I'm noticing that URLs that were once indexed by Google are suddenly getting dropped without any error messages in Webmasters Tools, has anyone seen issues like this before?
Here's an example:
http://www.thefader.com/2017/01/11/the-carter-documentary-lil-wayne-black-lives-matter -
I tried your exact search and it's still not coming up for me.
I also used the GWT fetching and rendering tool on some other links that were once indexed and then removed- and what I noticed is that they would get reindexed for short time, and then will get removed from the index again.
We are submitting a sitemap through GWT and no errors are getting returned.
We must be having an issue with Google crawling our site, but I haven't been able to find anyone who has had a similar experience- do you know of any other things I can try to fix this issue. The main problem is that it's intermittent and there is no consistency as to why some of our links are indexed and some aren't.

With the site search, are you including "site:" in the search query before the URL, like in my example? You shouldn't be getting this thread in a site search if you're doing it right.
If the pages are indexed, then you just need to get them ranking in a better position. In which case, you should form an SEO strategy.
For sites that are no longer indexed, try fetching and rendering the URL in Google's Search Console to see if there's any issue. You can also request Google submit the URL to index through this tool.
If you haven't already, it would also be beneficial for you to submit your sitemap through Google's Search Console to improve Google's crawling of your site. It might just be that Google is having a hard time crawling your site, and that's why you're dropping links.

Neither one is showing as indexed for me, actually this messageboard thread is what I'm getting in my SERP.
I am noticing this randomly with a lot of our URLs, with no error messages in Webmasters Tools, any suggestions on how to fix this?

If you do a site search for the URL (just search in Google: "site:http://www.thefader.com/2017/01/09/lil-wayne-best-rapper-alive-rap-millennial-grows-up-essay" - without quotation marks), you can see if it's indexed in Google.
The first URL you gave was indexed for me. But the second one doesn't appear to be.

Hi Ria,
How are you determining that this URL has been indexed? When I search our page title, keywords that should return this result, or even the direct URL- this page doesn't show in any of the search results.
Here's another example that doesn't seem to be indexed:
http://www.thefader.com/2017/01/09/lil-wayne-best-rapper-alive-rap-millennial-grows-up-essayAm I missing something obvious?

I'm seeing that URL as being indexed in Google. Do you have any other examples?

Will disallowing URL's in the robots.txt file stop those URL's being indexed by Google
I found a lot of duplicate title tags showing in Google Webmaster Tools. When I visited the URL's that these duplicates belonged to, I found that they were just images from a gallery that we didn't particularly want Google to index. There is no benefit to the end user in these image pages being indexed in Google. Our developer has told us that these urls are created by a module and are not "real" pages in the CMS. They would like to add the following to our robots.txt file Disallow: /catalog/product/gallery/ QUESTION: If the these pages are already indexed by Google, will this adjustment to the robots.txt file help to remove the pages from the index? We don't want these pages to be found.

Google Webmaster Tools Parameters
We have several large ecommerce websites, and we've added some tracking parameters to GWT for google to ignore. All pages are correctly canonicaled. Google has been ignoring the parameters and the canonicals, and still ranks many parametered pages for us. Has anyone run into this?

Traffic dropped suddenly
-In early January 2013, we had to switch servers after many years with the same one. We were highly ranked and getting about 8500 unique visitors per month. -We didn't notice the traffic falling because we were focussed on a major site redesign and addition that we launched in April 2013. Visits continued to fall, this time also because the company that launched it didn't double check their work and had some dead links etc. Those were all fixed by approximately June 2013.- early January 2014 we switched servers again because we were afraid the new server we moved to was perhaps ranked poorly or was possibly a spamming site before. Currently, nothing has changed. What was about 8500 unique visitors per month 18 months ago, is now about 1,000 and no leads are coming in at all.

Webmaster Tools (Urgent)
So yesterday google webmaster tools has over 5,000 links linking to my site. I get in this morniing and now i have 16 links linking to my site and no rankings minus brand terms. I do not believe that I have been penalized but I might have been. After digging further into this it seems that my www.domain.com and domain.com are separated and webmaster tools is tracking www.domain.com and majority of links are to domain.com. Is this possible or am I wishing to see something that is not there. Any help and recommendations would be absolutely appreciated.

URL errors in Google Webmaster Tool
Hi Within Google Webmaster Tool 'Crawl errors' report by clicking 'Not found' it shows 404 errors its found. By clicking any column headings and it will reorder them. One column is 'Priority' - do you think Google is telling me its ranked the errors in priority of needing a fix? There is no reference to this in the Webmaster tool help. Many thanks Nigel

Indexing issue?
Hey guys when I do a search of site:thetechblock.com query in Google I don't seem to see any recent posts (nothing for August). In Google webmaster I see that the site is being crawled (I think), but I'm not sure. I also see the the sitemaps are being indexed but again it just seems really odd that I'm not seeing these in Google results. SEO seems all good too with SEO Moz. Is there something I'm not getting?

Can some brilliant mozzer out there teach a moron/newbie like me how to 301 redirect several URL's I have?
Okay - I am a supermodel. I look pretty. My legs are amazing. My cheekbones are high. But when it comes to 301 redirects I am the ugliest supermodel on the block. Crap, here is the truth: I am not even a supermodel. I am just a middle-aged, goofy looking dude who is a newbie to fixing websites. I have inherited several sites from a friend and I have been helping by creating solid contextual links internally and externally for a while. But, when Roger the wondrous SEOMoz robot talks to me, he says, "oops, it looks like your foolish freak self has a site that has both a www. and a non-www, which can create competition for yourself." What do I do when he says that? I just whisper a "thank-you" but gently press the skip this step button and go on with my life because I do not know how to make my non-www.'s redirect into the www. sites... Now, I have sort of asked this question on the site before, but I was answered by someone who does not understand my level of ignorance. any use of the word canonical or just put this lfwjkshj.htp/php inside the left ear of your mom, does not tell me anything so, is there any willing and kind soul who can walk me through redirecting several of my sites to their proper home - kind of like Carl Chubbs Weathers did for Happy Gilmore in that Academy Award winning classic? Thanks for the help in advance best, dumbhead
