Whats the best way to research website relevant keywords
-
I wanted to know the general practices SEO marketers use when initially researching and revisiting relevant keywords for a website.
I use this process
- Brain storm a list of keywords, between me and the client
- Check out competitors websites & SERP's
- look at Google adwords traffic analyser ( mostly as a point of reference and for increased ideas)
How do others do it? what process do you find works - i'm based in the Uk would be great to get a UK perspective.
Obviously you can't optimise for all keywords in your list how best is it to decide on the best value or less competitive keywords?
I struggle to get stats for local keywords( not enough search data) - most my clients are local businesses and have limited surrounding service areas.
thanks

Does linking to relevant high authority websites effect your MozTrust or Rank?
Basically what the title says. I am having a hard time understanding why a compeitor with less linking domains and none of any real quality, they're all membership sites or partnerships, nothing to relevant to the industry. While we have links and articles on us from multiple magazines in our industry. As well as to relevant directories with high domain ranks. The only thing I noticed is they're linking to their clients website, which are all high authority websites. So do external links count towards your MozTrust or Rank?

Anyone know how/where to get keyword yield ratio?
I'm trying to incorporate keyword yield ratio (the ratio of keywords to pages yielding search traffic) in my seo report. I want to be able to compare on a monthly basis the percentage ratio of keywords to a landing page yielding search traffic. So for example, in July we might have 5 keywords that earned a click to landing page A. But in September, the number of keywords grew to 8 keywords that earned a click to landing A. I would like to be able to report monthly on the % ratio growth of number of keywords to landing pages that yield search traffic. Aim is to grow # of keywords per page... Is there a way I can get this data through seomoz tools or google analytics? Thanks, Gemma

Relevancy In Link Building
Hi, I'd like to build links to my websites from other relevant sites that are about similar topics. To do that in the best way, I am looking for a tool that generates keywords for a specific site or a page. This tool should basically analyze the website and understand what topics is it about. Then I can compare my website and the website I am looking to do link building in and see if the relevance is high. I remember SEOMOZ had a similar tool. Does anyone knows the link to that tool or other tools that can help me do the task I am looking to do?

Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization
I'm still having issues with this self-cannibalization...it's referencing my tags as links that are doing this... should i remove the tags on my posts that are exact keyword matches to my article? for example, this post generates an 'a' through the on-page optimization tool for the keyword 'kw cares'...they only thing i receive a warning on is the self-cannibalization. http://www.youdrivethesuccess.com/tag/kw-cares/ Cannibalizing link - "kw cares" is it best practice not to have your tags match your primary keywords? any guidance is appreciated!
