Am I using OSE wrong?
-
Hi - new to all this!
A link on a competitor site is showing as 404 when I check it with OSE but nothing on the page seems to be broken.
It's got loads of links to it, so I'm trying to work out what's going on. I just filtered the results by '40?'.
Thanks

Fresh links on sites with high authority can queue new links and sites to be recrawled. Our index starts from 0 each update so we would need a reason to recrawl external domain with links. Most sites the have continuous link building are kept updated in our index. There has been new links discovered and are in the queue to be processed which can appear in the next 1-2 updates: https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/just-discovered?site=www.copyblogger.com&filter=&source=&target=domain&page=1&sort=crawled

How often do you crawl sites (and in particular that site)?
-
The last time we crawled the site was on January 14th and it does appear many pages were not available until January 16th.

Hi. I think that's a fair response, if it weren't for the fact that the majority of the links showing up seem okay...
Here's an example: http://www.copyblogger.com/2015-online-business-report/

Hi There!
The 404 may have existed when we first discovered the link. The data in OSE is not a live representation as we can cache data for up to 190 days.

Can you provide us with a URL to see for ourselves?

Top Pages in OSE
Hey, I'm using OSE to determine top pages for some domains. This works great for some sites, but I'm finding with a few sites only the home page comes up in the 'top pages' list - is this because the home page is the only one with a PA above one? Cheers

[No Title] in Top Pages using Open Site Explorer
Hello!
Link Explorer | | eagleleather
All of my pages contain properly formatted title tags which display in the browser. However, when I view the 'Top Pages' area of the Open Site Explorer, 99% of those pages show [No Title] in the Page Title & URL column. Does anyone know what might be causing this?0 -
How can I use Open Site Explorer to Identify why my own URL's are appearing as inbound links
I'm a new member of Moz, and am trying to understand why I am seeing my sites URL's in my Inbound Link results in Open Site Explorer. There are quite a few, and they are all product category URL's that are generated by my stores database. This is not happening with .html URL's. Any thoughts?

OSE results vs. Google
Is OSE still a worthy analyzer of the factors breaking down Google rank of a page or website? More so over the past six months, I've seems to noticed how the page comparison in OSE seems to have less and less correspondence to Google rank. For instance, I'm analyzing sites where the top result has a Page Authority rank of 11, Subdomain MozRank of 3.53, outranking a page coming in in spot #14 with Page Authority of 36, Subdomain MozRank of 3.94. I see this frequently, that by the factors measured in OSE, a certain page with favorable scores is being outranked by a page with poor OSE scores. Of course, I realize how sophisticated Google's algorithm is and the OSE can't reverse engineer the whole thing. Also, there are lots of other factors, such as personalized search results, banklink velocity, and who's in my G+ circles, that isn't taken into account in OSE. Yet, I see this more-and-more, where websites kicking ass in OSE measurements rank poor, and poor websites ranked in OSE come out near the top in Google. So, given this, where OSE is apparently a less effective tool to help analyze the factors building Google rank as Google evolves and values brand, what should a chap do? I already know the predictable answers of do RCS, build your community, and so on. But, I want to know what's driving the juice behind these top ranking websites, and OSE doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore... Your thoughts?

Why does Google Webmaster Tools report I have inbound links from over 120 different domains and OSE reports I have 7
My client's site is www.graysonmountainrealestate.com. Google Webmaster Tools reports I have over 120 different domains linking to the site. Why does OSE report only 7? Thanks, Ken
