Thanks so much for your responses. I would be using it to manage clients' social media presence across platforms.

Ive used both and it depends what you are looking for.
Sprout Social
- Nicer Interface
- Better reports and engaging
- Geo-targeting
But no bulk uploading.
Hootsuite
- bulk uploading
- cheaper
- more social media channels
But no geo-targetting or gating posts (only enterprise version)

I have personally used Hootesuite and Sprout Social also seems a promising tool to me!
If you are asking for normal Social Media management tool which does not required any advance feature then my idea is to take a trial version of both tools and see what fits your need and if both tools can get your work done, just check the prices and make the decision (No Rocket Science).

Hell Netlover,
Its hard to say what is better depending on your needs. But one aspect to consider is the cost. Hootsuite offers a great individual plan http://signup.hootsuite.com/plans-cc/ with which a lot can be accomplished for free. Sprout Social on the other hand, has a free trial, but all plans include fees: https://sproutsocial.com/pricing. From my use of both Sprout is more advanced tool for advanced social media analysis, and study.
Hope this helps, and what are some tasks you are looking to accomplish?

On a website, is the most effective user experience for the social media icons to open new tabs?
There is debate around what is most effective for user experience. When a user clicks on the social media icons on our site, should a new tab be opened for the social media page or should the website redirect to the social media page?

I am putting together a presentation for my managers about why link building and social media is important for SEO so that we can get more resources allocated to these areas. Does anyone have advice/links of convincing arguments for me to include? Thanks!

Social Signals CONFUSION
You know how sharing on social networking sites can act as social signal for ranking but I was wondering that what type of sharing on fb/google + ? does it has to be our site links all the time or any sharing other than our own site links matters too ? lets say if we are just discussing something on fb/google+ without our site link does that count too? social signal is sent only when we share our own sites link on social sites or through any kind of activity on our social fb/google+ page ? If you want to tell anything else connected with social signal please go ahead ..

Do i direct traffic to all social platforms or not?
Hi ...I have a brand that is very strong socially..specifically facebook and twitter and this is where we have directed all strategy and traffic. We recently wanted to establish a presence on google+ and have done so. My feeling at this point is to maintain a presence on google+ but only direct social traffic to facebook and twitter from the brands website....so we can keep the focus here aswell as the stronger community. I have noticed other brands doing something similar.....is this a good strategy or should we be directing traffic to all the platforms from the site?...bottomline should we be linking to all our social platforms from the brands website or keep it linked to the stronger platforms and just maintain a presence on the others? thank you

Is duplicate content in social media ok?
We use Twitter, Facebook, a blog, and Google +. Currently we create unique content for each. These platforms have the ability to "cross-post" (Where what you put on your facebook or blog gets tweeted, for example). Is it important to keep this content unique? Or can we duplicate across these platforms?

So I am my coworker have a differing opinion on social networking sites.
One of us says to join one or two, Linkedin being one of them and just work those. The other says to build profiles on multiple pages - everything from Merchant Circle to fastpitch , essentially any and all, and not worry about activity level, just get the link. What are your thoughts? Which approve will result in more effective optimization for clients?

Linkbuilding vs. Social -- Allocating scarce resources.
I just watched Rand's latest webinar on the end of search without social. It was very timely for me because I've been putting a lot of thought into how allocate my available person-hours. It is clear that SEO these days necessitates both linkbuilding and social. But how much of each? (50%/50%?, 80%/20%?, etc.) -For the DIY small business owner (<10 hours per week available for SEO) -For SEO savvy web business (~20 hours per week available of SEO) -For in-house or other full time SEO's (30+ hours available) Clearly it depends on a lot of other factors, I'm just looking for a good rule of thumb that can be adjusted according to the business.
