Member Only Content
-
I run a wordpress based website that contains a large amount of free content, but also a large amount of content that is only accessed via a paid membership.
After running a SEOmoz campaign for the site, it showed 3600 errors for duplicate page titles and 1900 errors for duplicate page content.
After looking into the errors it became clear that the majority of them were due to the fact that if you clicked on a link to paid content, it would take you to the paid membership sign in page.
So how to I go about fixing these errors? I don't want this to hurt my rankings. Or fix it if it already has.

Since you don't care whether your sign-in page ever ranks well, and since the member content behind the paywall will never index/rank anyway, I don't think is a big issue, Jonathan.
If you wanted to, you could "nofollow" the links to the paid content pages and you could set the signup page to "no-index". That would at least signal to the crawlers that the page isn't intended to be a viable content page of the site.

Is one page with long content better than multiple pages with shorter content?
(Note, the site links are from a sandbox site and has very low DA or PA) If you look at this page, you will see at the bottom a lengthy article detailing all of the properties of the product categories in the links above. http://www.aspensecurityfasteners.com/Screws-s/432.htm My question is, is there more SEO value in having the one long article in the general product category page, or in breaking up the content and moving the sub-topics as content to the more specific sub-category pages? e.g. http://www.aspensecurityfasteners.com/Screws-Button-Head-Socket-s/1579.htm

Duplicate Content even when Canonical is used
Hi Everyone, Our website uses the Magento platform which is notorious for creating duplicate content. I tried to make sure that all the duplicate content it creates should be "canonicalized" to the correct page. While looking through the moz Page Diagnostics I see that I have 1003(!) pages of duplicate content. When I downloaded the csv I saw that over 95% of them had a canonical url. Does that mean there is really no issue but moz analytics is still reading it as duplicate content and titles? Is there an issue with them being canonicals as opposed to being redirected? Thanks!

Does the Crawl Diagnosis - Duplicate Page Content account for a canonical meta tags?
I see the same page listed 3 time (with different query params). But on each I have a meta tag pointing to the correct canonical url. By still seeing all three listed, does that mean there is an error with my meta tag?

Sorting Dupe Content Pages
Hi, I'm no excel pro, and I'm having a bit of a challenge interpreting the Crawl Diagnostics export .csv file. I'd like to see at a glance which of my pages (and I have many) are the worst offenders for dupe content – ie. which have the most "Other URLs" associated with them. Thanks, would appreciate any advice on how other people are using this data, and/or how 'Moz recommends to do it. 🙂

Wrong duplicated page content
I found out that some errors on my website are considered as "duplicated page content" while they are not, the content is different on each page. I wonder why ? Is it an issue from Seomoz ?

How do I find the corresponding duplicate content pages from my SEOmoz report?
Once I have run my report and the duplicate content pages come up, is there a way to find out which pages have the duplicate content on them? I have one URL but where can I find the duplicate content that corresponds to it? Thanks Barry
