How do I make a content calendar to increase my rank for a key word?
-
I've watched more than a few seminars on having a content calendar. Now I'm curious as to what I would need to do to increase ranking for a specific keyword in local SEO.
Let's say I wanted to help them increase their rank for used trucks in buffalo, NY. Would I regularly publish blog posts about used trucks?
Thanks!

"What questions do people call in about?"
Good idea Keri.
You can also come up with a list of what a consumer that is buying a model of truck will type. Such as:
Common problems of model
Easy fixes for issues with model
Consumer reviews for model
Publisher reviews for modelThings like that. As Egol stated, you can easily waste a TON of time blogging about stuff no one will read or care about. Do a few searches yourself. I'm sure if you spent 10 minutes searching around you could find some topics worth covering.

To help find things to write about that won't waste your time, spend a moment to think about what will save your time. What questions do you get on the sales floor? What questions do you get emails about? What questions do people call in about? That's what your customers want to know.

If they have a sales lot within Buffalo then using local search is the best place to start.

This is a good way to waste a lot of time. I only use the content attack when I have topics to write about that are of very high interest. You gotta do a great job. There are tons and tons and tons of stuff about used trucks on the web. Most blog posts about them will be lost on the forest. If you are not producing content that stands out then you might be wasting your time.

Is a recent hack or the disavow tool causing my alarming dropping in rankings!
My business site has been very successful organically for many years. Just recently we got hit with a spam hack and it was resolved within 3 days. However now my rankings are plummeting and I am so stressed out! So here is some timeline information any info would help: Sept. 4th hack first detected on Google Sept. 7th site completely clean, reconsideration accepted, spam content and links removed. Manual actions cleared. Rankings at this time have not been affected. Sept. 11th disavowed a few incoming links that were completely spam. (In hindsight I know this could have been the beginning of the end using this tool) Sept. 21st start to notice first significant drop in rankings and I went into GWT and downloaded latest 1000 links, I realized ALL of these were either hacked sites as well with spam content linking to our now delete spam content or inappropriate adult content. Sept. 22 Disavowed the 1000 domains (there are still probably 1000-2000 more) As of today rankings have SIGNIFICANTLY dropped, I have resubmitted sitemaps, image sitemaps, fetch and rendered as google. I'm stressing out incredibly and feel like I have made an error and that my site will never recover. I've worked using ALL white hat seo and the site used to rank very well top of page one for almost all my keywords. I feel lost and don't know what else I can do - and I know many say wait but it feels like forever. Is it possible that I didn't make a mistake using the disavow and that Google just took a while to penalize for the hack? Please any advice or experiences I would love to hear and appreciate so much anyone who takes the time to respond.

Still seeing a terrible rank drop after last algo update?!
I'm still stumped as to why the ranking has gone so poor on a whitehat site. (see attached image) As you can see we've steadily been improving the ranking over the last 6+ months and then got hit with a massive change this month... I can't physically see any issues and Moz isn't reporting anything negatively that would have such a major effect.. Like not as if the drops were subtle... they've all gone into the 50+ section! Any insights into what may have changed in the latest algo update would be appreciated?! S0sD7d8.png

How fast should I make links
I have an eCommerce site. I like to review 100 of my products on Squidoo. There will be 50 lenses each lens will review 2-4 products. Each lens will link to each product review and one link to website URL. at the end of the project I would make around 200-250 links to my site. How should I extent the work. Should I do it within a month? of course I will do my other link buildings along with this task Thanks

Single-words high keyword density. How many is too many.
Dear All SeoMoz users, I'm a web designer for some time now. Doing some basic SEO from time to time. I just started up with brand new website. The website is not ranking very well for 2nd line keyword (keyword density < 2%), but the problem is not ranking at all for for my main keyword. I think the problem is the keyword density. For phrases that are 3-words long my keyword density is less than 4%. I suspect the problem is that keyword density for single-word phrases is between 8-12%. Please note that the 3 words with highest keyword density make my main 3-words long keyword. Is this the case? Should I be avoiding keyword density larger than 4% for single-word phrases as well? What is you experiences is this matter? Could my single-word phrases be treated as keyword stuffing by Google?
