High PR Web 2.0 sites
-
Hello,
I was wondering if you could provide some advice on which are the best Top 20 high pr web 2.0 properties for content besides wordpress?
Whilst i do intend to use them to further improve my SEO campaign I also intend to use readable content, that is to say, content that i have written and i feel is worthy of being read by interested parties.
What are the top 20 to look at that would benefit an SEO campaign if used correctly (without abusing or being spammy).
I can see lots of crappy ones out there but they all look spammy to me and im not really liking that.

Keep in mind that is the toolbar pagerank of the home page. If you can get a link on www.wordpress.com that's great! But you're not going to get the same value out of brandnewsubdomain.wordpress.com.

thanks so much for your quick reply.
that list is very helpful.

Hi George
Sounds like you'll be using the 2.0s for the right reasons, which is great.
Here's a list of 25 2.0's sorted by PR:
wordpress.com - pr9
tumblr.com - pr8
typepad.com - pr8
weebly.com - pr8
blogger.com - pr8
tripod.com - pr8
posterous.com - pr7
jimdo.com - pr7
yola.com - pr7
squidoo.com - pr7
multiply.com - pr7
angelfire.com - pr7
officelive.com - pr7
rediff.com - pr7
wikidot.com - pr7
webs.com - pr7
webnode.com - pr7
salon.com - pr7
edublogs.org - pr6
webspawner.com - pr6
soup.io - pr6
ucoz.com - pr6
travelblog.org - pr6
gather.com - pr6
springnote.com - pr6I really can't vouch for how easy they are to use or which have the best features etc. as I rarely ever use 2.0s. But hopefully you should find some useful ones here.
So long as you create the content with the purpose of educating and/or entertaining a genuine audience, I think you'll do great - although don't rule out writing some of those posts for guest blogs or perhaps even your own blog.

Links from highly relevant but low Domain Authority sites: Yes or No?
We're reaching out to companies that we have a business relationship with (past and present) to find out if they would be interested in linking to us.

All are obviously in the same industry so highly relevant. But some of the sites are low in Domain Authority (with scores of about 15-25).
Should we also ask these sites -- or avoid them?0 -
Web Directories and Sponsorships in 2014?
Yes I know many of you will say that link building using web directories is old school and does not work. But after studying a website created last year, it ranks in the top 10 "how make a website" run by Peter Zaborszky.

I noticed that he has links from web directories. Not many but he used web directories.. My question is: What you sort a list of web directories and only use ones with high PR and DA . Is this safe? Another remark, what is the difference between web directories and page where donors/sponsors are mentioned with anchor text and dofollow link?. Those pages like web directories contain quite a lot of links from same page. I'm curious how Google sees these pages.0 -
2 links going to same domain but different pages
Hi, How is the link juice distributed when you have 2 links in the same article but they go to different pages on the same domain? I know some say if 2 links go to the same page in an article then only the first link passes juice. Would it be better to have 2 articles each having 1 link or 2 articles each having 2 links?

Multiple blogs for one site
Hello, one of my competitors built all these blogs and pointed them to their main site.. Is this white hat? http://steelbuildingsblog.org/ PR3 http://metal-church-buildings.net/ PR2 http://commercial-metal-buildings.org/ PR2 http://metalandsteelbuildings.net/ PR1 http://steel-storage-buildings.org/ PR2 http://texas-steel-buildings.net/ PR2 http://steel-metal-buildings.org/ PR3 http://metal-buildingstore.com/ PR2 http://metalagriculturalbuildings.net/ PR3 Also I am looking at my links vs. theirs and they have a much higher point score for links... But the company I am doing SEO for has most of same quality links. Can this be the reason they have an edge?

Is it a bad idea to build unique sites to build credibility for your main site?
It is hard to sum up the question in one line, but basically my company has bought several descriptive domains that we would like to build out into microsites that link back to our main site. For example...say we are a florist. Our main site talks about all the different kinds of flowers we have and the work we do. So the idea is to buy weddingflowersdallas.com (example only...) and have a mini site that has the same look and feel as our main site, but has unique content that talks solely about our wedding flower business and has a few links back to our main site. 1. Is this a no no from a google perspective? 2. Is this a good strategy in general? Thanks, David
