Facebook Like on URLs
-
I have a doubt regarding the facebook LIKES for URLs
Case 1: By using a Facebook Like Button (for URL) on my page(s). Here people are coming to my page and giving like directly on my page.
Case 2: Here i'm not using any Facebook Like plugins on page, But my page got shared on facebook pages and profiles. And people are giving likes on facebook.com for my shared links.
Is this two count as different methods? Explain me please.
-
One way to see the differences is to use a free tool like http://sharedcount.com/ it shows you Facebook likes, shares and comments which are all different items.
-
api.facebook.com/restserver.php?method=links.getStats&urls=http://www.domain.com
change www.domain.com to yours and you will see exactly the stats of your domain name.
The Like plugin with [button] #125 number usually includes likes+shares...
-
Facebook shares and facebook likes are different. As someone can share a post they see on a friends wall and it is not added to that page's like count.
If you want to check the like count for certain urls quickly, I prefer to use the excel plugin for SEO
http://nielsbosma.se/projects/seotools/
Just do not try and do a few thousand urls as it will take a bit.

Facebook got rid of "Invite" from page likes?
Hi guys. Just found out "awesome" update from facebook - no way to invite people who liked page post. Anyone else seeing this? Anymore info? https://www.facebook.com/regexseo/posts/993562270758881 https://www.reddit.com/r/socialmedia/comments/4nopz5/did_facebook_just_end_the_ability_to_invite_page/

Will Facebook traffic hurt our SEO? Should we put our blog on the core domain or sub domain?
We are concerned that social traffic could hurt our SEO. What do you think... Our average time on site from organic search traffic is 7 minutes. Facebook traffic has an average time on site of 1 minute. Both traffic sources are going to different pages. If we generate 3 times as much traffic from Facebook as we do from google this will pull down our overall average time on site and engagement levels big time. Should we put our blog on the core domain or a subdomain? Right now we are holding back on promoting on facebook because we are concerned it could hurt our SEO, what do you think? Should we try to get as much traffic as possible from Facebook even though the engagement is much lower? Should we put our blog which is generating the low engagement traffic from facebook on the core domain or a subdomain?

Facebook Likes, What are your thoughts on people begging for them?
Hi There, I'm seeing more and more businesses (especially small businesses) setting up Facebook pages and then almost begging people to like them with lines such as "lets see if we can get to 200 likes", etc etc. What are your thoughts on this does it really help and do you think Google will find a way to not count them as spammy?

Should I adopt Google Plus Custom URLs?
Google Plus have just released Custom URLs, see here So instead of the messy https://plus.google.com/b/012345679 you can have http://www.google.com/+{yourbrandname}. This would be much better for memorizing. But any opinions on added or future perceived SEO benefit?

Whats the SEO value of getting Likes to your brand's Facebook Page (not your site's URLs being Liked)?
UPDATED: I meant to say SEO VALUE, not just business value Lets say I have a site - www.company.com, and I set up a Facebook Page - www.facebook.com/company. I understand the SEO value of having the domain www.company.com "Liked", using the FB Like button on my homepage lets say, or the same goes for individual pages - www.company.com/page. My question is rather about having my Facebook Page - Facebook.com/company "Liked". Are those likes counted by the engines as a strong signal that www.company.com should rank well? Or only that the Facebook Page - Facebook.com/company should rank well in searches for that company?

Facebook business page
Hello Can you help me. I'm starting out in SEO and sometimes I think I miss the Elephant in the room. I have tried and tried to find our via 'Google' or 'Seomoz' articles the answer to this question. How does 'Google Panda' link a facebook business page to it's actual business website if the url is not identical eg 'www.setteeherts.co.uk' 2 'www.facebook.com/settee-herts'? As no one is talking about this I'm assuming I am missing the elephant. If you can see it can you point it out gently? ta!
