Link exchange Trick?
-
As a lot of you people doing link building may have encountered most people we approach want a link exchange
Ex:
"I am willing to put a link on my site if you put one on yours."
Now the question I had from this ... if I link to a specific website with rel="nofollow" and they link to me normally.
Would it be of any value or because the 2 websites link to each other regardless of follow or nofollow the links have no value?

Hi Ennovation -
To directly answer your question, if you nofollow the link back, they will not receive any credit for your link. If they have a followed link to you, then you do receive credit. Simple as that. People doing link exchanges are usually quite wise to this, though, and when they find that you nofollowed the link to them, they will often remove the link that is pointing to your site.
I also have to tell you that I don't recommend link exchanges. I suspect that pages that exist just for link exchanges, or sites offering them, are quite discounted in Google. Plus, it ends up looking quite spammy, even if the sites you are exchanging links with are in your niche.
Since you are already thinking about building and keeping relationships with people, why not take it a step further beyond a link exchange, and instead do a guest post for them? If they want to do one for you as well, I think that's totally fine.
Good luck.

Hi Harald ...
I know what nofollow means and the purpose of it...
Keeping it short I want to know if I get value from a link if i link back to it with rel=nofollow

Hi Ennovation , As we know that link exchange is done to bring a large amount of traffic to your blog. Link exchange helps in bringing the traffic to the blogs & websites.
In link exchange you have to kept one thing in mind that instead of mailing thousands of webmasters pick the one that you feel would be the best for your niche- not only for link exchange but for maintaining longer relationship in that niche. Then cal them! for link exchange.
Always remembered that link exchange request will be done from related niche or same niche, otherwise it will be spammy.
After the link exchange request are accepted then it is depend on us to gave the do follow or no follow link. Most of the times we provide the no follow links. Do follow depend on the admin of the website , if they think that the content is helpful ,for others users also the admin make the link do follow.
For more details on the rel= no follow, refer the below blog:
I hope that your query had been solved.

What does google think about legit link exchanges where one is follow and one is no follow?
Hi Experts! Here is my Question for you. I am doing a link exchange in a legit way to increase sales for my site and my associate's site. My associate just wants a sales increase and no link juice. He has a very low DA so I want to give him a no follow link. Is it suspicious of fishy that I give a no follow link and receive a followed link in return? Please let me know how to proceed, I don't want to take any changes. Can you tell me the best way to proceed with this link exchange? Thanks

Link Building
Hi Mozzers, I work for an IT company specialising in outsourcing Cisco Engineers worldwide. Due to being involved heavily in outsourcing, I'm finding it impossible to generate genuine and organic links to our website. My question is that is it essential to have back links back to our website to achieve high search engine rankings? I'm unable to get clients and other partners to provide links as we're the outsourced company, but I can get backlinks from unrelated c ompanies. For example we're running a CSR initiative with a National Gym relating to health & fitness, also links from our web designers etc... Do these links have any type of value? Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Jason 🙂

Houzz Comment Links
A company I am working with has been posting pictures and links to their website in the comments section of Houzz articles. I notice many companies have been doing this in general. While it generates decent amounts of traffic, I am wondering if google sees 30 links coming from article comments that it will deem that as spam? My gut tells me to send these comment links to the Houzz member profile, then direct them to your own website. Thoughts? ***Anyone in home design, decor, etc. should really get involved there. Fantastic source of business for professional in that field.

Link Builder Recommendations
I've been looking for a link building company-person for ages now and can't seem to find someone worthwhile. The reason of course is that most of what I have seen is that they don't actually know what they are doing. I can link build but don't have enough time, I am looking for someone to build links to inner pages of my site to get its authority up without risking getting hit by any update or banging my head against the wall 6 months from now. Im on a shoestring budget but I think it would be enough to get someone worthwhile to do some long term link building. Anyone have some good recommendations for lets say $500 or less a month ?

OSE shows links on sites but can't find links
Hi mozzers, I'm cleaning up our backlink profile and looking up anchortexts in OSE. I downloaded and selected one anchortext. However when I go to the sites OSE found, I can't find the links. I look in the source code and onpage keywords. Is it because of my lack of skills that I can't find the links 🙂 or isn't OSE working properly.

Link Directory
I am not an SEO expert by any means, just trying to improve the ranking of my own personal real estate site. Are directory links good for backlinks, or are they a waster of time?

New ways to get links (excluding on site link bait)?
Fellow SEOs, I’m looking for a new way to reach out to bloggers and site owners for links. There are quite a few link bait techniques to lure bloggers thanks to = amazing content, infographics,...but there are not so many articles on ways to contact bloggers/webmasters and ask for links... We all know that contacting site owners directly and politely asking then to place a link on their home page is as useful as a comb in Bruce willis’s hand. Link exchange is as dead as the Dodo and business partner links are usefull and easier to get but opportunities are often limited. I have been organizing contests for bloggers recently and it has been quite successful up to now, but I always like to have a spare trick up my sleeve. So if any of you have a decent method to reach out to bloggers/webmaster and get decent links please let me know, I will be forever thankful ; ) Cheers
