Spanish equivalent of MOZ? need help with understanding Google.es
-
I try to keep up to date with everything SEO to ensure my sites rank well.. marblerenovation.com & Trailersafe.co.uk
I now have a spanish site that I am having trouble ranking well for clima2000egara.es
I have recently found out (by asking our lovely moz community) that googles algorithms are not rolled our world wide. SO I have no idea where I am at with Google.es.
Does anyone know how I can find out at what stage google.es is at? and what the last update was? and whether there is an equilalent community like Moz for Spain? I am fluent spanish so the language won't be a problem..
Thanks in advance for all your help

Hi gfiorelli1,
Thank you for your message.
Recently, I've launched a Spanish comparison platform (valortop.com) and am looking for Spanish SEO firm - mostly off-page link building according to the new post Panda 4.0 and soon Penguin 3.0 era rules. In your expert opinion, which top 3 SEOs or SEO firms would you like to work with in Spain if it was your site?
Very much looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Tibor

Hi!
Living in Spain and knowing very well the Spanish SEO community, I can offer you some names to follow on Twitter (you can eventually translate their tweets if they are in Spanish).
- Miguel Pasqual,
- Jorge Gonzalez,
- Aleyda Solis (obviously). She also publish on Stateofdigital.com a column in English about the best SEO related posts published in Spain,
- Ivo Campos,
- Raquel Franco,
- Fernando Maciá,
- Adrián Segovia,
- Maria José Chacon,
- Fernando Muñoz,
- Miguel Lopez
- Edgar Sanchez
- Christian Oliveira
- Sergio Simarro
- Clinic SEO
This is a short list from where starting knowing the SEO community in Spain.
My suggestion: create a Twitter list with those names, and from there discover other people.
In Spain doesn't exist a site as Moz, with an equivalent "web based" community. SEOs in Spain are not so many, hence they tend to meet up at conferences (which are proportionally much more than in the USA, I suspect).
The SEO community here is very technical oriented, with many of them with an engineer background. In that sense they are literally technical marketers.

Thanks Tom.
Much appreciated.

Hi David
The principle of the algorithm is the same, but some updates or tweaks may be further behind, as you mention. I highly recommend talking to Daniel Ezquerro about this - this is his twitter link and this is his blog.
He'll definitely be able to guide you in the right direction.

When a company lets you go, what is the standard practice for a moz account? Do you simply turn it over and lose all access and moz identity? Or?
Since MOZ is a community, it seems odd to simply turn over my moz account now the company has let me go. Do people typically do this and simply start a new account every time they work someplace new? Or what? I wanted to seek out what the community thought about this -- so that I would have a better idea of how to handle this now and for the next time.

Does Penguin Help Negative SEO?
With negative link targeting seeming to become more and more of a ‘standard practice’ for more and more agencies and freelance SEOs (I, for one, have had to use the disavow tool far more than I ever thought I would) and the fact that there are more “link building services” that really only build ‘crap’ links than there were when that type of link building worked, I am honestly a bit afraid that Google is really just pushing SEO’s to the ‘dark side’ or at least handing black hat link builders a great tool for bringing down the competition. I had one SEO actually say to me “If my client can’t recover than at least I can target everyone that jumped ahead of them and only spend around $300 on bad link building”. This came from someone I NEVER thought would say anything of the sort and really got me to thinking’ “will this be the future of SEO?” I know the answer is no but still, it seems more and more people are just throwing their hands up and targeting competition rather than working on their own websites and with updates like Penguin I am afraid that more of my time will be spent disavowing links than building them.

Penguin 2.0 Update - Just Hit - Google Messes up again, can anyone on SEOMOZ please tell me why or how some of these websites are ranking?
I am getting a bit tired now writing all of this so please excuse grammar and spelling mistakes, I wanted to post this up quickly tonight so I could possibly get some feedback by morning. So I feel I figured out some of the new update that just hit and I am sure the update will continue to keep coming and rankings will most likely change for a while, but I do have a few questions in the mean time if they stay. Please look below, why would some of those sites be ranking? Some sites utilize no onpage SEO, some no backlinks, one of the sites is a single page site and every page is a broken link even the contact us page and it's rank 1..... I am not 100% sure that Google got this one right. I see many instances below where other sites are much higher quality and have more authority. It's as if Google took terrible sites and said here is a site for you, now deal with it and I hope it works out at the top. I do see several sites that belong on the first page, but I see others that are very questionable. This is how the following is written below. Before the url is the anchor text density % for the site. This indicates the percentage of the amount of times the anchor text was backlined versus other anchor texts they used. Issues with the sites. Most of these sites don't utilize onpage SEO and it's clearly not a factor for onpage density purposes, there is a site with 37% keyword density on it. Some sites even have broken links. Please note: I already know that there is a lot of data that is analyzed to determine rankings more than this, but PA/DA is suppose to be a major factor according to everyone that believes in SEOMOZ.org. So I am taking in account for many of those factors being calculated due to this. These are just some random keywords I picked, because I know you need to analyze other SEO firms after and update to figure out what lasted and what didn't. All of my sites lasted due to ethical tactics, but I had some rankings move down and others go up, very odd. The onpage SEO is sloppy and the writing looks forced. Why is this even ranking? The site also looks low quality. The density is higher than SEOMOZ even and it has less words. What is the highest conversion rate you have achieved? URGENT... Community please help!!!
Hello Guys, I need the community's help. I want to estimate the number of visits per month that I will have to generate in order to reach a particular revenue target(monthly). There are three brackets (income channels) in which I can divide this total number of visits - ORGANIC, CPC & ADVERTS. There are two parts to this question. Part A> What percentage of the three income channels should I give to ORGANIC??? Part B> What is the conversion rate I can achieve? Basically... I want to find out what is the general conversion rate that you guys normally achieve for your clients and what percentage of your total visits are through pure SEO and Social Media. I have done most of the calculation assuming that I will be able to achieve 4% conversion rate (but the answer scared me real bad :)).... do you think this is low??? or do you think it is alright? I will appreciate prompt response because I have to give my client the forecast report in a few hours... I have done a lot of research and have finally turned to you guys for an answer... RAND... can u pitch in man??? That would be awesome 🙂 Thanks in advance for your input guys. Best Regards, Talha

Questions to help get to know a potential client and see what the possibilities are for there campaign?
OK so I am putting together a list of questions to refer potential clients to. The purpose of these questions is to: 1, Help them understand the difference between "just give us your keywords and we will make you rank" seo and the full range of options that are advocated here on seo moz. .... 2, Get them to see that there are different levels of involvement that are available for different aspects of a campaign and give them ideas and options on how much input they want to have as well as make them see that we can help them with even the stuff they are gonna do themselves or do it for them with there input and permission. Thats where things get a bit confusing I was thinking of having a list of fifty linkbuilding/linkbaiting techniques and check box options beside each one so that they can read a little bit about the particular technique ie forum participation for example and then see how they felt like that related to there industry , wether they would want there staff to do it with some training from us wther they would want us to help them find the right forums and show them how to link back and to which page, or wether they would just want us to handle everything or simply not feel that that was right for there business .. then they would move on to the next thing ie video creation or user generated content and in the end we would have a big list of things to discuss with them and they would have a better understandiing of how much there is to good seo and what might work for them and also how we could help them and how a relationship/ partnership might look I would love some feed back on this is it possible will it help us to build trust with potential clients (which is diffucult for a new biz in this industry) how would you lay it out would it be a usefull resource for other seo companies etc thanks so much seo mozzers this forum is awsome and i know you will steer me in the right direction oh ps this would be something we would keep on our site
