Does social media work with boring clients?

OK, I'm not being rude, but I have a few clients who work in areas that really don't stimulate people - they are just needed.
Examples are:
Accountants
Chartered Surveyors
Forklift truck suppliersNot the most inspiring list...
So my question is whether to pursue the whole social media side of SEO with them. I mean, who wants to "like" their chartered surveyor? Do they have anything interesting to "tweet" about?
If anyone has experience of this type of field, then any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Accounting, at least, doesn't have to be boring. They could use social media to share their own content about small business tips, home budgeting tips, tax tips, etc. or to share and comment on news stories about the industry. Will you have a giant following? Probably not. But it's still worth a few minutes a day.
As for the other companies, those are very niche and not sexy. In that case, social media might be primarily about branding and relationship-building -- positioning yourself as a friendly, fun, family company by sharing stories about the workplace, the owner, etc. Then again, there might be a B2B network in those niches. You just have to expand a little. Who buys forklifts? Who hires surveyors? What would they find interesting?

We are an industrial manufacturer and although it probably does not help us directly, it still helps.
An example of this is for branding purposes. If someone is doing research on us, the content that we generate and distribute in social media may help them to chose us (we may be a "subject matter expert" in something they are looking for).

A lot of different niche's don't necessarily benefit from social media but as mentioned previous it is still good to have them. You need a platform to keep customers/users updated when things happen, such as site going down, press information, and relations.
Social media has a wide range of platforms, and it will most likely take time to find out which platform is most beneficial. Google+, Facebook, Twitter are usually obvious pluses, but I noticed LinkedIn works very well for a lot of these businesses.
LinkedIn is extremely good at connecting B2B relations.

Very difficult to get off of the ground and getting it to convert into any significant traffic is definitely a challenge and often not worth the effort.
However, how strong are social signals to Google. For instance does setting up automated twitter feeds to make 20 posts a day benefit you more than simply having a twitter account? For all we know Google could just give your site a checkmark yes or no if your company has a twitter account. I would at very least set up accounts for FB, Twitter and G+ and reciprocally link between them and your site so that Google knows you are in the social media space. Post a couple times a week, for an attorney there should always be some interesting cases in the news you could comment about for example, or just post about your work or a collegues work.

Niches like this are in the need for an advertising company if they will need to get social about it.
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUG9qYTJMsI - that was not done by an SEO company - it's done by an advertising company. It's a boring vertical and they did it. It's not an exact recipe for success but the basic idea is the same - if tehy can go viral they have the social side covered - if not - the ROI on social will be for sure negative.
If going this route - with something exceptional - is out of the question I would focus on other areas - you can have a good visibility and organic coverage without social with no problem - a lot of people are doing great without being involved in social.
I might be wrong - this is juts an opinion

Suggested Social Stream Solution for Wordpress
Hi, I was looking for some ideas on Wordpress for social streaming. What I am looking for is to show my activity in the right sidebar of a blog. I would like to capture this in an attractive way. My site has a lot of pictures so visual is very important. Now having some some searching there are a thousand "share this" type plugins. My need is different in that I want to show the activity of what I am sharing in: FB, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. I found this plugin below that has several nice formats. Wordpress Socialize Plugin giving me 400+ 302s. Should I be concerned?
Looking at my report and saw I had over 400 302s. When I looked where they came from, it seems it's from a plugin called socialize sending stuff to Facebook. Does it matter?

Social Media Strategy and Tactics for sensitive counselling industry
With my business I had always intended kicking social media into gear much sooner but various other pressures put this back somewhat. Counselling is quite sensitive for a variety of reasons:- We want to disassociate ourselves from the masses of non- professional folksy type "advice" that dominates the net, People, particularly in the UK often do not talk about mental health issues nor would we always want people to if they had not protected their privacy enough. Key marketing messages such as "get the first class service you deserve" (in UK people are more likely to wait 6 months to be seen by a trainee with no choice of who they see or when they see it than pay for counselling, "there are no quick fixes for mental health and counselling can make a real difference to your life if you invest time, energy and cost into it" (in a market where read this 300 word article to never feel stressed again dominates) and "what help choosing the counsellor who is best suited to you" - are not the sort of thing many people are likely to "like" or share with friends. At the moment I am looking to focus on LinkedIn (for corporate work), Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. I have a blog which is going to be producing excellent daily content including people's positive experiences of counselling, comprehensive self help tips, counsellor advice etc. On Google+ and Facebook I am looking to autopublish some of the blog posts and there are probably some other channels I will autopublish to but I do not yet know which to go for. Initially I am going to do little else on Google+ to focus time and energy developing Facebook and Twitter. I am trying to achieve the following:- Social Legitimacy - having decent number of engaged fans will make us seem more legitimate in an industry where trust is important (only 14 FB likes so far is not a good start) Engaging with Potential Content Creators - Reaching out to people who have experienced mental health issues so that this content can be used to provide peer support to others and enable them to see benefits of counselling Creating relationships with people and organisations where we can cross promote each other's initiatives, potentially co-deliver services in the future (community counselling work etc) Bring traffic to my site that will potentially convert into counselling clients in several cities in the UK through both people finding Promote my content more widely than is happening with organic search, reach different audiences, engage with potential customers, generate links to quality content I create Develop the social infrastructure to be able to leverage it for future goals, whether promoting an article, raising awareness for good mental health initiatives (that may have no financial benefit to the business but will help people) etc. Sorry this is so long but any comments, ideas, suggested tactics etc would be appreciated.

Incentivisation Strategies for Social Sharing of Product Pages
Hey, What are some great tips for gaining social shares on ecommerce product or category pages? I understand great images and video will go along way, but it's difficult on a large scale ecommerce store. Receiving an offer for sharing something is great - I honestly cant think of a way to track this strategy in a large scale manner. I can send an email after a purchase making an offer to go back to the page to share, but how would I track this? Thanks.
