Linkbuilding: Relevancy and Internal Linking
-
Hello,
For linkbuilding, how important is relevancy and how is it calculated by Google? For specific context, we are interested in putting a scholarship campaign on our reference page (www.spanishdict.com/traductor), and were wondering how that will impact relevancy.
Additionally, we were wondering the value of internal linking from one page to another. We want to get more links to our hubpage – Page A (www.spanishdict.com/traductor) but much of this interesting, relevant content lives on our blog page – Page B (ex: www.spanishdict.com/blog/traductor/el-gh-en-ingles/). What is the best way to handle this? Would it suffice to internal link from the blog page (Page B) to the page we actually want to get links to (Page A)? Or should we try to house this content on Page A?
Thanks for your help!

Hi there,
If you're trying to make more relevant some page, as you do some traditional linkbuilding, internal links shuold come too.
As Eric stated, dont create links just looking at the relevance of the page where the link would go, be careful about the visitors, be constructive and creative.About the content, It would be advisable to create specific content for that targeted page. Even more, some blog posts about that scholarship, with its corresponding internal links. Dont abuse from the blog posts, remember to look after the audience.
Hope it helps.

When it comes to internal linking, I would first worry about the users on your site: if it makes sense for you to link to another page on your site (so they will stay on your site longer), then you should link internally to that other page.
If you're using an internal link structure that has topics and subtopics, then the pages in each subtopic should link to each other and they should link to their main topic.
What's important, though, is to think of the user experience and if it makes sense for you to link to link the scholarship campaign on your reference page then you should do that.

Disavow links from legit sites but have spammy link profiles?
I'm currently doing a backlink audit for our site with a LOT of backlinks. Some of the linking sites are legitimate business websites in our industry who have linked to us for a totally legitimate reason (we have good content!). However, these businesses themselves have a spammy backlink profile—that is, the only sites linking to that site are obvious link farm sites. Here is an illustration: spammyseolinks.com; payforseo.xyz; blackhat.ru ==all link to==> legitbusiness.com ==links to==> mysite.com Should I disavow this backlink? I guess it's not really giving me much SEO worth since it surely been branded a spammy junk domain, but then again, it's a real website that we've earned a link from because we're doing stuff the right way. Is it hurting or helping me?

Dofollow OR nofollow for internal links
We recently changed our wordpress site and I have noticed that in the new theme all the internal links are set to nofollow. I understand that Google might not decide page rankings based on internal links but isn't it good practice to do a follow on internal links to highlight the relative importance of a page

Internal Linking Questions
Hello, here are my questions. 1:Should I be internal linking back to my home page from every subpage or lower page on my site. Or, is that going overboard? 2: If i'm internal linking back to a page with an anchor text that has no relation to the page, will that pass less relevance? So for example lets say the current page is about mazda cars. Then, I link to a page about ford cars with the anchor text Mazda cars that would pass less relevance, right? Thanks for your help

Link Building
Guest blogging, guest blogging, guest blogging. Since I started my career as a "brand manager" I've heard the term "guest blogging" at least a million times. So I've put a fair amount of energy into it and for a long time it worked beautifully, still is in many ways. However, in the last month or two nearly every blog I have contacted about guest blogging has said that "due to an increase in guest blogging request we are now charging a fee of x" so on and so forth. Doesn't paying for links put you at great risk for being deindexed? And can't bloggers get in trouble for this as well? Do they not know, not care or think it doesn't apply to them? And if it's a sponsored post, say I send them $100 of free product and pay them $100 to do it, isn't that just hiring someone to talk about my brand? Why would google punish me for that? Anyway around it? Thank you so much! I look forward to your suggestions/advice/criticism.

Blog traffic / link ratio? (Esimated of how much traffic will result in a link)
Hi, Was wondering if people could please tell me some estimates of how much traffic is likely to gain links to a blog post? For example 1,000 hits = 1 link, Hence 10,000 hits = 10 links to a blog post? I understand there is no magic ratio I just want to know what people have achieved. I’m after averages not just a one off really successful blog post too. Please specify the topic you achieve this in e.g. SEO, photography, business, heath... etc.

Buying links
I have 2 websites to pay monthly to gain links from, number 1 is on the homepage of a directory, it has a PA of 90 and DA of 88.
Link Building | | myloseo
the link will be on the right hand side along with 55 other featured sites.
these links are there throughout the whole site. number 2 is from a website with 20 max sponsored links on a page and will be one of the sub pages on the site with a PA of 74. How valuable if any would these links be? My current pa on the site i wish to send the links to is 26 Can i expect my PA to go up by much? Also i currently have 317 links from 7 root domains on my site will this effect the rank of the paid links? Thanks in advance0 -
New ways to get links (excluding on site link bait)?
Fellow SEOs, I’m looking for a new way to reach out to bloggers and site owners for links. There are quite a few link bait techniques to lure bloggers thanks to = amazing content, infographics,...but there are not so many articles on ways to contact bloggers/webmasters and ask for links... We all know that contacting site owners directly and politely asking then to place a link on their home page is as useful as a comb in Bruce willis’s hand. Link exchange is as dead as the Dodo and business partner links are usefull and easier to get but opportunities are often limited. I have been organizing contests for bloggers recently and it has been quite successful up to now, but I always like to have a spare trick up my sleeve. So if any of you have a decent method to reach out to bloggers/webmaster and get decent links please let me know, I will be forever thankful ; ) Cheers
