    increase da

Google itself has been troubled by ranking factors. On top of that, the https://moz.com/ has worn a new garland of domain authority. It is even more regrettable when a website DA suddenly decreased. As recently on 22nd September, my website's DA was 16. As usual, on September 23, I posted a new informational blog related to QuickBooks antivirus exclusions on my website. The very next day my website DA was decreased. Can anyone who knows SEO help me understand why this always happens specially to me every time? I read the whole forum and all I found out is how my site's DA is decreased.
Can anyone let us know whether we can increase the Domain Authority of our website only by creating backlinks or there can be some other activities also?

  • I'm facing an issue with my website. Due to little to no knowledge about link building and backlink, i created backlinks without checking the quality and spam score of the sites. Now there are many sites linking to my website but the overall spam score is very high of my website and my domain is reviewheart.com that i'm talking about. I have created a list and disavowed all he poor linking domains but still no improvement shown. Can anyone have the idea how much time moz will take to show the updated spam score as i have disavowed all the low quality spammed linking site?

  • Hi Guys,
I am getting MOZ reports on a few keywords and that is good But when My client search for the same keywords he doesn't get the same rank, not even on that page. Let me explain in more details:
I have a keyword that shows on rank #5 in Google Mobile for a Local location for the current week. The client is from the same location as well. But when client search for that keyword from his mobile he doesn't get the keyword listed on that page, not even on other pages. I checked with other online keyword rank checker tool and all are showing the result similar to the Moz ranking report. It's really frustrating for my client. Google analytics shows that mobile users and organic reach are increasing so I am sure MOZ and other tools are showing us correct result. What could be the possible reason that he is not getting the same result as showing by MOZ? I am not from his location so how can I check the keyword result for the selected city using MOZ that is accurate? Any help would be highly appreciated. Please help. Thanks

Hello, Google has changed the way it displays it's SERPs with lazy loading new listings. Because of this the Moz Chrome Extension no longer shows results past first results. I also often find that when a site is ranked above the Maps, it doesn't display results. Is there a fix for this?

  • Hi all, I've been using Moz Bar for years. It ran well until about three weeks ago. It suddenly failed to show the DA and PA of sites that I open after I log in. And it keeps asking me to log in when I did. I tried to uninstall the Mozbar extension and reinstalled it several times. Nothing worked. I also tried to uninstall Chrome and clear the cookies, still, nothing changed. Did anyone experience this? How do you solve it and make it run on the track? Any information will be appreciated. • Hello all, This could be something to do with our site or the Moz bar on Chrome, I just need to know which it is so if it is our website we can look into it further. On certain sections of our website the Moz bar doesn't display any Domain Authority, not even zero, the bar just isn't present. These types of pages are php which pull in data through a feed daily. Speaking to an SEO expert they said it could be where the page is being updated so frequently, or it could be something more sinister and technically not quite right. Does anyone have any ideas? Is the Moz bar just not working for these types os pages or is it more likely something to do with my site? Ironically it's these pages which I'm having trouble with that are not showing in SERPs! Thanks! 3Foorka

  • My Moz spam score is 7%, I think this is due to loads of spam links from a website theglobe.net/the_worlds_most_visited_web_pages_262/ which appeared in the last month. It is a paid inclusion site so not sure how my website got included with a link 654306.freedomltd.com. I have contacted them to be removed but not heard anything yet. The link is showing 768 times from different versions of the same site. Is there anything else I should do?

  • Hi! My Spam Score is indicating 39% on MOZ and I can't identify that many signals from the 27-signal list that could be actually raised in order for the score to show such a high value like this. My website is Ronaldo7.net, Is there anyone who could help me understanding what signals exactly I should pay more attention and eventually fix them so the spam score reduces drastically? Are all these Spam Score signals weighed equally? (for example, I don't have a LinkedIn profile/link for my site, so should I assume that for not having it my spam score increases 3-4% (27/100)? I don't think that's the case, so I would really appreciate if anyone could point me in the right directions in order to help me reducing the spam score. One final question, is this Spam Score updated on a daily/weekly or monthly basis? Regards, Guilherme

