How do i Organize an XML Sitemap for Google Webmaster Tools?
-
OK, so i used am xlm sitemap generator tool, xml-sitemaps.com, for Google Webmaster Tools submission. The problem is that the priorities are all out of wack.
How on earth do i organize it with 1000's of pages??
Should i be spending hours organizing it?
-
I'm sure there are some people that do prioritize their sitemap manually, but not me. I don't think the priority setting is THAT important!
-
part of it is our blog the other part is not CMS but 30+ pages. Do people organize it manually. Is it really worth it?
-
I'm assuming that you have a CMS? Maybe you can program your CMS to generate the sitemap and automatically assign priorities. If not, don't worry about it - the priorities only apply to crawl priority, not rankings.

Sitemap error in Webmaster tools - 409 error (conflict)
Hey guys, I'm getting this weird error when I submit my sitemap to Google. It says I'm getting a 409 error in my post-sitemap.xml file (https://cleargear.com/post-sitemap.xml). But when I check it, it looks totally fine. I am using YoastSEO to generate the sitemap.xml file. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a big deal? If so, Does anyone know how to fix? Thanks EwTswL4

No structured sitemap
Hello We face this problem that a lot of sitemaps are structurally not good. In this case we used the WP sitemap plugin to generate the website sitemap and Google XML sitemaps to generate the sitemap for Google. We also bought the Yoast premium plugin, but we can read in the backend that the plugin XML sitemaps may cause problems in combination with Yoast. Normally the Google XML sitemap generator improves SEO using sitemaps for the best indexation by search engines, but the structure is not as we want it. Will Yoast be a better solution to generate structured sitemaps? This is a section from the current sitemap of www.rovana.be. We would like more structure in the different product categories. Producten Zonwering Zonnescherm

Hi guys please help me to solve this webmaster tools issue and downfall of clicks and impressions. What is the Issue : I have managed hills self storage site since long time, but recently ( since few weeks ) in webmaster what I noticed is that, there is a constant reduction in clicks which reached zero thereafter it has been continuously stuck to zero, however impressions too started decreasing from the same time period and that too reached gradually to zero. What I have tested : I have tested Analytics Traffic which is increasing gradually Keywords ranking in Google Australia is also increasing gradually Before October 2014 Total links are 200+, In mid October 2014 it has started decreasing gradually & now it is showing “No Data Available”. 301 redirection is perfect, google fetching is also ok. What Enhancement we did : Site moved to a new server in October 2014 We switched our site pages from “http” to “https” in October 2014 Kindly reply to my above queries so that I can get back to my “Total Links”, “correct impressions” and “clicks” as previously in the webmaster tools ? What may be the reason a sitemap is not indexed in Webmaster Tools?
Hi,
Technical SEO | | SorinaDascalu
I have a problem with a client's website. I searched many related questions here about the same problem but couldn't figure out a solution. Their website is in 2 languages and they submitted 2 sitemaps to Webmaster Tools. One got 100% indexed. From the second one, from over 800 URLs only 32 are indexed. I checked the following hypothesis why the second sitemap may not get indexed: sitemap is wrongly formatted - False sitemap contains URLs that don't return 200 status - False, there are no URLs that return 404, 301 or 302 status codes sitemap contains URLs that are blocked by robots.txt - False internal duplicate content problems - False issues with meta canonical tags - False For clarification, URLs from the sitemap that is not indexed completely also don't show up in Google index. Can someone tell me what can I also check to fix this issue?0 -
When should we use Remove URLs feature on Google Webmasters Tool?
Hi there, I run an ecommerce website on Magento. We are no longer using a category. It actually does not appear on the menu: mydomain.com/category.html If this is the case, do you recommend to remove it through the Removal URL feature on GWT? I don't want this to affect the juice of other links of the site such as: mydomain.com/product.html Thanks very much. Regards
