PAGE TİTLE

<title> </span>Home to home moving 4356 <span></title> page A
<title> </span>Home to home moving 3723 <span></title> page B
These two titles are the same?

I have used unique identifiers to create unique page title before but only because it's a huge site that required automation - it's not the most elegant way to add dynamic unique content (but it does insure it which is why it's a good technique for huge sites) and could reduce CTR.
the problem i see here more is that both title tags are competing for the same thing. if users are able to generate similar description resulting in duplicate title tags that is probably very rare and you can probably go in and edit the ones that are duplicates by changing one character.

I think I understand now. You would have the customer generated listings ending up with duplicate titles so you were adding numbers to the end.
Maybe you could automatically add the location or the date of the listing to the title, or some other thing that would be unique to the listing so your titles would look like like "Home To Home Move in Mytown on May 20"
While it may not be important for these pages to show up in search, at least then they would be unique rather than looking like a bunch of duplicates. This could also help you with local searches in the areas where your users have posted a listing.
-
Well then, if I'm understanding you correctly, you shouldn't need these specific pages indexed anyway. Instead you should be promoting/doing SEO for the pages that lead you to the listing portal. So the duplicate titles or titles shouldn't matter or be a question..

Our site is a home to home moving listing portal. Consumers who wants to move his home fills a form so that moving companies can cote prices. We were generating listing page URL’s by using the title submitted by customer. Unfortunately we have understood by now that many customers have entered exactly same title for their listings which has caused us having hundreds of similar page title
-
Technically, they are unique to a search engine bot. To a person, they are pretty much the same thing.
And like Jesse said, they are kind of lame - spammy, uninteresting, and the numbers make it look like some kind of indexing mistake.
-
Yes and pretty terrible, also. Unless your only target keyword for each of those pages is "home to home moving.." but I can't imagine that particular search string receives many queries.
Consider your keywords and fit them into your title in a natural way. If I saw those titles listed in Google SERPs I'd avoid them like the plague.
Not trying to be critical, only trying to help. Hope I did.. Feel free to ask more questions!

Combining products - edit existing product page or 301 redirect to new page?
We want to combine existing products - e.g. 'hand lotion' and 'body lotion' will become 'hand & body lotion'. As such, we'll need to combine the two product pages into one. What would be the best route to take in terms of SEO to do this? My initial reaction is to create a new product page and then 301 or 302 redirect the old products to the new product page depending on if the change is permanent or temporary. Would you agree? Or am I missing something?

Duplicate Page Content
Hey Moz Community, Newbie here. On my second week of Moz and I love it but have a couple questions regarding crawl errors. I have two questions: 1. I have a few pages with duplicate content but it say 0 duplicate URL's. How do I know what is duplicated in this instance? 2. I'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with an IDX for a real estate website. But I have this setup on my site and it seems as though all the links it generates for different homes for sale show up as duplicate pages. For instance, http://www.handyrealtysa.com/idx/mls...tonio_tx_78258 is listed as having duplicate page content compared with 7 duplicate URLS: http://www.handyrealtysa.com/idx/mls...tonio_tx_78247

http://www.handyrealtysa.com/idx/mls...tonio_tx_78260 I've attached a screenshot that shows 2 of the pages that state duplicate page content but have 0 duplicate URLs. Also you can see somewhat about the idx duplicate pages. rel="canonical" is functioning on these pages, or so it seems when I view the source code from the page. Any help is greatly appreciated. skitch.png0 -
Punctuation at the Start of Page Titles
one of my clients appears to be using an exclamation mark (e.g. "! Graphic Prints By Mirrorin - Fun Childrens Graphic Prints") and to be completely honest, I have no idea if this is bad practice or if it wont have any affect from an SEO point of view? Any help would be appreciated because it is site wide, therefore if it is an issue I would like to be able to get it sorted asap! Thanks

"Issue: Duplicate Page Content " in Crawl Diagnostics - but these pages are noindex
Saw an issue back in 2011 about this and I'm experiencing the same issue. http://moz.com/community/q/issue-duplicate-page-content-in-crawl-diagnostics-but-these-pages-are-noindex We have pages that are meta-tagged as no-everything for bots but are being reported as duplicate. Any suggestions on how to exclude them from the Moz bot?

In-page Optimization check list....
Hey, Mozzers I have a question about optimizing a web-page. I was just having a conversation with our web developer about optimizing our website and which changes would make the most difference in affecting the SERPs as far as on-page optimization goes. I was explaining to her we wanted to optimize our pages in the following levels (ranked most important to least important): <title>: key word laden </p> <p>2) <H1> : key word in <strong>bold</strong></p> <p>3) page content: keyword laden as well</p> <p>The idea was to have three or four layers of keywords on the page. I work for a real estate brokerage and the context was the actual page of the property listing. So in this case, the keywords would be the address of the property. She explained to me that the the H1 tag is more important than the title tag.</p> <p>Does this ring true with you guys?</p></title>

Category listing page coming above product pages
A new SEO client we have taken on seem to be hitting most of the points right on with their site and SEO. However one thing that is bugging me is that their category pages i.e. "Footwear" which title tag includes the brands they stock. Is almost always coming up above (if they are ever even found) the product individual pages. Anyone seen this sort of things happening? Very frustrating.

Woah, my A-grade optimized pages that were on the first page have all vanished outside the top 50 in Google... is this Panda?
Yep as mentioned, I had some pages hit the top ten pretty quickly after ensuring they were A-grade for pretty uncompetitive keywords however, today, all bar 2 have just vanished from the top 50! All were ranking in Google.co.uk and I know we were predicting the Panda update to hit soon but WOW! My client is understandably a little upset, what on earch do I tell him and what should I do about it? Cheers! jT
