Top 5 most optimized websites
-
Throwing this question out to the community but was wondering if anyone can direct me on how I can find the top 5 or 10 ten sites that have been most optimized for search engines.
Meaning which web sites have the best reputation when it comes to website optimization for search engines or is there a resource where I can read about websites that have been ranked as the best when it comes to following best practices and have constantly ranked well within their industry?
Figured it's always a good idea to learn from the best by looking at what they are doing.
Thank you.

@Thomas
I did check Zappos.com but I can see that they have no internal links at all. Is this an MOZ bug or their secret of trade?

you are absolutelty right Thomas!

I hate to bust your bubble on this, but I don't think you will find such a list, especially with the added criteria of white hat. It's really difficult to fully understand a website's entire optimization and strategy from an outside view. Plus, are we speaking of strictly site structure or all aspects of SEO? Wikipedia kills the SEO game by being so massive and having so many inbound links. Tough one to list off.
But if I had to suggest 5 sites to start with I believe that these sites would be great to study:
Zappos.com - Good site. They do a lot of SEO work on their website. I trust their team.
Logitech.com - A well built site. They try to follow all the white label stuff as well.
SEOmoz.org- Maybe it's a bit of a cop out, but the reason you are here is because they are recognized as an authority on the subject.
http://www.mattcutts.com/ < With the exception that you will want to navigate to his blog. But other than that, his site should follow all the white guidelines.
And per Avinash, http://lds.org does good SEO work. I've also run into them at a SEO conference or two.
Of course, all the above are well trafficked sites and very large. Matt's is probably the smallest of the group. If you are looking for smaller websites then I'd just refer to the search engine and who ranks well for any given term.

Google mystery: Website ranks inversely proportional in 2 countries for the main keyword. Any ideas or thoughts?
Hi all, Our website ranking for mail keywords is inversely proportional in the 2 countries (US and India). I mean...if the ranking is improved in one country, it drops in other country and vice versa. The graph looks like exactly something triggered and making this happen at Google. I wonder what might be reasons for this? We have been facing this for more than a year and made number of on-site changes, so I presume if it's something to do with backlinks. Any clue or thoughts on this? Thanks

Google stopped showing time frame for the cached results of the websites; Why? Any alternatives?
Hi Moz community If we Google "site:website.com"; it'll list the cached pages from the website. And we used to check them on required date range like how and which pages got indexed. But date range is not working now and the results are missing the pages which got indexed at the selected date range. Any idea why Google does this? Any alternatives to find the recently indexed pages? Thanks

When sub domains take away the traffic from search; will this helps or hurts main website rankings?
Hi all, We have some of the landing pages on our sub domains which are getting ranked for our brand related queries and taking away the traffic as we don't have pages to rank for those search queries. I would like to know if this scenario hurts or helps our main website ranking as the traffic to the main website is getting diverted to sub domain. Thanks

Best length for a video on a website
Most of us deal with UI/UX questions and SEO questions from clients on a daily basis. I was discussing video length with a client recently and I realized that he was in his video. This made me think about the thrill of seeing yourself in video might cause someone to make their video longer at the expense of UX. So, I thought I would put it to the Moz community. If a company is doing a "typical" home page "Explainer" video that tells about a company. This can be in the B2B or B2C sectors. I want to withhold my opinion at this point for the discussion.

Top resulting sites sites for a specific keyword
I'm teaching myself SEO so that I can speak more intelligently to it with my clients. I've spent a great deal of time on seomoz and love it. The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know and that brings me to my current question. I can search on a keyword and see results, however I see every URL available. I'm looking for a simple way to see the root domains for the top 100-500 resulting websites for a specific keyword. Is there an easy way to get this information I'm sure it's right in front of me, but I can't find it. Many thanks, ahossom
