Keyword Difficulty tool showing Google search volume or Bing?
-
Hi,
I plugged in a bunch of keywords to know their search volume, chose Google from the drop down and then chose English from the next dropdown and clicked on Check dificulty.
It shoes me "Bing Search Volume (Exact Match)" on top but shows the name of the keyword and "for Google CA" on the left.
Is the search volume for Google? or Bing? and the difficulty as well? Google or Bing?

Nick - Probably a dumb question but I want to confirm my understanding. I know all search Volume metrics are estimates at best, but .... reporting a search volume from Bing as 100 searches/month is intended to represent actual searches on Bing, right? Assuming Google gets 5-10 times more search volume depending on the keyword, in terms of actual volume a keyword If I see a kw that gets 100 searches on Bing, it might get 500+ on Google (just broadly estimating), correct?
Just wanted to confirm that Moz doesn't adjust the Bing volume to account for their lower share of search, and normalize the numbers up to estimate the search volume across all search engines.
Thanks!

We use Bing for the search volume estimations regardless of the search engine you select. Google doesn't share their search volume information with us, so we aren't able to include Google search volume in the tool. Still, the Keyword Difficulty score that we calculate does take the search engine into account, so if you're looking to get a sense of how difficult it is to rank in the top 10 in Google, our difficulty score will reflect that.

Keyword Volume - as compared to keyword planner and other tools.
Hi in the rankings for my keywords, the monthly range is so much lower than other keyword tools I use, including google keyword planner, semrush and longtail pro (which all match and show a number much higher than Moz). Support said it's because those tools may group like keywords or singular/plural versions where Moz truly separates each term as a separate term, hence more specific and precise. My question is: If google does somewhat group plural/singular and close match keywords, then wouldn’t it not matter anyways - if someone types a close match keyword and my keyword ends up triggering/displaying as if they typed my targeted keyword - then wouldn’t it still fall under the larger number if in the end it works in displaying my website as a result? If google changes search "blue sky" to "sky that is blue", and you get the same ranking for either of those two keywords then in the end does it matter? I'm thrown for a loop as I spent time optimizing my website based on numbers I received from the other tools and now seeing a much lower number for said keywords and possibly a little higher for a different variation of it, I don't know what to do.

What does "Optimal Use of Keywords in Header Tags" really mean?
I get this explanation on the grader: Although using targeted keywords in H1 tags on your page does not directly correlate to high rankings, it does appear to provide some slight value. It's also considered a best practice for accessibility and helps potential visitors determine your page's content, so we recommend it. Over-using keywords, however, can be perceived as keyword stuffing (a form of search engine spam) and can negatively impact rankings, so use keywords in H1 tags two or fewer times. To adhere to best practices in Google News and Bing News, headlines should contain the relevant keyword target and be treated with the same importance as title tags. But I have the keyword in an H1 tag, only once. So why am getting this message on the grader? The URL is https://www.armsecuritysystems.com/business-security-systems/ The keyword is "business security systems" Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

On Page Grader Returning Large # of Keywords
When using the on-page grader the results show the below for a page with a specific keyword in the body only 5 times : We found this keyword used 1100 times. Any Idea why this would be showing such a high number? The keywords are in Thai language but there is a space before and after the keyword. Thanks.

On-page Grader and Cyrillic keywords
Hi all, I'm trying out the On-page grader and i see "funny" output when it comes to cyrillic keywords. I can see 73 occurrences in the title, 108 in the meta description tag, 34 in the H1 tag, etc. etc... Of course, these are not correct and i've manually checked. I've tested a few other pages in Bulgarian, using Cyrillic kewords... same story 😞 Please, let me know if there's something i'm missing, as this is crucial for my work. Thanks in advance.

How to get Universal Results to Show in Reports?
This has been a source of frustration for me for a long time. I have asked many times and never found anything in the support documentation on how to add this. Is it something that is simply not offered? If so is it not outrageous to others that this simple feature is not present? What I want: I would like to be able to include Universal Results icons in my rank reports. Why? Well as is the case much of the time my clients Google profile is included in the maps results (thanks to our optimization services) but they are not on the first page. The client can't see the results of this type of SEO. It shows up when logged in but not in the exported reports. How easy would it be to include these? It seems like a no-brainer. If anyone knows where to add them or why they don't automatically include them please let me know. If this feature is not offered I call upon my fellow SEO's to demand this feature. If anyone knows of a way to contact the developers to recommend adding this feature I would also appreciate that information. Thank you Universal Result: Local

Bing data in the keyword difficulty and SERP analysis tool
Hi Guys, I'm wondering about the exact match bing data in the Moz KWD & SERP analysis tool. We're looking at the ranking difficulty for given terms in Google but getting exact match bing numbers. Is the tool estimating Google searches from the bing data (perhaps a simple formula assuming maybe 10% search totals for Bing, 60% for Google or whatever is closest these days) or is it just raw bing numbers that we then have to upsize in order to estimate search numbers in Google? Hope that makes some kind of sense! In other words - how are you guys using that Bing data when considering terms to target using this tool? Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Moz Rank Tracker doesn't work with "PHRASE" Keywords!?
Hello, If at http://ranktracker.moz.com trying to track phrase KW - the system wont accept it. But adding [EXACT] match with [] - works well. Have I missed something? Cheers.
