Wondering why PR hasn't increased?

Hi there,
I’ve been working on a website for about 6 months now and the page rank still remains at 0 - Google Page Rank.
Fresh content has been created across the majority of the site, blog implemented, titles and meta’s, schema.org, we've built some good links etc.
There are a lot of 404’errors but a lot of this is to do with stocking issues, products being sold/taken down and new products being put up. Do you think this is the major reason the page rank is not moving – but 404’s are a regular occurrence on a lot of E-Commerce sites. Also, the server went off line on two occasions(obviously Google frowns upon this) but in general server is grand.
Also when we started working on the website it wasn't in the best of shape DA: 11, now it's DA:17. I know still not great but moving in the right direction.
Just wondering yer thoughts on the PR?

I agree with all the opinions voiced here. PR isn't really relevant any more. With all the algorithm changes from Google, it can be tough to keep up. I always suggest following Matt Cutts' blog and video channel. Any time there is even the hint of a change, he usually mentions what is going on at Google.
He is currently on leave, but his blog and video channel provides great information!

The PageRank that is reported to users on the Toolbar is updated only a couple of times a year these days, and is known to only be an approximation of the actual PR (Google themselves have said this).
Google does have an internal PR they use that is frequently updated, but not revealed to users.

You PR hasn't changed because Google hasn't updated it, because they rarely update PR.
PR should be ignored.

PR & Domain Authority are useless. Don't focus too much (if at all) on these as they will drive you crazy and not deliver any ranking increase or $$.

First off ignore PR
Page rank is updates once maybe twice a year, Google has said they don't really use it as much and if you base your metrics on it you're going to have a bad time.
FEAR NOT! Moz's domain authority or Majestic SEO's Trust flow or ahref's domain rank (or if you combine them all) are all good metrics to look at.
Hopefully that helps you base how well your doing better than pr. (pr can be an used on a longer term plan but i don't put much weight on it any more.)

SEO'ing a sports advice website
Hi Team Moz, Despite being in tech/product development for 10+ years, I'm relatively new to SEO (and completely new to this forum) so was hoping for community advice before I dive in to see how Google likes (or perhaps doesn't) my soon to be built content. I'm building a site (BetSharper, an early-stage work in progress) that will deliver practical, data orientated predictive advice prior to sporting events commencing. The initial user personas I am targeting would need advice on specific games so, as an example, I would build a specific page for the upcoming Stanley Cup Game 1 between the Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lighting. I'm in the midst of keyword research and believe I have found some easier to achieve initial keywords (I'm realistic, building my DA will take time!) that include the team names but don't reference dates or state of the tournament. The question is, hypothetically if I ranked for this page for this sporting event this year, would it make sense to refresh the same page with 2019 matchup content when they meet again next year, or create a new page? I am assuming I would be targeting the same intended keywords but wondering if I get google credit for 2018 engagement post 2019 refresh. Or should I start fresh with a new page and specifically target keywords afresh each time? I read some background info on canonical tabs but wasn't sure if it was relevant in my case. I hope I've managed to articulate myself on what feels like an edge case within the wonderful world of SEO. Any advice the community delivers would be much appreciated...... Kind Regards James.

Syntax: 'canonical' vs "canonical" (Apostrophes or Quotes) does it matter?
I have been working on a site and through all the tools (Screaming Frog & Moz Bar) I've used it recognizes the canonical, but does Google? This is the only site I've worked on that has apostrophes. rel='canonical' href='https://www.example.com'/> It's apostrophes vs quotes. Could this error in syntax be causing the canonical not to be recognized? rel="canonical"href="https://www.example.com"/>

301 redirects aren't passing value.
We recently migrated our shop to a new platform. We are using Wordpress for our main website, but we wanted a separate installation of Wordpress for our shop, so we left the main blog where it was, but moved the shop to a /shop/ sub directory with it's on WP installation. So now we have 2 installations of Wordpress. However, since we've done this, none of the pages on the new shop are ranking for anything. Their page rank is 0, and Moz page authority is 1 for every page on the new site. I've set up the proper 301 redirects, and they're redirecting fine, but none of the page value is coming over. It's been about a week now, and despite re-crawls by google, I'm not seeing any change. Also, one of the original (now re-directed) product pages still has a Page Authority of 13 according to Open Site Explorer. I know it's not high, but it had us ranking in the top 5 for a very important keyword, and now that value is being wasted. For example, one of our product pages that was ranking well was startupfashion.com/product/fashion-brand-line-sheet-template

http://startupfashion.com/shop/product/fashion-line-sheet-template I've done 301's plenty of times and I've never seen this issue, so i'm wondering if it could have something to do with having multiple installations of Wordpress. I can't see any obvious issues with it... i have the Yoast SEO plugin configured properly on both installations, and all of the pages ARE being indexed by google. Not sure what is going on. Anyone have any experience with this, or have any ideas? Thanks!!0 -
Monthly Refreshes Aren't Actually Needed, Right?