  • Hello Moz family, After much deliberation, Moz has arrived at the difficult decision to shift away from brand & keyword mentions monitoring as a standalone tool in Fresh Web Explorer. Though we believe in the value of this service for our users, we’ll no longer be supporting it in order to provide more innovative features that better suit the modern needs of SEOs. We will, however, continue to support existing features within the Pro platform that accomplish similar tasks, like link building, content planning, and mentions monitoring. We understand you might have a few questions and have compiled a list of common FAQs below. Within the answers, you will find a number of other resources to help you out. When is Moz sunsetting Fresh Web Explorer?
Moz will be sunsetting Fresh Web Explorer on November 10, 2020. At that time, you will no longer be able to access this feature within Moz Pro. This means that there will no longer be the ability in your settings to opt into email alerts from Fresh Web Explorer as the email alerts will discontinue after this date as well. I used Fresh Web Explorer for brand and keyword monitoring across the web. How can I do that now? Though it’s not a direct replacement, setting Brand Rules within a Campaign allow a user to monitor specific keywords in the Link Opportunities section, much like Fresh Web Explorer. By monitoring the links that mention your tracked keywords, but do not link to them, you can easily reach out for link opportunities. It can also help you plan content strategies by understanding what is being discussed within the content of those pages. You can read more about Opportunities within Links here. I used Fresh Web Explorer for link building opportunities. How can I do that now? With Moz’s vast link index you can uncover valuable link prospects, create a solid strategy, and track your progress. Within Link Opportunities in a Campaign, you can understand the domains mentioning your tracked keywords (set within your Brand Rules), but not linking back to you. Link Intersect provides an analysis on who's linking to competitors, but not you, and can help users plan strategic link outreach. You can also use Link Tracking Lists to help track progress for link opportunities you’ve identified through unlinked mentions of your brand or your competitors. Our Keyword Explorer tool also includes a Mentions module. Mentions show you pages that contain the searched keyword and gives you a snapshot of the Page Title and URL. Within Mentions, understand a link’s Mention Authority score, which predicts the authority of the page using a proprietary algorithm, along with a combination of Moz metrics that take both the authority and influence of the page into account. Need help getting started with all of these similar features? Read more here. I used Fresh Web Explorer for content planning. How can I use Moz for that now? There are many ways you can plan your content strategy using Moz. For a high-level understanding of how Moz Pro can help you plan content, take a look at our Beginner’s Guide to Content Strategy here. Otherwise, one way you can understand what is being mentioned within your tracked keywords is through Opportunities in Links within a campaign. This feature helps you get a sense for what type of content is published on the web around your tracked keywords, branded or non-branded. You can then plan similar content as what’s being mentioned. For more information on how to set up Brand Rules in a Campaign, click here. I used Fresh Web Explorer for the email alerts to notify other stakeholders on keyword & brand mentions. Can I do that another way within Moz Pro? We recommend using our Custom Reports to email your stakeholders of tracked mentions on the web. You can set Brand Rules within your Campaign settings for branded or non-branded keywords you’d like to monitor. You can read more on how to set up Custom Reports here. The Moz Pro feature alternatives you suggested aren’t really a direct replacement. Why? We recognize that our feature suggestions are not a direct replacement for brand and keyword mentions monitoring. And, we also understand that this functionality is desired by many of our users. We will be exploring opportunities to include some of the Fresh Web Explorer functionality within future versions of Moz Pro. In the meantime, if you're looking for a direct replacement, we suggest checking out BuzzSumo. Their Monitoring feature provides you a one-stop-shop for monitoring your brand, keywords, and trends across the web. Do I need to do anything before the sunset on November 10, 2020? No. Fresh Web Explorer will simply disappear from the Moz Pro interface. No action is needed on your end. Once retired, you will no longer see the page within Moz Pro and you will no longer receive alert emails that were previously set up from the settings tab within an account. Do you have any content you can point me to that outlines the other ways in which I can find my brand’s mentions in Moz Pro? We sure do! Check out this fantastic Help Hub article that outlines all of the ways you might track, monitor, and analyze your brand’s mentions in Moz Pro. The features here include Keyword Explorer’s Mentions, Brand Rules, Link Opportunities in Links within a Campaign, Link Tracking Lists, and Custom Reports. If you have any questions, I'm happy to discuss more in the Q&A thread. Or, feel free to send an email to help@moz.com with any questions. Best,

