Google Analytics Goals are not recording
-
Hello!
I've set up Goals within Google Analytics and they aren't registering. I'm wondering if someone can review what I've set up to see if I've entered something wrong.
I'm trying to track enrollments. Here's the site info:
Enroll URL: http://www.careplusdentalplans.com/individuals/enroll-careplus/
Upon completion, the user goes to a Thank You page and our CMS generates a trailing URL parameter. For example:
http://www.careplusdentalplans.com/index.php/individuals/enroll-careplus-thank-you/#123456789
My Goal info in GA:
Goal URL: /individuals/enroll-careplus-thank-you/
Match Type: Head Match (to disregard trailing URL parameter)
Goal Funnel: Step 1: /individuals/enroll-careplus/I'm curious if the problem lies in either:
The URL: Notice how the URL adds /index.php/ on the thank you page. In that case, should I enter the full URL in the Goal instead of the truncated URL?
The Funnel: Is it necessary to show the initial Enroll page or if I'll see that in the Flow Visualization regardless?
Thanks in advance for helping me out.
Erik

That worked. Thanks again, John!

Thanks for the quick reply, John. I'll give that a shot!

Head match means your goal URL has to match everything after your domain, not just the end of it. In other words, you should be using /index.php/individuals/enroll-careplus-thank-you/ as your goal URL.

Modify Google Analytics Script To Only Cookie U.S. Sessions
I know I can filter sessions from outside the US, but is there a way to modify the GA script so that it doesn't cookie visitors to a site if they are from outside the US? Note, this is separate from having a cookie consent opt-in. Thanks in advance,

How do you analyze a traffic drop with no historic Google Analytics data?
A client of mine has a large website with multiple sections (shop, forums, articles, etc.) that apparently had a significant reduction in rankings, traffic, and sales in the past. However, historic Google Analytics data is not available for the site, and I'm having troubles identifying anything concrete about the traffic drop, such as when it happened, what pages/sections it happened to, etc. The shop traffic drives most of the revenue, but it's a small number compared to the forums traffic, so it's hard to pick anything out of top-line trends like SEMrush offers. What tools or strategies might help in this situation?

Hi mozzers, We just launched a mobile site and I was wondering what are the main steps to follow for gettting your mobile site tracked via GA (m.example.com)? We have a profile for www.example.com GATC: javascript or PHP to install? Should the profile be on a subdomain? What else to consider when implementing a mobile site on GA? Thanks

Impressions in Google Analytics
I am trying to compare SERP impressions in Google Analtyics between two different time periods. I want to compare the last two months, with the previous two months. Now this works fine when I go to Traffic Sources > SEO > Queries. Our analytics has been set up since early last year, so I cannot understand why, for a couple of weeks at the start of the previous two months, it is showing that I have less than 10 impressions per day, then in one day, it jumps to 22,000 impressions, and starts to show 'real' information after that... Very frustrating when I am trying to show how effective my work has been. Can anyone shed any light on this?
