Transferring of analytic data
-
Hey SEOMoz community,
Question, we just purchased a business and while we didn't keep their website content we acquired their URLs and will be rebuilding the site.
We've asked for and been denied any historical analytic data e.g. they wont transfer admin rights over to us. Is there anyway to access historical data without being made an admin? or do we start from ground zero.
One of the reasons we're being given for not being allowed access is that "Google analytics and the associated keywords are the vendor's intellectual property" - given that we brought the brand doesn't that IP transfer over to us anyways?
Thanks,
PC

Thanks Francisco, I've got that feeling as well.
The communication is all going thru their lawyer, but i get the feeling he isn't as well versed in internet law as he thinks:). -
Sounds like these guys are trying to dodge you. Here's what probably happened. Someone opened GA under their personal gmail account and now doesn't know how to transfer it. If this is the case, you have to contact Google. I believe they can transfer the information over, but with the consent of the former owner. "If" the former owner doesn't want to transfer the info over, get a lawyer involved; preferably one versed in internet law.

Why No Goal is recorded in Google Analytics
Hello, I am not sure if i made an error. Can someone please point out. On our sales form, when a user submits the form, the URL displayed is - https://x-y.com/thank-you-2/ I created a Goal like this - 1 ) Under Goal set up, i choose Template option 2 ) Under Goal description, i choose Type > Destination 3 ) and finally, in Goal details field, destination equals to /thank-you-2/ But, no Goal is being tracked. In the first step, should i have selected 'Custom' instead of 'Template' Thanks

Google Analytics goals by source report?
Hello everybody. Is there way in Google analytics to create report on what goals have been completed per each source? Example: Lets say I have 3 goals: Subscription, Purchase, Quote. How can I get report, saying something like this: google / organic - Subscription - 5 conversions
Reporting & Analytics | | DmitriiK
Purchase - 3 conversions
Quote - 10 conversions and so on. P.S. Basically, I want the reverse of standard Google Analytics goal completions report, where you can click on goal and see which sources/mediums completions came from. I'd like to do the opposite - "click" on source/medium and see which goals have been completed. Thanks0 -

I want to know the bit of code that I have to add and all that UA can provide to get the most of my data for my ecommerce store. Thanks and regards

Google Analytics Showing Inflated Product Revenue
Hi- For the month of Feb on two of our sites we are seeing inflated product revenues. I have not seen this before and I am not having any luck searching for answers. Here is the issue: Product B sells for $159.95 For the month of Feb we sold 3 thus revenue should be ~$479.85 GA is showing Product B's revenue at $3,360.00 I read online that sometimes folks will bookmark the receipt page and that can cause this and we would need to put a catch in place for this but I am guessing this is not the case as it is happening on two sites. Please let me know if you have any questions.
