Google plus question
-
hi i have started using google plus after some great advice on here, i am not sure if i have done this correct but here is my url for my account, if anyone lets me know if this is the address i should be promoting.
https://plus.google.com/108369767071351734510/posts?hl=en-GB
my question is
Is it best to have my postings as public or as circles, very new to this so not sure how to have my posts set, any advice would be great

this is great advice, i am going to read your info on page using the rel="author" tag as i am not sure how to do this. also i need to find out about if we can put the company name on there so people can find us as they will not know who we are with a personal name.
i have content on the page but need to look at it and see what i can do to improve it

Hi Diane
I suggest you make your postings public. This will help people find you, and know if what you're sharing is interesting, so they can put you in their circles.
One of the most useful things you can do with your Google+ page is verify your site for authorship (so your image appears in Google search results).
To set this up you will need to do a couple more things:
1. Add your site under "Contributor to" section on your About page.
2. Make your +1s public.
3. Add links from your site to your Google+ page using the rel="author" tag. (This completes the circle so Google knows you are contributor to your site, and that your site verifies you as the author).
I wrote a short guide about setting up authorship, though you'll doubtless find many more on the web.
I would also advise you to add a bit more content to your page - images and info about yourself - then publish a few posts and start circling people you find interesting.
Good luck
Mark

Google won't index my website because "certain conditions" weren't met
I found the answer on this -- interestingly, I had changed registrars and they didn't pull over the DNS information correctly. This caused the above issues. Once I identified this, I updated the DNS correctly -- at registrar and server -- and things worked fine.

Do you think its better to have a published date AND a last updated date ? Does google even look if you updated but left the published date old
Do you think its better to have a published date AND a last updated date on Posts ? Does google even look if you updated but left the published date old I was thinking of adding a "last updated" field to my articles. But is it worth it? or should I just keep it uncluttered and leave only the last published date? I would think that Google would not notice if I updated a last updated meta field since their is a published date field already.

Company blog relaunch. Best practices with Google Algorithm updates in mind?
We have a company blog living on our corporate domain. The blog contained many posts with keywords and we believe google is penalizing us for over optimization as we use to be ranked in the top 5 for our main keyword now we're on page 8. Keeping this in mind, we are planning to relaunch the blog and we wanted to get some tips on best practices that addressing the following questions. Should we archive _all _of our previously published content and start fresh with this relaunch? Should we keep 50 or so published blogs visible? Where should this blog live (on our domain or a wholly separate domain)? We'd love to get thoughts and opinions, and any insight about best practices for a blog relaunch.

Google + Content Strategies
Hello, We are currently promoting a website and are considering promoting content via google + We have technical issues that prevent us from promoting content via the company blog. Our question is how beneficial is it to write original articles and post them directly on a company google + page. Is it good to post articles on google + and write original content directly to the google + page? is a technical option to integrate the goole+ content to the website? Do you have any advice as far as the length of original google + articles or any other practical advice? Thanks! Guy

Using Google Blogger
Hi, On my website I have a specific blog section, which like most people is linked to Wordpress. I have been advised that to achieve better SEO its also a good idea to use Google Blogger, because it will link back to your website from Google. Obviously we don't want to submit the same articles to Google blogger or else that would be duplicated, but is this something that could benefit and is anyone else doing this? Thanks!
