Schema question
-
Hi all,
We have two Trustpilot schemas (Local Business) on our web pages ( One on desktop / one on mobile) but we are finding that it is not updating the number of reviews in the search results.
When using the tool : https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ , the test results are coming back ok.
I have two ideas as to why it may not be working;
1) The duplication of the schema code is causing issues
2) We had to change the html code for all of our 50+ backend pages using a search&replace WordPress plugin to save a vast amount of time. Maybe this is plugin related?
The fact that the google testing tool gives back positive results adds to the confusion. I test both of the theorised issues to see if it provides a fixes.
Can anyone shed some further light on this issue? Is there something obvious I am missing?
All responses are greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,
I'd definitely have a go at the suggestions provided by Verb Interactive and see if that makes any difference. It could be a case of Google not yet approving your domain for rich snippets in search results. Have you ever had rich snippets appear in search results yet? If not, it can take some time and Google need to see the right markup and quality signals in order for this to happen.
Cheers.

Hi Tom,
The first flag to me is the markup for Webpage/mainContentOfPage/WebPageElement/Name is literally all of the text content of the page. I would change that to the name of the page.
You also use the markup for https://schema.org/CreativeWork which is meant for creative works, I would not consider Travel Insurance as creative work. Again, you are cramming all of the pages content into the text, so another flag to me.
And the duplicate Local Business Schema that offers no other information except the name (but actually the website) and the Aggregated review data. Local Business Schema is reserved for business that have a physical location (see: https://schema.org/LocalBusiness) which it appears you are based on your footer, but you do not markup in the Schema. I would suggest marking up the address info in the footer for Local Business.
I hope that points you in the right direction.

ANSWER SEEN 'WITHIN THE QUESTION' BRACKET So you ask, why is the sky blue?
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | RedFrog
Well, the answer is not so simple; In the day-time, when it's clear and cloudless,
the sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light.
When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight. Blog comments - backlinks - question
Hi, I see that many good websites have backlinks from very good blogs/sites which are relative. What I noticed that everyone use their real name or generic name in comments. They do not use the keyword for the name. So later they get backlinks with anchor text of their names... So, my question is this good technique ? Do I have any benefits from these backlinks for my website ? With such a technique, whether it is enough just to leave your real name or may I periodically put the keyword for the name ? Thank you

Question on starting again after being penalised for bad links
Hi, in a scenario where you have been heavily penalised for bad links but the quality of your site is good, If you put the exact same version of your penalised site on a new domain (with no redirects), would Google recognise it and penalise it again, or would that give it a completely fresh start? Any advice or experience with this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Duplicate Content/ Indexing Question
I have a real estate Wordpress site that uses an IDX provider to add real estate listings to my site. A new page is created as a new property comes to market and then the page is deleted when the property is sold. I like the functionality of the service but it creates a significant amount of 404's and I'm also concerned about duplicate content because anyone else using the same service here in Las Vegas will have 1000's of the exact same property pages that I do. Any thoughts on this and is there a way that I can have the search engines only index the core 20 pages of my site and ignore future property pages? Your advice is greatly appreciated. See link for example http://www.mylvcondosales.com/mandarin-las-vegas/

Duplicate Content Question
My client's website is for an organization that is part of a larger organization - which has it's own website. We were given permission to use content from the larger organization's site on my client's redesigned site. The SEs will deem this as duplicate content, right? I can "re-write" the content for the new site, but it will still be closely based on the original content from the larger organization's site, due to the scientific/medical nature of the subject material. Is there a way around this dilemma so I do not get penalized? Thanks!

HT.Access Redirect Question
Quick question on the HT.Access / Redirects... II have a site http://www.securitysystemsfortlauderdale.org/ADT-Home-Security-Alarm-Systems/ and I am running througth SEO moz for backlinks and noticed a large descrepancy on the links on the root vs the redirect. There are more links on the root and less on the redirect. Does this affect SEO for Google or does Google follow the redirects and give credit accordingly. Thanks for your help!!! Matt