  • Hi All! Continuing my series of discussions about the various keyword scores we use here at Moz (previously: Keyword Difficulty & Keyword Opportunity)... Let's move on to Volume. Volume in Moz's tools is expressed in a range, e.g. Bartending Certification has volume of 201-500. These ranges correspond to data we have suggesting that in an average month, that keyword is searched for a minimum of X to a maximum of Y (where X-Y is the volume range). We use clickstream data as well as data from Google AdWords and then some PPC AdWords campaigns we run and have access to when we build the models for our volume data. As such, we've got very high confidence in these numbers -- 95%+ of the time, a given keyword's monthly search volume on Google will fall inside that range. If you want to see all the nitty gritty details, check out Russ Jones post on Moz's Keyword Volume and how we calculate it. As far as a "good" volume score -- higher is usually better, as it means more demand, but lots of keywords with low volume scores can also add up to strong traffic when combined, and they may be more relevant. Capturing exactly the audience you want that also wants you is what SEO is all about. p.s. When Keyword Explorer or Moz Pro gives you a "no data" or "unknown" volume number, it may just mean we haven't collected information from our clickstream providers or AdWords crawls, not that the keyword has no volume (though it sometimes means that, too, we just don't know yet). One way to verify - see if Google Suggest autofills it in when you type in the search box. If it does, that's usually a sign there's at least some volume (even if it's only a few searches a month).

  • Hello, even though we are a Moz Pro user we have a 'part-timer'  who keeps the client metrics scoreboard up to date. Rather than have him running wild in Moz Pro we  bookmarked the 'Domain Analysis' page and he knows that only 3 can be reported on per day. If it was an immediate need then we would use Moz-Pro. The issue was reported to me that he is receiving 'Search Limit reached' and do a moz-pro trial. So, has the 3 per day limit been changed? Thanks, Dave

  • Howdy gang, This is my last discussion post in the series on keyword metrics in KW Explorer & Moz Pro (previously on Keyword Difficulty, Opportunity, & Volume). In this one, let's chat about the "Priority Score," a feature you'll find in Keyword Explorer on any lists you build. Priority was conceived to help aggregate all the other metrics - Difficulty, Opportunity, Volume, and (if you choose to use it) Importance. We wanted to create an easy way to sort keywords so the cream would rise to the top -- cream in this case being keywords with low difficulty, high opportunity, strong volume, and high importance (again, if you choose to use it). Thus, when it comes to Priority Score, there's no particular number you should necessarily seek out, but higher is better. When you get into the ranges of 80+ (which is quite rare, Single Malt Scotch is one of the few examples I could find, and only because it's volume is so high and there's only a couple SERP features), you're generally talking about keywords with high demand (lots of monthly searches), the difficulty isn't too crazy (a website in the 55-80 DA range might have a shot), and the CTR Opportunity is decently strong (usually not too many SERP features that take clicks and attention away from the organic web results). Below that score range, you're usually finding keywords where one or more of those isn't true -- there's either lower volume, heavier competition, or lots of SERP features with the accompanying lower estimated CTR. When you're building KW lists, my view is that there's no "good" or "bad" Priority scores, only relative scores. Priority should be used to help you determine which terms and phrases to target first -- it's like a cheat code to unlock the low hanging fruit. If you build large lists of 50-100 or more keywords, Priority is a powerful and easy way to sort. It becomes even more useful if you use the Importance score to help add an estimation of value to you/your business/your client in to the mix. In that case, Importance can cut Priority by up to 2/3rds (if you set it at 1) or raise it by a little more than 3X (if you set it at 10). This is hyper-useful to nudge keywords with middling scores up if they're super-important to your marketing efforts. Look forward to your feedback, and thanks for checking these out!

