Link Building Question
-
Hi Community,
I am currently doing some link building for a client. I have created a case study in the form of an article based around the client on our own website & linked to one of their service subpages so a user can see what kind of work they do.
I am also currently trying to rank the exact same service sub page for 'KEYWORD A'.
I have used 'KEYWORD A' in the title of the article (/KEYWORD-A-TEXT-TEXT) and built a link (not exact match anchor text but contains 'KEYWORD A') within the article pointing to the service subpage.
Our blog post now out-ranks the service subpage by around 5 pages, my question is:
1. How long does Google take to acknowledge that the client's service subpage is more resourceful for KEYWORD A?
Any other hints / tips / advice is appreciated!
Thank you

Lewis,
A single new link from your site to the client's does not necessarily make for an algorithmically more resourceful page (on the client's site), nor does it mean that it will eventually outrank your page. It might, though, if there are other factors working in it's favor and/or you continue your off page efforts for the client's page. But to answer your question, it may take days, weeks, even months, in some cases, for a page to percolate through all the facets of the algorithm.

Should I focus on building links to my homepage, or internal pages?
I'm hiring several PA's to contact site's linking to my competition. Should we try to get links to content pages (blog post, article, etc) or build links directly to my homepage? More info: My site is a web application, so most links will naturally fall on the homepage. If links to content are more important we'll need to change our strategy. We are pitching the free version of the application to universities and schools as a resource for their students.

Is it time to pay for link building?
I've been using the Moz tools for a while now and love them. Our SEO efforts are certainly paying off as we're ranking well for a lot of our desired keywords. That being said, I'm finding link building to be a very frustrating process. As much as I like to be hands on and try to do everything, I'm wondering when it's time to "throw in the towel" and hire someone? Is there anyone else who might have gone through a similar evolution? I'd love to hear some other stories about how or why you decided to hire out your link building. I'd like to think that whatever we spend on link building could likely reduce our reliance on AdWords, although I'm not sure how this would really play out over time.

I want to design SEO link building strategy for my website? Is wordpress.com, squidoo, tumblr, blogger, typepad - Good option for link building?
I am currently concentrating on 8 keywords, for e.g (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H). I will be writing blogs with 2 of any related keywords present in it. I am thinking to post 5 blogs on 5 different platforms as (wordpress.com, Squidoo, Typepad, Tumblr, blogger) respectively. I am thinking a strategy as: Monday: Keyword A,B on Wordpress/ C,D on Squidoo/E,F on Typepad/G,H on Blogger/ A,C on Tumblr. Tuesday:C,D on Wordpress/E,F on Squidoo/ etc.... and will rotate these keywords through out the week and the cycle restarts on Monday. The URL for every keyword will be different and relevant to that keyword. I need quick suggestion on this topic..Please..

Anyone have experience with AdTaxi for link building services?
Recently a client of ours received a proposal from a local newspaper for search related services, including link building. I believe the name of the company the paper is working with for some of these services is AdTaxi, which i had not heard of before. Anyone have experience with these guys from a link building standpoint? I know that here we are more "do it yourselfers" and for the most part, we handle all of the on-page and technical SEO for our client's sites, but link building as a dedicated service isn't something we have the resources to offer so I'm just looking to do some research. Thank you! -William
