Count of links
-
I am using free link API to get total number of internal links,
external links, follow links and no follow links by using *
http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape/links/* url.I have given following attributes along with the url as,
- SourceCols=4
- TargetCols=4
- Scope=page_to_page
- Sort=page_authority
- Limit=1000
- Filter=nofollow
By implementing this, I am getting array for each filter and by counting
array size, I can get the count of total links. This is a long procedure and seomoz link API is taking a long response time.
Is there any way by which I can get the total number of link for each
filter directly ? Or is there any other alternative ? -
Oky ...Thank you...
Let me know if you can develop such feature of getting direct link counts for different filters ...

Hey Ravi,
If you are a Free API user, that is probably the fastest way you're going to be able to pull that data. However, if you're using the Site Intelligence API, you would be able to get those calls from the URL-metrics API call, which is much more efficient and a lot faster.
You can see the Free versus Paid list here: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/13991153/URL Metrics API
Internal links: Links (uid) - External Links (ueid)
External links: ueidFollow links: External Links (ueid) - Juice-Passing Links (ujid)
Nofollow links: Links (uid) - Juice-Passing Links (ujid)I'm sorry I can't be more help! Let me know if you have more questions,
Carin

hey thank you for your reply . The url I am using is like : "http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape/links/".urlencode($url_to_check)."?SourceCols=4&TargetCols=4&Scope=page_to_page&Sort=page_authority&Limit=1000&Filter=follow"."&AccessID=".$accessID."&Expires=".$expires."&Signature=".$urlSafeSignature;
There is one request at a time for a link.
Thanks!

Hey Ravi,
The links call is pretty intensive and does take some time to process requests, but there could be a way to optimize your call. Would you be able to post the final URL you are sending to the API (eliminating your secret key)?
Also, how many requests are sending in at a time? Are you sending these in as batch requests or single requests?
Thanks!
Carin

Losing referrer data on http link that redirects to an https site when on an https site. Is this typical or is something else going on here?
I am trying to resolve a referral data issue. Our client noticed that their referrals from one of their sites to another had dropped to almost nothing from being their top referrer. The referring site SiteA which is an HTTPs site, held a link to SiteB, which is also an HTTPs site, so there should be no loss, however the link to SiteB on SiteA had the HTTP protocol. When we changed the link to the HTTPs protocol, the referrals started flowing in. Is this typical? If the 301 redirect is properly in place for SiteB, why would we lose the referral data?

Best to Leave Toxic Links or Remove/Disovow on Site with Low Number of Linking Domains
Our site has only 87 referring domains (with at least 7,100 incoming links). LinkDetox has identified 29% of our back links as being toxic and 14% as being questionable. Virtually all of these links derive from spammy sites. We never received a manual penalty, but ever since the first Penguin penalty in 2012 our search volume and ranking has dropped with some uneven recover in the last 3 years. By removing/disavowing toxic links are we risking that over optimized link text will be removed and that ranking will suffer as a result? Are we potentially shooting ourselves in the foot? Would we be better to spend a few months building quality links from reputable domains before removing disavowing bad links? Or toxic links (as defined by LinkDetox) so bad that it should be a priority to remove them immediately before taking any other step? Thanks, Alan

Pinterest links have been growing in Webmaster Tools
I've been using Pinterest for a couple of years now. It has been great in promoting our brand and generating referral traffic. My question is this. I've noticed in Webmaster Tools, in the "Links to your site" section, that my links from Pinterest has really shot up.It's gone from 3,500 links, 6 months ago, to over 23,000 recently. Those of you using Pinterest, have you seen a similar increase? Just wondering if Google is recognizing more of the links, even though they are "no-follow" links.

What tools are people using to analyse clicked links
Hi, What tools do you use/recommend to analyse what/where links are being clicked on a page. I have seen a few mentions about CrazyEgg but are there any free (but good) tools around worth using?

Quantifying link building efforts
Does anyone have a way to quantify the value of link building efforts? I am trying to devote resources to improve our link building initiatives but is there any way to correlate it to page rank etc? I know you can't tie it down directly but any rough gauge or studies in the past that people may be aware of? Any thoughts on how you would tackle this question? I need to demonstrate the value it provides in a slightly more scientific manner than saying "it just helps". Thanks,

No Link Data Available for this URL appears often. Are my sites too small to show up?
I am on the trial until Mar 5, 2012. I seldom get the info I want. Is it because my sites are too narrow a niche? I don't seem to be getting the data I'd like from your service. I'm trying to like it, but when I keep getting messages like this, it makes it hard to justify: "No Link Data Available for this URL appears often" Sample sites that I am unable to get data. I especially would like to know how many backlinks exist for each site. I paid someone to help me with them and I'd like to verify their work.: http://costaricadentistreview.com/ http://costaricadentistreviews.com/ http://costaricadentalimplants.org Any suggestions? Unique root linking domains - clarification
Hi guys, In SEOMoz Search Ranking Factors, one of the the top ranking factors is number of unique root domains linking to the page: http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors#metrics-5 My question is: do these unique root domains need to be unique root domains liking to my domain also? E.g. www.mydomain.com/landingpage1/ already got a link from www.externaldomain.com If www.externaldomain.com has another link pointing to www.mydomain.com/landingpage2/ will this link be counted? If yes will the value be diluted as www.externaldomain.com has already linked to www.mydomain.com/ Many thanks. David

Do Google Analytics filters affect link building?
We recently made a few link wheels for specific product pages. We've been having great results with all of the wheels except for one. The one we are having issues with is the only link that we were using a Google Analytics filter on; it looks like this http://domain.com/page.htm?zSource=Specific Keyword%tracking My question is does Google ignore links that are obviously utilizing their analyitcs custom filters? We're doing some more testing to try to find out if it truly is the link or if the wheel is a bad one. There are so many things that could go wrong but with so many of our link wheels working well, I wonder if the filters are what is causing such results.