  • On the last crawl, we received errors for duplicate page titles and some duplicate content pages. Here is the issue: We went through our page titles that were marked as duplicate and changed them to make sure their titles were different. However, we just received a new crawl this week and it is saying there are even more duplicate page title errors detected than before. We're wondering if this is a problem with just us or if it has been happening to other Moz users. As for the duplicate content pages, what is the best way to approach this and see what content is being looked at as a "duplicate" set?

  • sleepcountry.ca uses Oracle Commerce Cloud which uses Knockout data-binds syntax to attach events to DOM elements like this (A <a id="s0207useresourcesinwidgets01"></a>Knockout custom binding named ‘widgetLocaleText’  - I am not familiar this technology stack): Same applies to H1 tag - you can't find H1 tag in Source. In short, the text binding causes the associated DOM element to display the text value of your parameter. Data binding is applied to all DOM elements on pages of sleepcountry.ca  even that this technique doesn't pass W3C markup validation: Error: Element title must not be empty. MOZ reports that all H1 Tags are missing on ALL PAGES of the site. Same is reported by Semrush and other respected services. However, it seems like Google automatically adds tagging to all data-bind(ed) elements including Title! site:sleepcountry.ca I'm no expert in Oracle Commerce Cloud or Knockout, but I'm confused.
QUESTION: Does this data-bind hurt organic search and if it does, why Google still sees all TITLES while Moz and other services report it as a major problem - titles are missing. ? Thank you so much in advance! (I'm not an SEO expert but this problem might be related to my project)

  • Hi Folks! You might have seen my discussion on What Is a Good Keyword Difficulty Score, and this is a continuation of the same vein. Keyword Organic CTR is probably my favorite score we developed in Keyword Explorer and Moz Pro. It looks at the SERP features that appear in a set of results (e.g. an image block, AdWords ads, a featured snippet, or knowledge graph) and then calculates, using CTRs we built off our partnership with Jumpshot's clickstream data, what percent of searchers are likely to click on the organic, web results. For example, in a search query like Nuoc Cham Ingredients, you've got a featured snippet and then a "People Also Ask" feature above the web results, and thus, Keyword Explorer is giving me an Organic CTR Score of 64. This translates directly to an estimated 64% click-through rate to the web results. Compare that to a search query like Fabric Printed Off Grain, where there's a single SERP feature - just the "People Also Ask" box, and it's between the 6th and 7th result. In this case, Keyword Explorer shows an Organic CTR Score of 94, because we estimate that those PAAs are only taking 6% of the available clicks. There are two smart ways you should be using Organic CTR Score: As a way to modify the estimated volume and estimated value of ranking in the web results for a given keyword term/phrase (KW Explorer does this for you if you use the "Lists" and sort based on Potential, which factors in all the other scores, including volume, difficulty, and organic CTR) As a way to identify SEO opportunities outside the normal, organic web results in other SERP features (e.g. in the Nuoc Cham Ingredients SERPs, there's serious opportunity to take over that featured snippet and get some great traffic) OK, so all that said, what's actually a "good" Organic CTR score? Well... If you're doing classic, 10-blue-links style SEO only, 100 is what you want. But, if you're optimizing for SERP features, and you appear in a featured snippet or the image block or top stories or any of those others, you'd probably be very happy to find that CTR was going to those non-web-results sections, and scores in the 40s or 50s would be great (so long as you appear in the right features).

  • The vast majority of the 140 domains that link to our website are very low quality directories or and other toxic links. Only about 20-30 domains are not toxic (according to Link Research Tools confirmed by out manual inspection of these links). Would removing some of these links improve of MOZ Domain Rank? • I have a question about the Spam Score for my website .
I have run a Spam Score for https://www.poppyporter.co.uk
It has come back with an 80% score because there are 4 links that are apparently from my poppyporter.com domain each with a 69% spam score.
This poppyporter.com domain is parked and I have no idea why there are links from it. There are no pages there and there never have been, I've never used the poppyporter.com domain only poppyporter.co.uk.
I don't understand why there are links there and why they are making my Spam Score so high.
Will they affect my site's SEO? Do I need to worry about them? If so how do I get rid of them?
    Can you help?

