Pagination for image galleries
-
We have photo galleries that load new URLs with new content/photo on each page, yet I'm still seeing "duplicate meta description" in GWT for each separate URL in the gallery. Will rel="next" rel="prev" take care of this? Just want to confirm as it requires a CMS upgrade/release.

Well, that is telling Google those pages are related and are part of a series. I don't think that has anything to do with the duplicate page title / description directly. Can you do a "Page 1 - Current Page Title" on these paginated pages in the title or something like "Page 1 of 26 - Red Widget Photos from Amazing Gallery" or whatever you might have.
I hope this helps.

How do you check if press release images are different enough?
We're helping a Sydney blog called Happy develop their local following and we're starting by ensuring their posts are optimized. They're doing a great job with reviews and content but the one thing we noticed is that all the images they use (because they review music) are from bands and artists that are used tens if not hundreds of times in other places. We're trying to set up a simple way for them to tweak these images to ensure they're crawled and seen as original. Anyone had to deal with this and found a solution that makes sense?

Author snippet image in results, question!
Hi, Quick question really, I can see how a Google+ profile picture showing up in the results can increase CTR and even trust but would this be a no no for a normal website? I mean if you had a website which offered personal training, so a brand rather than an individual would you not use this snippet? I've seen some website, even ecommerce sites using this tag to just increase their CTR.

What's the best way to handle crawling of photo gallery?
When you have a photo gallery with many search filters and loads and loads of pages, is it best to block all the filters and use google's pagination code? Ex: http://photo.net/gallery/photocritique/filter This site has pages for many different queries. While the page titles are unique, the pages are showing duplicated content.

Pagination solution
I'm using pagination following Google's guidelines to resolve duplication on pages such as: www.domain.be/product-overview/ www.domain.be/product-overview/2/ Is it sufficient to apply rel="prev" and rel="next" to search results navigation or is it wise to apply a canonical tag on www.domain.be/product-overview/2/ to www.domain.be/product-overview/? Many thanks for your insights!

Seo'ing Sub domains for images
We are currently adding some performance improvement to our websites, to improve user experience. One of the things we are looking at is splitting of images over several sub-domains, to increase the number of images that can be downloaded at the same. We have seen that using key phrases within image names has an improvement in rankings. So, the question is should we create sub-domains as key-phrase.example.co.uk or as i1.example.co.uk? K
