Index Issues with Iframes
-
I have pages that are being scrapped and displayed in iframes and I wanted to see if anyone could tell me how I could get theses pages to be indexed here is a URL of one of the pages http://coggno.com/onlinetraining/safety-/other/lab-safety-1INde
-
Sweet thanks Josh for the info.
-
By the way, I assume the domain we're talking about is actually: http://coggno.com/onlinetraining/safety-/other/lab-safety-1 (without the INde, because that says content cannot be found).
If I were asked how it could be indexed I'd say it couldn't. There's no way sorry, because the content is never ON that page. To the end user in their browser it is, but technically it is just a window to another website.

Thanks Josh,
It is our material so no need to worry. But, if you were given the URL http://coggno.com/onlinetraining/safety-/other/lab-safety-1INde and asked how can this be indexed what would you do?
-
Hi zball,
I can't quite work out what you're trying to do sorry. An iFrame does not exist on your site, it exists on the site that you are directing to. When Google looks over your site, it basically sees an iFrame, and that it's a window to another site, and then moves along.
So in short, no, you can't get Google to index the content of iFrames as your own.
On a side note, do you have permission to be doing that? If that's not your content, I'd be very careful of doing what you're doing.
If everyone could just put an iFrame to another site, then nobody would ever write content!!

Do you Index your Image Repository?
On our backend system, when an image is uploaded it is saved to a repository. For example: If you upload a picture of a shark it will go to - oursite.com/uploads as shark.png When you use a picture of this shark on a blog post it will show the source as oursite.com/uploads/shark.png This repository (/uploads) is currently being indexed. Is it a good idea to index our repository? Will Google not be able to see the images if it can't crawl the repository link (we're in the process of adding alt text to all of our images ). Thanks

Google Indexing of Site Map
We recently launched a new site - on June 4th we submitted our site map to google and almost instantly had all 25,000 URL's crawled (yay!). On June 18th, we made some updates to the title & description tags for the majority of pages on our site and added new content to our home page so we submitted a new sitemap. So far the results have been underwhelming and google has indexed a very low number of the updated pages. As a result, only a handful of the new titles and descriptions are showing up on the SERP pages. Any ideas as to why this might be? What are the tricks to having google re-index all of the URLs in a sitemap?

Canonical Issues with Wordpress
Hi all, I have just started using Wordpress SEO by Yoast and still having a hard time correcting my Canonical issues for all posts with a .html at the end. The pluggin allows you to add a '/' to the end for canonical issues, but just for pages, not posts. How best in Wordpress to make my post change from .html/ to .html. I really don't want to go to the hassle to make each URL a new 301 redirect in my .htaccess. I hate the .html, but if they are going to stay, how can I make sure I get the .html/ link juice back to them. Many thanks!

Dangers of iframe?
I just noticed that one of our sites are "featured" on another site. The only this on this site is an iframe that has our site on it, i.e.: <iframe name="ForwardFrameqAW52htK" src="http://www.oursite.com/subdirectory"></iframe> This got me thinking of two question. First, is there any dangers for us to be included like this? And, secondly, why would they do like this? To make people believe they have contents and get traffic, and after that change the contents to their own? Or anything else?

Page not being indexed
Hi all, On our site we have a lot of bookmaker reviews, and we are ranking pretty good for most bookmaker names as keywords, however a single bookmaker seems to have been shunned by Google. For a search "betsafe" in Denmark, this page does not appear among the top 50: http://www.betxpert.com/bookmakere/betsafe All of our other review pages rank in top 10-20 for the bookmaker name as keyword. What to do if Google has "banned" a page? Best regards, Rasmus

301 redirect Issues
my clients site is www.greenbayharvest.co.uk When you enter that URL it redirects to www.greenbayharvest.co.uk/shop, dont ask why, thats the way they set it up and thats what im stuck with. So, how do i resolve the 301 issue here. we want all things to point to www.greenbayharvest.co.uk, in terms of SEO but does the fact that there is a redirect going to /shop make this an issue? we appear to have: www.greenbayharvest.co.uk/shop www.greenbayharvest.co.uk greenbayharvest.co.uk greenbayharvest.co.uk/shop all these URL's go to the same same page so what is the best way to correct this? thanks for any help on this Lee

Getting a citation page indexed
Howdy mozzers, I have a citation on a .govt domain with 2 links pointing to my site. The page is not indexed by Google, bing or yahoo. URL; http://www.familyservices.govt.nz/directory/viewprovider.htm?id=17077 I have tried getting the paged indexed by building bookmark links to it. I have tweeted the url and gotten a few re-tweets for it. But no luck. The page has got no nofollow meta tag. Other listings have been indexed by google. Could someone please advise on means to help me get the page indexed? A strategy that I have not yet tried is submitting a sitemap that includes the external url as I am not sure if it is possible to include url's not part of my domain. Any advice, help would be greatly appreciated. viva le SEOmoz Thanks

Why google index my IP URL
hi guys, a question please. if site:112.65.247.14 , you can see google index our website IP address, this could duplicate with our darwinmarketing.com content pages. i am not quite sure why google index my IP pages while index domain pages, i understand this could because of backlink, internal link and etc, but i don't see obvious issues there, also i have submit request to google team to remove ip address index, but seems no luck. Please do you have any other suggestion on this? i was trying to do change of address setting in Google Webmaster Tools, but didn't allow as it said "Restricted to root level domains only", any ideas? Thank you! boson
