Install Wordpress on different folders on the same URL

Howdy Mozers!
It's a long story, but I have Wordpress installed on my root domain "example.com" and in "example.com/folder" as well.
Will this affect my SEO? Should I delete WP from my folder, and build my pages from a folder on the root domain, like "example.com/folder1"?
Hope I've managed to properly explain myself
Thanks!

there is absolutely nothing to worry about running WordPress this subfolder it is actually a great idea.
If you find yourself having to make 301 redirects for any reason because you've change the subfolder I strongly recommend using this tool and check out the links below.
https://yoast.com/wp-content/permalink-helper.php
https://yoast.com/change-wordpress-permalink-structure/
https://yoast.com/wordpress-seo-url-permalink/
one thing you want to make sure you're doing correctly is redirecting if you're changing anything. Example
RedirectMatch 301 ^/http://www.example.com/wp-example-folder/(\d+)$ http://www.example.com/http://www.example.com/wp-example-folder/?p=$1 hope this helps, Tom

Hi Fernando,
It should not have any issues from SEO point of view.
We are using the same technique at a client's website (to distinguish easily a hungarian and a romanian version which are not the same at all - so a multilanguage implementation wouldn't have been benefitial), and both version are working fine.
So I would not worry too much about it.

Hi Fernando, though you have WordPress files inside "example.com/folder", you can set your domain to be "example.com". I think it doesn't matter where you installed WordPress as long as your address is "example.com". And of course, you must be doing your SEO on "example.com".
I think it is more of a WordPress installation issue than an SEO one. You can read more about it here - http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory. I hope this helps.

Link building with AddThis URL
We've begun using AddThis for tracking our social sharing. AddThis has been adding the snippet to the end of the URLs on our pages and we've been finding that people linking to us are linking to the URL with the snippet. AddThis says this isn't a problem for SEO. Is this correct? Here is an example: https://www.harborcompliance.com/information/how-to-start-a-non-profit-organization-in-colorado.php#.UunCfPldVig I want to make sure this is not affecting our SEO in any way, particularly that Google would see this as an affiliate or paid link since it has the "#". I may be crazy but I just want to make sure!

Marketing URL
Hi, I need a bit of advice on marketing URL's. The destinations URL is http://www.website.com/by-development.php?area=Isle Of Wight&development=developmentname. If we wanted to use www.website.com/developmentname on literature to send people to the ugly URL above, what would we do? Would we need to rewrite the ugly URL to the neat and then 301 the ugly to the neat? Currently, the team are using a new domain of neatandrelevant.info and 301 redirecting it to ugly URL but there are lots of different developments they want to send people to so a new domain is bought for each development which seems a bit unnecessary. They point to different pages on the ugly URL website. Assuming canonical tag would not be needed then because the ugly URL page would be redirected. Also, as the website has ugly URL's anyway, would it not be best practice to use rewrites anyway so that the URL's read www.mywebsite.com/region/development? Would it confuse things to then have extra short marketing URL's missing out /region? Hope that makes sense....

No Keyword in URL
SEOMoz (and other platforms) advise that I need to add my keyword to the page URL, however as far as I'm concerned it has been, so why don't these platforms see it. My home page URL is www.salesandinternetmarketing.com, but apparently I haven't added the keyword internet marketing to the URL, what advice can you give me please? Lindsay

Different links to to the same page
Hi, Based on the user's actions we post activity into users Facebook timeline. And each activity has link back to our particular page on our website. For example if original page was: www.Domain.com from Facebook timeline it would be like this: www.Domain.com?Ffb_action_ids=101508953168 Do you think this will have a negative effect on our page rankings as we will eded up having a lot of different URL's to the same page? www.Domain.com?Ffb_action_ids=101508953168 www.Domain.com?Ffb_action_ids=456788765609 etc.. Thank you, Karen Bdoyan

Google News URL Format
Hi, We are currently redesigning our gaming website (www.totallygn.com) and one of our main goals is to get listed by Google News in future. Looking at the Google News URL requirements "The URL for each article must contain a unique number consisting of at least three digits." How does the above affect SEO structure? I was planning on using a format such as www.totallygn.com/xbox-360/360-reviews/fifa-12-review how would this compare to something like? www.totallygn.com/xbox-360/360-reviews/fifa-12-review234 Thanks in advance for your help

Subdomains at Yola, Blogger, Wordpress
If the purpose of constructing a site or blog is for SEO ie a linking microsite, is it better to keep as a subdomain or to register on its own domain. The question is how much of the Domain Authority of that site will flow through the subdomain to linked site. I note that these subdomains have PA of 1, does this answer my own question?? Thanks eg widgets.yolasite.com or widgets.wordpress.com