  • Hello. I'm wondering if there is a way to control the crawl rate of MOZ on our site. It is hosted on Shopify which does not allow any kind of control over the robots.txt file to add a rule like this: User-Agent: rogerbot Crawl-Delay: 5 Due to this, we get a lot of 430 error codes -mainly on our products- and this certainly would prevent MOZ from getting the full picture of our shop. Can we rely on MOZ's data when critical pages are not being crawled due to 430 errors? Is there any alternative to fix this? Thanks

  • Like most of the folks here I'm a pretty big fan of the content that comes out through Whiteboard Fridays, and I try to apply the things I learn, but one of the WBF videos that I'm following along with does not do a stellar job of detailing execution using Moz KW Explorer. https://moz.com/blog/related-topics-in-seo-whiteboard-friday Now granted, this came out in 2016, but I still feel the core principle and strategy results in a higher quality piece of content and is still relevant to discovering and understanding searcher task completion requirements, and drafting content that fulfills those requirements. Towards the end Rand sort of mentions that you'll be able to do this with KW explorer, but I'm not really seeing the functionality. The steps I followed were to enter in the keyword in kw explorer, went to keyword suggestions, and selected "based on closely related topics" and ran it, but received no suggestions - came up blank. I then selected "based on broadly related topics" and the same thing happened. I tried this out with the keyword r22, keeping it very broad to start but that didn't seem to work. So what do you all do to perform this sort of research within Moz? Or do you even feel it's relevant in today's Rank Brain driven world?

✓Large Site with Few Links - My website have more than 6K backlinks
✓Small Proportion of Branded Links - My website have a good amount of branded backlinks
✓Thin Content - Every webpage on website has more than 500 words content
✓External Links in Navigation - There is no external link in navigation other than social media links
✓No Contact Info - The proper address has alreay been placed on website footer
✓Low Number of Pages Found - I am wondering if there are any standard score or number of links to reach to remove these flag?
Also, please suggest some ways that will help me improve moz spam score at faster rate. Thanks for your help in advance!"

  • I'm feeling like I'm basing all my research time on tools that I cannot necessarily trust. Between Google keyword planner, Keywords everywhere chrome extension, and Moz keyword explorer, I'm getting wildly different results on 2 simple keywords related to colleges with baking & pastry arts degrees. "baking college", "baking colleges" So Keyword planner won't give me any search volume for those 2 words, I don't even see them in the results. Instead, it decides I really meant "baker college" which has 33,100 global searches. I tried telling it use only closely related terms, but it keeps giving me "baker college" and refuses to show me the terms I asked for. Stubbornly useless. Keywords everywhere says both of these keywords bring in 33,100 searches. It does not tell me those searches were for "baker college." Totally misleading. Moz keyword explorer says baking college as 0-10 volume, baking colleges has 101-200 volume. So at least it's not trying to give me "baker college" numbers. Perhaps I can trust this, but it's not convenient to upload hundreds of various keywords at a time to pull the volume numbers like I do with the other tools. With Keyword planner making assumptions and grouping unrelated terms together, and Keywords everywhere using those numbers without pointing out the assumptions, I feel like I can't trust anything without taking time to dig into the discrepancies, which is impossible with hundreds of keywords. Do you know of any good search volume tools that don't force or hide assumptions? Thanks.

  • Hi everyone, A client of us has a quite new website with a lot of URLs. (Google Search Console indicates around 5300.) However, when I execute a site crawl with screaming frog, or a crawl test in MOZ, it only shows me one URL, the homepage. Does somebody have an idea why the other pages of the website are not showing up? Thanks,
    Jens

  • Hi, I am using the On-Page Grader to improve the SEO for certain keywords on certain pages. I have received the notification that the "Exact Keyword Used in Document Text at Least Once". Well from the looks of it I have already done this but I want to make sure that im checking the right thing. What does it mean when it says document text as I assumed it was text on the page but its not reading it as that. Any feedback would be appreciated
