Link Building for a New Blog
-
We are setting up a new blog and I was wondering what is the best way to build good quality links for a new website? I have been researching this quite a bit on the forums and a lot of people talk about writing good content which I agree with however no one will find that content if we are not ranking in Google for our keywords.
From what I have read the following is what I should be doing
Directory's
Creating Link-bait (Info-graphics)
PR Releases or Getting News Sites to link to us
I have heard a lot of mention of using Articles sites like ezinearticles but I have also read that Post Panda that they dont have as much link juice as they once had and also I don't think that for a Blog that we should be using it as well but maybe I am wrong?
Would appreciate some peoples suggestions

Totally agree with EGOL on this one, I find running some long tail keywords from PPC, around the quality content helps to get the sharing process going, like EGOl said add some social sharing buttons, make sure the content is above the norm and you should see some sharing going on through the buttons.
I know EGOL doesn't really like this but you could use myblogguest to post some content on other related blogs in your niche.

Hey Mark,
Also, as you add content, let your analytics guide you towards long tails that you can write about. Focusing on incoming search keywords will allow you to drill into micro niches within your market as well.
I used to put much of my time into manual back links, but I had to learn that it is far more valuable to analyze my stats and write a good post or two instead.
This leads to more long tail and more micro niches.

First place social sharing buttons on your site so people who can see it will easily have ways to share it via facebook, twitter, google, email.
When you have superb content share it with a site such as slashdot, reddit, stumble, digg, which will quickly get your title and a sentence in front of a lot of people (not your entire article - these sites deliver the traffic to you - not someone else). If your content is really good that could entice some people to your site and they - if they like your content, will share it with others and they with others and so on.
Study what is succeeding on these sites from your niche and learn what you need to beat.
Getting that type of sharing is not common.. so your content has to be really really good - some of the best on the web in your niche.
You can also contact some bloggers who observe your niche and link out to what they think is interesting. But don't do that often. Only when you have superb content.
Don't overestimate the quality of your content. When you think it is great, improve it, add images, get photos, interview an expert, add video, hire an editor. It has to grab the reader's attention at the start and hold it through the details.

Link Building in Person
Someone answered me on Google plus but just to confirm. If I have a pet shop in one city and ranking well local. But want to rank even better in the surrounding cities. Is it a good idea to go to different pet shops in different cities and asked to trade links and help each other out . Will that be beneficial for my pet shop or not?

Is building a Link Network from scratch a good idea?
My SEO agency are suggesting that they will build a Link network from scratch by buying domains and building blog sites on them. All sites that link to my site would in theory be 'clean' and as we build up their authority we increase the value of the links to my site. One of the upsides is taht we would have complete control of all the links. This does sound a bit spammy but in theory could it work?

Links I am not Building?
Hi All, I check webmaster multiple times on a daily basis, and I noticed some links that I have not worked on and look a bit spammy, is it possible for people to purposely pont bad links in my direction? If that is the case is there a way for me to remove them myself? Also the number of total backlinks are very different in Webmaster and my Open Site Explorer, is this normal? Thanks again !

Link building from keyword domains
Hi all, I am currently working on link building to our site http://www.betxpert.com which has a number of keywords I am targeting. I have become aware that domains with the keywords are available. We (in Danish) target the phrase "ekpert tips" and the domain www.eksperttips.dk is available. Would it be a good thing for us, to register this domain and do one of the following things: a) DNS forward traffic to our main site b) Build a small blog with minor content and linking to the main site with text links with the tekst "ekspert tips"? c) Simply do nothing, save the money and spend it otherwise... Hope someone can give me a sound advice. Best regards, Rasmus

Best to create a new blog as a subsection or as a new site?
Our company has a blog "feature" or "theme" that we'd like to publish every week at least. Should we create a subsection of our current company blog? Or should we register a new domain specifically for the feature? The latter would allow us to do some linking back to the main website, and would probably be good in terms of future career flexibility / personal branding for whoever writes it. Things to keep in mind? Anyone have any suggestions? Best practices? What should I do?
