Competitor's Ranking's Reports are Showing Blank Values for Rankings
-
When selecting competitors to see how they rank for specific terms in the ranking's report page here, it loads the page normally, but without any actual rankings. Where values should be, it lists all values as our competition not ranking whatsoever (for all competitors).
I'm not sure if there is something we're doing wrong, or perhaps we just need to wait for a refresh, but if anybody could help out, that would be wonderful!

Hey, I checked out your campaigns and it looks like you've got your competitors URLs entered incorrectly.
Your have all three set with the non-www form of the URL when they all utilize 301 redirect do the www form. Because of that they any of their rankings are going to include the www.
You'll want to change the competitors to match their actual URL and you should them update with rankings info the next cycle.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Joel. -

Has this been fixed. Cause I still see the same issue for us.

Hi Robert,
We're having a problem with our rankings tracker right now, so it's our problem and not something you're doing wrong. So sorry about that. We're working on fixing things up as fast as we can.

Why would a newly created site, have ranked ahead of our site for keyword that we are optimized for?
This newly created site has a DA of 1 and PA of 1, no backlinks, no optimized urls, the keyword they ranked better than us on was listed a total of 6 times on the homepage. Our PA is 29 and DA is 18 for the page that ranks for this keyword. They really copied a few elements of our site but made sure to change a few things, but also list at the bottom of their site 5 keywords that are crucial to our niche industry but they're all linking to the same page. Any ideas? It's an SEO guy running the site, we've watched them toy with adwords trying to be number 1, but not liking the price, so they are here and there with it. Mainly I don't see why they'd rank better for this keyword, we our site have prolly 500% more content that's both of quality and relevance to our customers, in the form of Pdfs, infographics, help sections, and video. Very baffled here, any advice would rock!

Competitor Keywords
Is there any way to find out what keywords my competitors are ranking for? I would like ideas for blogs, website content, etc. to drive traffic and am curious as to what topics my competitors are focusing on. I am able to see my competitors' rankings for keywords which I am currently tracking but I would like to see keywords they are ranking for that I am not tracking if possible. Any suggestions? Josh

Methods for estimating competitor website traffic from natural search
Hi all, I'm currently working on some competitor analysis and estimating website traffic based on rankings and estimated search volume for approximately 500 keywords. I'm then estimating based on click through rate from Webmaster tools. I think this will give me a relatively accurate estimation but was wondering how everyone else does this? Any other methods out there? Thanks, Elias

Competitor reporting
We are in the process of creating customer profiles, conducting in-depth keyword/competitor research, fleshing out a content strategy, addressing old content, meta data etc, and researching sites (particular industry news sites) relevant to our industry who could be sources of authoritative backlinks. Once we receive approval from the powers that be, we'll start putting our strategy in motion. However, we are looking at SEO efforts as a long-term plan the entire organization understands is necessary. If our strategy is sound, I would think we'll start seeing results and some competitors will begin to take notice (and action.) So here is my question: How easy is it for a competitor to "report" a small/medium size business as breaking Google's rules i.e. could a competitor claim we are scraping their content (or content off of any site for that matter) and anonymously email Google? I think the answer to that question is "yes." How closely would Google look into the claim? We have zero plans on doing anything shady or underhanded but I was wondering if it is a simple process for a competitor to impact our efforts this way? Thanks for any insight.

Can anyone suggest a AHREF's alternative?
Hello Everyone,
Competitive Research | | Juratovic
Now that AHref's has killed their keyword analysis I am on the search for a substitute.I just can't see paying $80 per month for their link analysis only even-though I do find their link index to be much much much more updated then any other company even SeoMoz (sorry Rand and company). Does anyone have any suggestions? SemRush is the only one I have seen to come close. Thank you! Pete0 -
Raise your hand if you're doing SEO for manufacturers please.
When you're working for a manufacturer it's not exactly the same as working for a company that is flat-out informing people with content and links and revealing a lot of information (relatively speaking). Please tell me what you do when you're working with a client that is not willing to reveal too much because competition = fear of the unknown (like if you take a chance and post something online that your competition may use against you). I would appreciate less speculative and more informed answers from people who have actually done this kind of work - as opposed to those who think theoretically they may know the best way to go because they work for other types of businesses that are not as proprietary as manufacturing is. Thank you.

Trying to rank against keyword in domain
I am trying to rank for let's say the keyword "their site" , my competitor has theirsite.com, with next to no seo but are ranking #1 , my site lets say is mysite.com/their-site my site is about the same age and has a PR of 4,their site has a PR of 0 and 2 backlinks, how difficult will it be to get to number 1, am at spot # 5 in google now. Thanks David
