W3C html5 meta tags invalid?
-
Dear Mozers,
we get errors when validating meta tags in html5.
I know it's experimental and not all metas are valid, but how do you handle this? Leave the tags out?
here are some examples:
`…name="DC.title" content="my content...xyc.." /**>**` ``` `>` ``` `>` ``` `>` ``` `>` `>`
I tried to find some information but couldn't. What would you do? Thanks a lot, Barbara

Thanks a lot Oleg!!

Did some more research... those aren't valid name values - see this.
DC.title = <title>your title here</title>
author =
language =
copyright - no longer valid, just place it into your footer as regular text
reply-to - not sure what this does
cache - must be set via htaccess/server side. and http-equiv is no longer valid
Cheers

Hi Oleg,
thank you for your answer.
Here are the errors:
Bad value DC.title for attribute name on element meta: Keyword dc.title is not registered.
Bad value web_author for attribute name on element meta: Keyword web_author is not registered.
Bad value copyright for attribute name on element meta: Keyword copyright is not registered.
Bad value language for attribute name on element meta: Keyword language is not registered.
Bad value reply-to for attribute name on element meta: Keyword reply-to is not registered.
Bad value pragma for attribute http-equiv on element meta. -
What error is given? Those are still valid HTML5 tags - see this.
Only difference I see is self-close in your code.

Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions are not Indexing in Google
Hello Every one, I have a Wordpress website in which i installed All in SEO plugin and wrote meta titles and descriptions for each and every page and posts and submitted website to index. But after Google crawl the Meta Titles and Descriptions shown by Google are something different that are not found in Content. Even i verified the Cached version of the website and gone through Source code that crawled at that moment. the meta title which i have written is present there. Apart from this, the same URL's are displaying perfect meta titles and descriptions which i wrote in Yahoo and Bing Search Engines. Can anyone explain me how to resolve this issue. Website URL: thenewyou (dot) in Regards,

Do H2 tags carry more weight than h4 tags?
Of course H tags are key signals for relevance in search. Does an h2 tag send a significantly "louder" signal than an h4 tag?

H1 tag options
Hi, Working on a website and the developer has asked some questions about the h1 tag placement... So the main page has a bold heading named 'Overview' which then has a left hand navigation to tab through the content which appears next to the nav. The main content then has a heading and content below it. The 'Overview' heading appears on all pages of the left nav so really shouldn't be the H1 tag as it would cause duplication. One option we have thought about is to have the right hand heading above the content be the h1, and it has been suggested to stylize the 'Overview' heading but it won't actually be an h1. My question is would this have any negative impact on SEO? Thanks!

Hash tag
We are using the hash tag on our redesign for faceted search. So, for example it will look like this www.example.com#fun123. I was looking into how i could exclude my faceted search from my robots.txt, but i was recently told I wouldnt need to do this since Googlebot doesnt index the hash tags or anything after it anyway. All of the articles I've read online do not give me a straight answer. Has google answered this one for certain? Thanks!

Does iFrame content between the iFrame tag produce any conceivable value????
One of my clients is using a variety of unbounce pages for their web forms that are held in iFrames in the site template. This doesn't seem to produce much rank as it ranks very low in the search engines, and doesn't list in SEOMOZ as relevant to the keywords that I'm targetting it for. I'm thinking it may provide some benefit to replicate the content in between the iFrame tag, i.e. <iframe src="UnbouncePage.html">replicated content here</iframe>. Any thoughts on this Mozers?? Thankss
