Why is this site ranking higher?!
-
I'm trying to figure out why www.lvimmigrationattorney.com would be ranking higher on several keywords than www.immigrationlawnv.com. It doesn't make sense to me because the latter site has a higher page authority and mozrank, as well as more followed links. The domain authority from the linking sites to each site are pretty close. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I can't put my finger on it. Any idea?

how about "immigration attorney las vegas?"

If you give an example of a keyword phrase that one site is ranking better for i'm sure i can show you why it lines up better for that phrase than the other site.
-
I completely agree with you, but from everything that I'm looking at these two pages are pretty similar in that regard as well. I really can't figure it out.
The only thing is that the first site's navigation links are all keyword heavy, not having anything to do with the page they are actually linking to. The first site also has 9 ratings on Google+, while the second has none. Maybe those three factors combined are doing it.

links are just part of it, on page optimization is the other major factor and probably the answer as to why one outranks another for a particular keyword(s)
domain age, page load speed, social media activity, etc are other lesser factors that all contribute as well.

# of links and how it impacts ranking
Hi everyone I was running a competitor analysis in Moz Pro of my site and 3 competitors that are ranked above me. One of the things I noticed is that my # of total links is very high compared to 2 of my competitors(please see attachment). Other seo tools are telling me the same. This is mainly due to a few affiliate sites that have us in their footer. I was wondering if this could impact our ranking if some of these sites have very low domain authority and have thousands of backlinks to our site? I am looking into starting the disavowing process. Having Trouble Ranking .us for branded Keyword
Hi Mozers, First time poster here. I run the website http://OrangeOctop.us/, it provides winning tips for FIFA, NBA 2K, NHL. The domain authority is 22 but I am unable to rank for the term OrangeOctopus. I know there are dozens of factors that should be assessed when looking at competition in Google (such as backlinks, domain age/relevance, social). However, I feel like you guys might have some suggestions for being able to rank for OrangeOctopus. Thank you! Joey

Why do some sites perform great but show no data on the tool bar?
Hey everyone, Been a paid member for 3 days and this is my first time posting 🙂 I have a quick question about competitive analysis with the MozBar. I do not want to point out the exact website (unless that is something cool to do on this forum), but there is a site ranking for a single keyword in the local 7 pack in slot one, which is also slot one for the SERP entirely. When I go to look at the page in more detail, the MozBar is showing no DA, PA, anything at all, and the Open Site Explorer is showing no links internal or external. I know that the page has to have at least some of these elements populated in order to be ranking for a term this competitive, so why is the bar not showing anything? The bar works GREAT on other sites below this one. Thanks for any help!

What's causing this site to rank better than another?
As I work on getting a grasp for what causes sites to rank better than others, I'm a bit stumped with two of our competitors. When you search Google for "essay editing" you get these results: 1. Ivyeyesediting.com 2. papercheck.com 3. gradesaver.com 4. scribendi.com 5. essayedge.com When you put these in OSE, it seems crazy that Ivyeyes is anywhere near the top. For example, essayedge creams these guys on EVERY single category. As a new SEO here, what am I missing. This makes absolutely no sense to me. Not only that, it's pretty discouraging seeing essayedge so far down the SERPS with what appears to be some really great numbers. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Identify keywords certain sites target
Hello, I've been asked to identify what keywords a group of blogs/communities might target so that we might gain some insight for our own SEM purposes. It's been several years since I used SEOmoz's tools, so they have changed a lot. I couldn't remember if you had such a tool, but it appears you do not--or at least not that I am finding. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of such a tool where I can input a subdomain, and have a report stating which keywords are the ones the domain rates highly for. To be clear: I'm not looking for a traffic estimation or anything; simply a breakdown of what keywords a specific page or domain support most. P.S. I did a search on here for certain terms like "competitive keyword targets" and so forth, and saw no matching QA. I'm sorry if there is a duplicate! Thanks,
