Change of URL + SEO Impact

We recently changed the URLs from our site
http://www.website.com (old)
https://website.com/us/en/ (new)Our ranking is plummeting every since and I wonder if the new URL had something to do with it.
Do you know if that change, could have impacted the ranking?

I think I might have found the problem.
We're actually, using a 302 redirect from .com to .com/us/en/. From my understanding that doesn't transfer the ranking, right?
We use a 302 redirect, because we have multiple stores:
https://website.com/us/en/ > United States
https://website.com/xl/en/ > Global Store
https://website.com.au > AustraliaIf an user visits www.website.com from Australia we send him to https://website.com.au.
I'm thinking we should use a redirect 301 to the /us/en/ and keep the 302 for all the other ones.
Does it make sense?

Sorry, I didn't give the whole information. We're actually using redirects from .com to .com/us/en/.
However, when I look at the URL authority I get different figures. The url .com/ has a much bigger authority, even though it redirects to the .com/us/en/. That's why I'm thinking it's having a bad impact on SEO.

Yip that is exactly why your rankings are plummeting. Its important to always do an SEO migration if your URL structure is going to be changing.
I would recommend that you have a 301 redirect added from the old URL to the new one. If your website has been ranking well and attracting organic traffic for a long time, hopefully you have Google Analytics installed. Then I would suggest having a look at your top organic landing pages for at least the past year and ensuring that you setup 301 redirects from the old to new pages. Thats if your old pages are still indexed in Google.
If you had Google Search console linked then you also need to create a new profile as I see you now have https setup.
Anyway I hope some of this info helps and you manage to salvage some organic value and rankings.

Using the Same Word in Every URL
Just looking to get some opinions on this. Some coupon sites use "coupon" in all of their URLs - this is a practice I would avoid, as to me it is a little spammy. For example:

.com/walmart-coupons/
... and so on for thousands of other brands. I don't think this is necessary, as Google will understand from the content, backlinks and the domain name (including the word "coupon") that brand pages are coupon-focused. Any other thoughts on this?0 -

A few of quick SEO questions regarding header tags: More than one tag per page. If there is more than one tag on a page: are both taken into consideration and what if they contain the same keyword? Eg on the page: http://en.emilea.be/childrens-clothes/molo/boys/cardigans-and-sweaters/ MoloBoysCardigans & sweaters ... Molo childrens clothes Is the 2nd considered when indexing the page? Since both tags contain the same keyword (but in different context) is this a SEO plus or minus? Nested tags inside header tags. An ecomerce seo question
Looking for a few opinions on this please...Trying to reduce the number of pages I have to seo to rank on my websites and at the same time avoid the google over optimisation issues. Previously on our ecomerce websites we would have a category page for, say, 12 times, we would then seo that page for generic terms related to the page; ie, blue dress, cheap blue dress, blue party dress etc. The individual product pages would then be seoed with the title and h1 tags containing the exact product name and the url containing the product name too. This worked fine but we are suffering from some duplicate content issues of late (the products are mixture of few unique items and probably 95% imported affiliate datafeeds) as we have an average of 80,000 products per store we have neither the time nor the staff to rewrite everything (the products update daily directly from the merchants so would need to be done daily) What we are planning on moving toward is blocking the individual product pages from Google and instead putting all efforts into the category pages. The category page will contain plenty of quality unique content related to the category so the only duplicate content would be a line of the product name and price. Whilst we would still rank the category page for broad keywords we also would like to now rank the category page for 16 individual product names as there is a good profit to make made by the sheer volume of product names we plan on ranking for. Obviously we could not get all the products into the url and the page title as that would be silly but would it be acceptable to have multiple h2 tags on the page, each with a different entry, the product names (H1 will be saved for the category name). We can easily bold these keywords to help in the optimisation as per the seo moz onsite analysis tool and we can add image text to ensure the product name is featured at least twice on the page. As so few sites actually seo for the long tail product names, most retailers rank by virtue of their domain quality alone, our onsite seo doesn't have to be 100% but getting the best we can out of the page will help the efforts. Hotspot area for SEO
Hi, we have an online store: http://www.redwrappings.com.au/ There's been a debate regarding which area is recognised to be the most important place/hotspot for SEO: Free delivery van area (top left panel) OR Top menu navigation Given that if you look at the page html source code, the top navigation loads last and the free delivery fan area is the first one to be read in the html source code. We did this because we want the body page content (h1 & text content) to be read first by search engine robot & also the body can load faster for the user. Is this the right thing to do or we better off load the top navigation first? Thanks
