Redirected pages still sending response code 200
-
SEO Moz tool reports missing title tags on all the links that have been redirected. E.g. this page: http://www.imoney.my/ms/personal-loan
When I check the response code on the page with redirect checker it shows code 200 (page exists).
Has it happened to anyone else? How can a redirected page send a 200 code?

Thanks, guys!
Your responses were really helpful. It was a bug on our Drupal, sending wrong redirect codes.

As Jonathan mentioned you should indeed use a 301 redirect if it is a permanent redirect and a 302 redirect if it involves a page which is temporarily not available.
It does show the title tags so I think that solving the redirect issue would also solve your SEOmoz missing title tags issue. If you changed the 302 to 301 and it still shows that your title tags are missing let us know and we'll try to help you identify and solve the problem.

I ran the URL above through two header tools, both returned 301s. Here's the header check info returned:
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently => Server => nginx Date => Mon, 03 Jun 2013 06:17:24 GMT Content-Type => text/html Connection => close X-Powered-By => PHP/5.4.6-1ubuntu1.2 Expires => Sun, 19 Nov 1978 05:00:00 GMT Last-Modified => Mon, 03 Jun 2013 06:17:23 +0000 Cache-Control => no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 ETag => "1370240243" Content-Location => http://www.imoney.my/ms/ms/personal-loan Location => http://www.imoney.my/ms/pinjaman-peribadi X-Redirect-ID => 101 X-Frame-Options => SAMEORIGIN
And to answer your question, no, a redirected page should not return a 200 status code.
I hope that helps.

On my browser the page returns a 302 (temporary redirect). It could be that MOZ would still expect the page to eventually resolve. A 302 usually means that the page is temporarily down or not available. Thus should keep the page in index as it should eventually re-appear.
If you are not planning on making this page available again I would suggest you use a 301 instead.

Aren't domain.com/page and domain.com/page/ the same thing?
Hi All, A recent Moz scan has turned up quite a few duplicate content notifications, all of which have the same issue. For instance: domain.com/page and domain.com/page/ are listed as duplicates, but I was under the impression that these pages would, in fact, be the same page. Is this even something to bother fixing or a fluke scan? If I should fix it does anyone know of an .htaccess modification that might be used? Thanks!

Results still being seen for old deleted content
Hi, Our site has a blog. We had "Categories" and "Tags" in our blog. This caused SEO chaos with Duplicate content and 404 Errors. We removed all the Categories and Tags about a month ago. Why would these issues still be showing up on Moz as errors on our Crawl Diagnostics page? Do we need to do some thing else other than just remove them from our blog. Thanks

Duplicate page content on / and index.php
Hi I am new to SEOmoz and in the crawl diagnostics for one of my clients it came back duplicate content on the homepage www.myclient.co.uk and on the www.myclient.co.uk/index.php which is obviously the same page. I understand that the key is to do a 301 redirect from the index to /, however how will I know that this will not just create an ever ending loop on the server? From your experience how is the best way to tackle this crawl error? Also is there a specific question that I need to ask the server?

Using the On-Page optimization Report Card
I am curious if there is a way to get the on page optimization report card to not show a grade of "F" for a page that I'm not targeting a particular keyword for? For example my home page has a lot of grade "F's" for keywords that are targeted on different pages.

301 redirect
Hello, I received a crawl diagnostic report for the website http://www.advancedemt.com here's what it said: Issue: (301 redirect) Page Title URL:http://advancedemt.com/ Redirects to:http://http://www.advancedemt.com/ I called seohosting.com for help: They checked my .httaccess file and did not find anything that would cause this 301 redirect.. Cpanel was evaluated for a 301 redirect and nothing there either. MyPHP Admin was checked for anything that could possibly cause this issue. They had a tech search the entire database and no luck on any issue that may be causing the SEOmoz software to pick up this 301 redirect. We checked the Wordpress settings... No discrepancies. Wordpress permalinks... No problems..... We checked Google to see if they may have indexed the site for the error with no luck... I told the SEO Hosting staff that the canonical feature that has been built into Wordpress would prevent this redirect from allowing Google to index the site with this error. Is it possible that the crawl diagnostics is wrong??? Please help... Best regards, Jeff Bratcher (404) 520-2385

"Issue: Duplicate Page Content " in Crawl Diagnostics - but these pages are noindex
Hello guys, our site is nearly perfect - according to SEOmoz campaign overview. But, it shows me 5200 Errors, more then 2500 Pages with Duplicate Content plus more then 2500 Duplicated Page Titles. All these pages are sites to edit profiles. So I set them "noindex, follow" with meta robots. It works pretty good, these pages aren't indexed in the search engines. But why the SEOmoz tools list them as errors? Is there a good reason for it? Or is this just a little bug with the toolset? The URLs which are listet as duplicated are http://www.rimondo.com/horse-edit/?id=1007 (edit the IDs to see more...) http://www.rimondo.com/movie-edit/?id=10653 (edit the IDs to see more...) The crawling picture is still running, so maybe the errors will be gone away in some time...? Kind regards
