How can I track on my facebook page shared links without using short url redirect service?
-
Hi,
I wondering how can I track and analyze on all my shared links in my facebook business page without using short url redirect service like: “Tiny” url or “bitly”?
Thanks in advance.

1. I don't have problem with bitly but i just wondering how google refer to those links that direct to site 1 (bitly) and redirect to my own site?
bitly links redirect using a 301 header. This does differ from one service to another, so it is always good to check via a page like this: http://www.webconfs.com/http-header-check.php (just paste in your shortened link and look for the HTTP response)
Using a 301 means that and PageRank is passed along that link to the final destination page.
2. There is any way to track those link throughout google analytics ?
Yes. If the links are pointing to your site then add analytics campaign tracking variables to them and you'll get lots of additional data. This tool helps: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en
3. Do you have any idea were can looking for the script mentioned above?
I can't stress this enough: I have not used this script. However a quick search for [short url script] turned this up. http://yourls.org/ I suspect that there are many others though.

If you are talking about link that you published to other people's websites, you are stuck with short URL services I am afraid.
The shortener services track the use of your link by redirecting them through a script that monitors traffic. That is what you get reported back. If the links are direct then you don't get that tracked, so no data to report.
You could work around that by setting up your own redirect script. You'd then post your own URLs and get them to redirect, picking up the data on the way. Quite easy to write, but I am sure that someone will have already written this and made it available somewhere online.
If the links are to your own pages anyway then you can use analytics to monitor their use. Using campaign tracking variables on the link will let you track particular posts.
Other than that you are stuck with the metrics provided by the places that you post the links. Those are not that helpful I know.
What is the particular problem with the likes of bitly? What are they not given you that you need?

Facebook Share Percentage - On Blog Posts
Hi everyone, I'm trying to find a way to give each post we are creating a quality status. Since bounce rate on this case isn't really a viable option (Blog Behavior) since people could stay 10 mins reading it and then go elsewhere without interacting. I'm looking for a way to focus on facebook sharing, lets say something simple like "Facebook Shares / Sessions" per each blog post, while I can have an idea on my own data, lets say my highest is 4.1% of all people that go to that post end it up sharing it. But I wonder on average what would you consider a good engagement post, what would that percentage might be? Thanks in advance.

Google Plus page - keep or delete?
Do you guys think that if we are not going to be able to maintain a Google Plus page, from a SEO standpoint is it better to keep or delete the page? Also, do you guys think there's still SEO value to having a Google Plus page in general? Is it worth it? Thanks! MS

Are there plans for Moz to track social activity for LinkedIN Company Pages any time soon?
Currently only Facebook and Twitter can be tracked. My business focuses on B2B and I focus heavily on LinkedIN and would like to track activity from LinkedIN. Any plans?

Facebook "Voting" App
I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a "voting" app on Facebook. We have some user-generated recipes that we want to post and allow our fans to vote for their favorite. Similar to this: http://www.facebook.com/New7WondersofNature#!/New7WondersofNature?sk=app_114026852036251 I've contacted Woobox but they only allow users to choose between 2 options and we would need 5. Any thoughts? Thanks!

SEO w/o Social Webinair experiment - how can RTs of a URL of a google search possibly affect the position of one of the search results?
I missed the webinair but have just been going through the slides. Looking forward to watching the video when its up. I have a question however regarding the experiment conducted by Rand to find out: Is Social Influencing Primary Algorithms (slides 7 - 20) The suggestion is that an RT of a google search URL affects the ranking of one individual ranking site. The +1 side of the experiment I understand completely - it is clear how Google can see that there is a social preference for the site and reward accordingly. But how would retweeting the search result URL possibly affect its rankings? Is the suggestion that those doing the experiment also clicked on the relevant link? And if so, how is Google discerning that this additional traffic is down to Twitter? I feel I am missing something incredibly obvious. Anyone want to help me out here?... otherwise I'm not going to sleep tonight...

Incentivisation Strategies for Social Sharing of Product Pages
Hey, What are some great tips for gaining social shares on ecommerce product or category pages? I understand great images and video will go along way, but it's difficult on a large scale ecommerce store. Receiving an offer for sharing something is great - I honestly cant think of a way to track this strategy in a large scale manner. I can send an email after a purchase making an offer to go back to the page to share, but how would I track this? Thanks.
