I love how she thumbs downed all of our responses because she asked a stupid ass question. LOL. I bet you she works for Top Rank...lol. I kid! I kid!
-
Ugh. Glad you cleared it up. Your demeanor comes off a bit cross, however. "please dont say obvious stuff." --? What does that even mean? I was asking what you meant in my original post. I'm still unsure as to where I am right now.
In any case, the answer to your question is: No, it's pointless. Delete it and move on.
I doubt it hurts (maybe could be considered cloaking but most likely not, right?) but it certainly doesn't help so why have it?
Stick to your title tag and get on with it. There's a reason web developers and SEO minds alike are forgetting this meta tag even exists.
In the future, if we don't know what tag you are talking about we will probably just ask for clarity like I did here this time. The best way to avoid that is to make it clear. A lot of people mistakenly refer to the Title tag as the META TITLE so it can get confusing. Thanks and good luck!

I am not talking about the Title tag header I am talking about the second tag !!!!
I asked about The META Title !!!!!
If you dont know what tag I am talking about please do not say obvious stuff.
Thank You !

We discussed this yesterday...you asked for the red pill.
-
You guys, where am I?
Where am I right now you guys?

There is almost nothing more important to your onsite SEO than properly optimized title tags. Like seriously...seriously seriously. Cringe.
While you are at it, after you remove your title tags, make sure to add to everyone of your pages. Please don't...I'm kidding.
Please tell me you are joking.
-
No I am pretty sure Vale meant and Yes Jesse is right, its one of the most important things you can have so yes its very important
-
The title tag is quite possibly the single most useful piece of on-page optimization you can do... Am I misunderstanding this question?

How do I fix duplicate title issues?
I have a sub domain that isn't even on our own site but it's resulting in a lot of errors in Moz for duplicate content, as shown here: http://cl.ly/1R081v0K0e2N. Would this affect our ranking or is it simply just errors within Moz? What measures could I take to make sure that Moz or Google doesn't associate our site with these errors? Would I have to noindex in the htaccess file for the sub domain?

Spammy Directories Using Title Meta-Tag For Link
I've been noticing a growing amount of spammy directories using my title Meta-Tag to create a link back to my site. Since my title uses competitive keywords, these external links on spammy directories look over optimized and I fear an algo penalty might get triggered. Should I be concerned and what can I do?

Fix Missing Meta-Description?
We have a Wordpress site. SEOMoz crawl diagnostics are showing 144 missing meta-description tags. The problem is that about 100 are blog pages: http://www.portlandpersonalinjuryaccidentlawyer.com/blog/page/15/ http://www.portlandpersonalinjuryaccidentlawyer.com/blog/page/16/ http://www.portlandpersonalinjuryaccidentlawyer.com/blog/page/17/ Etc. We have a meta-description for http://www.portlandpersonalinjuryaccidentlawyer.com/blog/ but not for every page.... is this a problem? How can we fix it? Thanks!

Duplicate page titles in SEOMoz
My on page reports are showing a good number of duplicate title tags, but they are all because of a url tracking parameter that tells us which link the visitor clicked on. For example, http://www.example.com/example-product.htm?ref=navside and http://www.example.com/example-product.htm are the same page, but are treated as to different urls in SEOMoz. This is creating "fake" number of duplicate page titles in my reports. This has not been a problem with Google, but SEOMoz is treating it like this and it's confusing my data. Is there a way to specify this as a url parameter in the Moz software? Or does anybody have another suggestion? Should I specify this in GWT and BWT?

Does the SEOMoz weekly crawl that highlights no meta description tag, take into account if there is a meta robots noindex, follow tag on the pages it indicates the missing meta descriptions?
The weekly crawl website report is telling me that there are pages that have missing meta description tags, yet I've implemented meta robots tags to 'noindex, follow' those pages which are visible in those page source files. As far as Google Is concerned, surely this then won't be a problem since it is being instructed NOT to consider these specific pages for indexing. I am assuming that the weekly SEOmoz website crawl is simply throwing the missing meta description crawl findings into its report without itself observing that the particluar URL references contain the meta robots 'noindex, follow' tag ???? Appreciate if you can clairfy if this is the case. It would help me understand that (at least in terms of my efforts towards Google) your own crawl doesn't observe the meta robots tag instruction, hence the resultant report's flagging the discrepancy.

Title Element too Long - Counts ampersand as &
I was wondering if Google counts the ampersand written as '&' as 5 characters or a single one? It seems that Google counts it as a single character and SEOmoz PRO counts it as 5 characters.

On the Crawl Diagnostics Summary, its reporting over 100 "Title Missing or Empty" issues, but they all check out fine?
Wondering if there Is a bug with the crawler or known timeout issues? Site speed is fast, but we do run a couple of large cron jobs out of hours, which may be the cause of any timeouts, but shouldn't the crawler report that, rather saying no title tags on 100 pages, when there are? SEOmoz newbie, so still finding my feet 🙂
