Cornerstone Page And Outbound Links
-
I have a cornerstone page and 10 related articles that all have links to the cornerstone page. My question is, should the cornerstone page link back to those 10 articles as well or will it lose juice by doing so?
Thanks in advance

Understood. I read EGOL for months before I really grokked what he was saying about how to optimize a site for search engines.

That is great and all. But since this entire site is devoted to search engine optimization, your suggestion to forget about optimizing my cornerstone page doesn't really help ...

Comment... I stopped thinking about linkjuice a long time ago. I don't regret it.
+1
I find things are easier now that I devote my energy developing content.

Thanks.
I guess all of my pages are cornerstones. Don't know why I would build anything else.
===================
I do have some groups of pages like you describe. They consist of..... One page that is narrowly optimized for a very difficult short-tail keyword (widgets) and that page links to supplemental pages on many related keywords (brass widgets, wooden widgets, plastic widgets, etc).
My page for the root keyword links to all of the supplemental pages, and all of the supplemental pages link back to the root keyword page. There links appear two places. 1) in the bread crumbs; and 2) in the paragraph text of the page.
I have had great results with these pages. My root page will have paragraphs and photos for every supplemental page topic... then the supplemental pages have extended content on that topic and lots more images.
Comment... I stopped thinking about linkjuice a long time ago. I don't regret it.

Nofollow links to own website pages
To preserve link juice should I "nofollow" links to about us and contact us pages that appear at the top of our navigation? I read this article - but I am not familiar with the authenticity: http://www.eminentseo.com/blog/navigation-menu-optimization-best-practices/ Thanks Mike

What to do about pages I have deleted?
I have been working through the dead links on my page and recreating the page with new content for those pages that it still makes sense to have on the site. But I have a few that were just changes of the title, spelling mistakes or other ways of saying the same thing In other words I created a page called "areas of the UK we cover" but decided to change it to "areas covered" However, I must have created links to this page and now it is a dead link with a page authority of 19 I think it would be spammy to have two pages, one called "areas covered" and the other called "areas of the UK we cover. It's not a disallow in Robots.txt because the page does not exist Please note I do not have access to the header to add code for a 301 redirect. I'm still using webs.com but not for new sites. I also have a page called singing telegrams london, that I changed from singagrams london. These are two words for the same thing but they are two very different keywords would it be ok to recreate this page and create content for singagrams london. Help is much appreciated

What is everyone's opinion on this? < 100 at all times? 100 -200 Okay? 200-300+ A little much?

Excessive Internal Links & links to same location
Hi, When Google is counting internal links on a page and it comes across two links to the same url, do both of the links count towards Excessive Internal Links? The reason I ask is that on our website we allow users to navigate through the website in different ways (either by dropdown menus or side menu or through breadcrumbs); which cause some links to appear multiple times on the same page. Any thoughts? K.

Too many On-Page Links warning + Javascript Menu
We do have javascript menus on each page. These are used by a visitor to contact a specific office in a specif city. Could this be where all these links are being counted? I don't see them elsewhere? What about links that are in the footer? They actually link to the same pages as the menus, but are just straight links.

Does link text "more information" have more weight than a normal link?
Does the anchor text "more information" hold any additional weight than any other anchor text? My suspicion is no, but just wanted to confirm.