Everything I've ever read about modern SEO says this isn't necessary and it's just a solicitation to get people to pay them for something they don't even need. We update our social pages regularly and maintain listings on many citation sites using Moz Local (in addition to manually building citations). Can you guys confirm that this is just more spam from Network Solutions?

Help! The website ranks fine but one of my web pages simply won't rank on Google!!!
One of our web pages will not rank on Google. The website as a whole ranks fine except just one section...We have tested and it looks fine...Google can crawl the page no problem. There are no spurious redirects in place. The content is fine. There is no duplicate page content issue. The page has a dozen product images (photos) but the load time of the page is absolutely fine. We have the submitted the page via webmaster and its fine. It gets listed but then a few hours later disappears!!! The site has not been penalised as we get good rankings with other pages. Can anyone help? Know about this problem?

Pull meta descriptions from a website that isn't live anymore
Hi all, we moved a website over to Wordpress 2 months ago. It was using .cfm before, so all of the URLs have changed. We implemented 301 redirects for each page, but we weren't able to copy over any of the meta descriptions. We have an export file which has all of the old web pages. Is there a tool that would allow us to upload the old pages and extract the meta descriptions so that we can get them onto the new website? We use the Yoast SEO plugin which has a bulk meta descriptions editor, so I'm assuming that the easiest/most effective way would be to find a tool that generates some sort of .csv or excel file that we can just copy and paste? Any feedback/suggestions would be awesome, thanks!

Can't seem to get traffic back post Panda / Penguin. WHY?
I have done and am doing everything I can think of to bring back lost traffic after the late 2012 updates from google hit us. I just is not working. We had some issues with our out of house web developers which screwed up our site in 2012 and after taking it in house we have Eden doing damage control form months now. We think we have fixed pretty much everything. URL structure filling up with good unique content(under way. Lots still to do) making better category descriptions redesigned homepage. Updated product pages (CMS is holding things back on that part otherwise they would be better. New CMS under construction) started more link building(its a real weak spot on our SEO as far as I can see) audited bad links from dodgy irelavent sites. hired writers to create content and link bait articles. Begun making high quality video's for both YouTube (brand awareness and viral) and on site hosting (link building and conversions) (in the pipeline not online yet). Flattened out site architecture. optimise internal link flow (got this wrong by using nofollows. In the process of thinking of a better way by reducing nun wanted Nav links on page.) i realise its not all done but I have been working ever since the drop in traffic and I'm just seeing no increase at all. I have been asking a few questions on here for the past few days but still can't put my finger on the issue. Am I just impatient and need to wait on the traffic as I am doing all the correct things? Or have I missed something and need to fix it. you anyone would like to have a quick look at my site and see if there is an obvious issue I have missed It would be great as I have been tearing my hair out trying to find the issues with my site. How to solve a PHP problem to increase user experience ?
Hi all, I am having a peculiar PHP problem that is affecting the user experience of the site and thus, the SEO. The site is www.atlantiksurf.com and as you can see I use the QTranslate Plugin to manage the 3 different languages: www.atlantiksurf.com (Spanish) www.atlantiksurf.com/en www.atlantiksurf.com/de If you enter the german version: http://www.atlantiksurf.com/de/ , and you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will notice there are a couple of posts that have (Español) in their Titles. This means that this particular post is written in Spanish and should only appear in the Spanish version of the site. Every single post is published on the three versions even when they are language orientated. The result is that when you press that specific Spanish title on the German version, you get nothing but this: http://www.atlantiksurf.com/de/aritz-aranburu-tendra-que-estar-un-mes-sin-competir/ Because obviously there is nothing there. If I go to the wordpress admin panel and search for the post manually, I can solve the problem by erasing all the default code of the different language versions that should not appear. But this is only a manual and non practical solution. The problem, I think, might be in the PHP orders that the Wordpress Theme is receiving from somewhere. I come to all of you SEomoz users as my last chance, because I've been months in discussions with Qtranslate users and php amateurs that cannot solve the issue. I know that this question isn't strictly about SEO, but in a way it is, because it must be affecting the way that Google look at us.
