Tracking pages in two separate analytics accounts
-
Hi All,
I'm trying to track some pages on one website in two separate Google Analytics accounts.
Has anybody done this before that could help with the tracking code?
Thanks in advance,
Elias

Ok thanks all.
I'm looking at a different solution at the moment.
As I cannot create a new account and the filters won't achieve what I'm trying to achieve.
Thanks for all your help

Elias and Himanshu,
Himanshu's and my response are indeed not the same but similar. Himanshu is suggesting actually creating a second profile in GA that requires a second GAQ call.
The way I suggested using a filter would not require a second GAQ call. Either way, you'll have to set up the filters.
My apologies for the discrepancy.

Himanshu is right. Depending on your use-case, you can create a new profile (we'll call it profile-B") and I don't think it was mentioned, you can create a filter on that profile that will only include analytics for pages that make it through the filter resulting in "Profile-B".
I may be too much stating the obvious here but these are a few examples of filters I use with my clients for the exact purpose you mention:
- filtering to INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE content based on site path
- filtering to INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE content based on country
- filtering to include content based on search engine visits only
- filtering to INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE content based on ecommerce transaction visits
- filtering to INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE content based on goal success visits
- filtering to INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE content based on ad campaigns
Possibilities are endless depending on use case. I'm happy to help with filters given the parameters.

Create a new profile in your account which tracks only those web pages which need to be accessed by another company. Then give the other company access to that profile only (and not to the whole account. A GA account can have multiple profiles, remember!). There is no need to track same web pages through multiple GA accounts.
-
Ha, sorry, not a situation I have come across before, interesting though!
-
Thanks Marcus,
Apologies I don't think I explained the situation very well...
There are two separate companies/websites each with their own GA accounts.
There are some pages on one website that need to be tracked by both accounts. We cannot give both parties access to all data.
Is this more clear?
Usually the code I would use is this:
But I'd like to find the code that would work with the new Asynchronous style tracking

Hey Elias
You just set up your Analytics as usual but grant access to another user to view the reports.
Very simple and then the other person can log in and access the full reports in either read only or full access modes.

Hope it helps!

Google Analytics & Google Sheets
Hi guys, I'm looking to use google analytics google sheets extension to pull data into a google sheet with metrics from other tools e.g. semrush, moz, etc. From my understanding with google analytics google sheet extension its designed to run reports and doesn't really allow you to add other metrics. Basically what i'm trying to do is this: https://www.useloom.com/share/c1e42bfa60bd46fca2b1120018969ce8 Any suggestions/advice on how to do this would be great. Cheers.

Tracking Product Codes
Hey Mozzers, We are improving our B2B site by adding product codes to headings & meta information etc to gain some traction ranking for our own products and those supplied by others when searched for by product code. Almost immediately we are hitting the top half of the first page for most of these and seeing some nice results. We would like to track our placement for these product codes in google but feel this would be a waste of our Moz Keyword limit and we really dont need to check them once a week, just one a month or so. Has anybody got any methods of tracking our ranking for a a big list of keywords say once a month which isn't too labour intensive? Many Thanks

Google Analytics global page empty
Hello, I don't know what happened with my Google Analytics initial page. For around a week I have there all my websites, but they show no results on global page. If I enter on any property I can see everything as normal, just not on the initial page. Screenshot: http://imgur.com/JKFVIh4 For sure I changed anything that I shouldn't. Perhaps you know what's wrong? Thank you in advance.

Not Provided Filter is not tracking goals
I have setup ‘Not Provided’ filter, but it is not tracking conversions accurately. Basically the filter displays goals url’s as conversion urls & not the landing url’s. For example – I would expect home page to have maximum conversions, but its shows higher visits & no conversions. Has anyone experienced this? I have attached screenshot of the ‘Not provided’ Filter. 0L0fS3h SxzRP7w

Why is Benetton ranking with tracking parameters?
For this search: https://www.google.com/search?q=benetton&pws=0 I see the following URL ranking #1 http://www.benetton.com/?utm_source=centrum.sk&utm_medium=listing Why is this happening? I could likely figure it out but I'm busy so I was hoping someone could dig around and let me know 🙂 Anyone? Incidentally, Benetton is in the middle of a massive campaign at the moment so it's strange timing for them to have this showing up and screwing with their GA tracking... EDIT: I should clarify, Benetton is not a client - I don't know anyone who works for or with them. I'm just curious why this is showing up. cmNWx.png

How to compare Goals in Analytics
I setup LivePerson web chat on my site. In doing so I integrated it with Google Analytics as a conversion goal so I can track the visitors that engaged in chat. I want to see the affect these chats have on my other conversion goal, a completed lead. How do I figure out the conversion % of new leads for people who have enaged in web chat vs. those who haven't?

Does Google Analytics use your data against you?
I couldn't find this question answered anywhere in Q&A, so I apologize if it's a duplicate of another post. I heard, about a year ago on either Web Pro World, or Warrior Forum that Google uses your visitor data in your Google Analytic account to rank your site. Someone said that when they took out the Google code, their site went from the third to the first page within 48 hours. That was then verified over the next couple of weeks by others. Their thought was that regardless of the optimized page and incoming link, if the site wasn't getting visitors, then it would be penalized. Since Google has the data, they would be able to use it. I then started using another, paid, solution - getclicky.com. While I like clicky, there is some info Google has that clicky doesn't, everyone integrates with Google analytics - like SEOmoz, and I'm paying a monthly fee. Now that I'm a part of a community of experts, what do you think? Have you noticed Google ranking you based on your analytics data? Has anyone experienced this, or heard about it before? Because I'd like to go back to using Google analytics. Thanks!
