Which Survey Tools Have You Used? (or know of?)
-
I'm looking for a website survey tool so I can get more targeted feedback from my users. I've looked at a few (4Q, KISSInsights) so far but I think I might need something more robust.
There are specific actions that users are taking on our websites that we would like to investigate deeper so I need a tool that can either only survey users who perform that action (users who bounce, users who enter via a specific page, users who visit a landing page but don't convert, etc) or at least let me segment after the fact so I can identify feedback from a specific type of user.
I would appreciate any specific tools that you know of that can accomplish this type of targeting. You don't even need to describe it, just provide a link and I'll give you a thumbs up.
Thanks

+1 for Survey Monkey! It's easy to implement and provides good reporting as well.

Used by some large companies and SEOmoz.

SurveyGizmo.com has a very robust feature set but the logic that you want is not something I've seen any survey engine provide that can be built into your site.

Using Anchor Link in the Main Navigation
Has anyone ever used anchor links as a drop-down in a sub-collection from the main navigation and does it have any negative impact on link equity? My client has large product collections and sub-collections, these are then separated into further subsections which are open within the same page (see attached). What I want to do ideally is in the main navigation feature 'Mad Hatter Costumes and Accessories'. This will obviously have a # in the URL though and I am was wondering if this might hurt the chance of the page ranking? If anyone has any experience in this it would be really helpful!! Thanks in advance 🙂 m5Qd5VO

Better use Google Analytics? This is for Conversion Rate Optimization purposes
Hi Moz-ers, I've had much help from the Moz community and hoping you can help me out on this one too. I would like to track everyone who visits our town listing pages. We operate much like ratings and reviews websites like tripadvisor and booking.com. What is the best way to track visitors coming to our listings pages only (for example tripadvisor shows top 10 hotels in London.) I would like Google Analytics on London and all other towns including Birmingham, Southampton ect... Is it possible to set up Google analytics to track this? These are our highest volume pages so having an idea of the traffic behaviour is crucial for SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization. As usual, looking forward to the advice we receive! Thanks,

Using my Adwords budget
Hi, I have a huge budget for adwords but I only seem to be using about 1/10 of it daily. How to I go about using more budget but also keeping my conversion costs and % around the same? And should each campaign have its own set of unique keywords? Should these keywords never appear in more than 1 campaign? Any tips on maximising budget and increasing conversions would be great. Thanks

Text for Survey Button
I have a survey on my website I was hoping my subscribers would take. Responses have been real low . I have had a button in different spots, but I think it's the text of that button that needs to be changed: Right now, its "Win an ipad, Give Us Your Feedback" What other text would encourage people to take a survey?

Using overlay content on landing pages - possible? recommended?
We want to use an overlay, like a modal dialog, in a landing page to show more information to support conversion without linking to another page or using popups. Anyone have any stats on success or risks? We've considered simple roll-overs to provide some more info, but everyone has raised alarms that we may be introducing a potential technical or usability hurdle for users. The overlay would display when someone rolled over or clicked a "Learn More" link on the page to provide additional offer reinforcement points to drive the visitors from consideration to conversion. Aside from our own testing, we don't have any sources to cite as to whether this approach can or will impact or aid conversion. Any insights would be appreciated.
