Whats wrong with meta title? In SERP it looks different.
-
Hi,
can someone tell me why my meta titles looks different in SERP?
I use Prestashop CMS and meta title in many pages looks similair to this one:
Puodų Rinkiniai | Puodai | Iki -40% Akcija | ŠefoSvajonė.lt
And in SERP it looks like this:
Puodų Rinkiniai - sefosvajone.lt. sefosvajone.lt
Why can this be? Its freshly indexed. Rather than set Meta Title text it shows just name of the Product or Category and then shops adress twice or sometimes once.
Thanks!

You can alter your titles and see if that helps, but in the end it's a matter of seeing how Google is changing your titles and then creating a title that's a compromise between what you want and what Google wants. And even in the that case, Google might not listen.

Thanks for your reply. Is there a way I can avoid these changes? Because its not better for our shoppers at all. Because I see other pages has Titles they want, I wonder why wont Google allow us to have what is best for our clients.

Matt Cutts covered this a couple months ago. Depending on the query you used, Google reserves the right to change the title based on what they believe would be better for users. Is it actually better for users? We may never know, but that's how things are right now. I linked the Cutts video below:

Duplicate page titles and Content in Woocommerce
Hi Guys, I'm new to Moz and really liking it so far!
On-Page Optimization | | jeeyer
I run a eCommerce site on Wordpress + WooCommerce and ofcourse use Yoast for SEO optimalisation I've got a question about my first Crawl report which showed over 600 issues! 😐 I've read that this is something that happens more often (http://moz.com/blog/setup-wordpress-for-seo-success). Most of them are categorized under:
1. Duplicate Page Titles or;
2. Duplicate Page Content. Duplicate Page Titles:
These are almost only: product category pages and product tags. Is this problem beeing solved by giving them the right SEO SERP? I see that a lot of categories don't have a proper SEO SERP set up in yoast! Do I need to add this to clear this issue, or do I need to change the actual Title? And how about the Product tags? Another point (bit more off-topic) I've read here: http://moz.com/community/q/yoast-seo-plugin-to-index-or-not-to-index-categories that it's advised to noindex/follow Categories and Tags but isn't that a wierd idea to do for a eCommerce site?! Duplicate Page Content:
Same goes here almost only Product Categories and product tags that are displayed as duplicate Page content! When I check the results I can click on a blue button for example "+ 17 duplicates" and that shows me (in this case 17 URLS) but they are not related to the fist in any way so not sure where to start here? Thanks for taking the time to help out!

how do I even start building links when it seem the only strategy is to send an email to a related site to link to us? any way. Most of you here are SEO experts and small business owners I would greatly appreciate if you point me in teh right direction, like a 1, 2 ,3 ....type of thing. I might be asking to much but after thinking about it I decided to post something here.0 -
Long Meta Titles on Dynamic Pages
What to do with long meta titles on press release pages. Unlike other pages on the site, press release pages have no physical value and are dynamically created picking data from the database. Such pages i notice are automatically picking the URL/H1 as meta title and meta description. How to shorten such meta titles and descriptions? Do such errors (related to dynamically created pages) matter? Tanveer

Meta description not showing in search results
Hi, One of my client's websites is not showing its Meta descriptions in search results. I've looked at the html and have noticed that they are using ' rather than " around the description tag (see below) <meta name="<a class="attribute-value">description</a>" content='<a class="attribute-value">Student Accommodation in Portsmouth or Southampton - Fully Furnished Studios, Close to the Universities. All Inclusive Rent with WiFi. Going Fast, Book Now!</a>' /> Is this likely to be the problem, or am I missing something very obvious? The website is http://www.unilife.co.uk/ Many thanks, Ben

Page Title - What is better?
Hi SEO Heads, I have another question if someone would be so kind in answering What page title of the 2 below is better for SEO (i) Chocolate Cake|Chocolate Cake Recipe|Xmas Cake or (ii) Chocolate Cake | Chocolate Cake Recipe | Xmas Cake As you can see (ii) Page Title has a space before and after the | (vertical bar) I know the second page title looks better to human eyes but on some pages I had to forego the space so i could fit my keywords in the page title. is this a good idea? Can anyone help me? Cheers Aidan

My client has built his site with the - index file pulling to the root - but the crawlers are seeing TWO separate pages - when in reality they are the same. Riddle me this batman?

My blog title is getting added to my post title and I can't figure out how to remove it
Hello everyone, I am sure most of you guys know how to do this. I am finding that when my posts are listed in google, my blog title is added to my post title. 2 questions. 1. Is this hurting my rankings because the blog title is diluting my keywords making it look like I have a huge title? (the on page optimizer is dinging me for this. 2. I use a self hosted wordpress blog with the all in one seo plugin. Does anyone know how to remove the blog title from being appended to the post title? I thought I could do that in all in one seo by checking the rewrite title box and just having it say %post_title% but that didn't fix it. Also it was doing it before I checked that box as well. Any other ideas to try? Thanks
