What is the negative effect of getting affiliate links to your domain?
-
Are the negative effects of affiliate links to your domain bigger than the positive effects? Is it better to use a subdomain for your affiliate campaigns? (Because of linkprofile no follow links or time on page effects?) Thanks for responce!

Sandip it sounds like you are providing advice for an affiliate. JB85 is asking about affiliate links because he is a merchant.
JB85 are you going to go through an affiliate network like Commission Junction, Shareasale, Linkshare, Google Affiliate Network.... or are you going to have the links go directly to your site via some internal affiliate management system or script?
If you go through a major network you don't have to worry about it. The links go through the network's URL first and do not pass pagerank.
If you have the links go directly to your site you should not try to get pagerank through them. Add a rel nofollow tag to the text you provide affilaites, and state that the links must be nofollowed in your terms. It may seem like a good idea to use "naked links" but it would be short-term gain and long-term loss for any eCommerce business hoping to generate organic search revenue in the coming years.
Good luck!

Thank you very much Sandip. What is à normal percentage of your linkprofile? What are you accepting for your company or clients?

Let me clear the doubt that Google is not against affiliate links and sites. Affiliate sites are very much part of the web ecosystem. But I am referring only good quality affiliate sites here and not thin one. For say, if your website contains only affiliate links, I think this is going to create a major issue. So if your website contains some affiliate links, I do not it is going to harm your website in one way or the other. Just make sure that your website is awesome and there will be no such issues if you try to monetize your website by placing some affiliate links.

Will GA Autotrack affect affiliate sites not using autotrack?
I want to add autotrack.js to affiliate quote forms hosted on my site. However, I do not know how it will affect affiliate websites (not associated with my quote forms, but with the same Google Analytics code, that do not use autotrack. I read that "Autotrack is not an official Google Analytics product and does not qualify for GA Premium". Will it harm my affiliates in any way to have autotrack on their quote form but not on their websites? It will have their GA website tracking number.

Looking for a way to crawl and test validity of affiliate links at scale. Ideas?
Hey all, I'm on the hunt for a service that will crawl our affiliate links and let us know when they return an error. I need to know that the last URL in the chain is returning a 200 over thousands of pages and links on a continual basis. The hitch is that most crawlers like Screaming Frog will return all of our links as working because it's only testing the first step, and this really requires a cloud solution anyway. Anyone happen to know of something? Edit for clarity's sake: I need something to check entire redirect chains in bulk that isn't a Wordpress plugin, isn't a website where you plug in a URL and it cuts you off after the first 100 results, and has the ability to crawl the site and provide reporting on a continual basis. Partner www.example2.com links to the company site with affiliate link www.example.com/?affid=xxxx in banner, article etc. As I understand these type of links could hurt our Company site, so I asked partners to use rel="nofollow" in all links where they link to us usign ?affid=xxxx in url. To be 100% sure that I did the right thing I decided to post here my question. Could these type of links hurt our Company site? Regards,

Can anyone help me find the broadband ISP affiliate program I need?
I have a couple sites that deal with broadband internet access, and I'm looking to monetize beyond adsense. I'd like to sign up for some affiliate programs from internet service providers like Charter, CenturyLink, Comcast, etc. I found a couple affiliate programs but I am having no luck at all figuring out the programs that so many other websites are involved with. In about every case, the user is able to enter in their address and then a search is performed, returning programs available at their location. The programs I've found just do the traditional ad click-throughs for a possible commission. Can anyone enlighten me what kind of programs they are using?

Link Building Intricacies
I'm about to embark on link building campaign. I have several key phrases that I want to develop such as "health & fitness products" and "vitamins & supplements". My site is specifically targeted at Australia men. Should I also aim to include the words "Australia" and "men" in my link anchor text? Or should leave the qualifiers to the title tag for my destination url? I'm also wondering, by having "health & fitness products" as my link anchor text and the same text in my title tag for my destination url, will that build value for the various keyword variations in my keyword phrase such as "health & fitness" and "fitness products"? Thanks!
