Why has my homepage been replaced in Google by my Facebook page?
-
Hi. I was wondering if others have had this happen to them. Lately, I've noticed that on a couple of my sites the homepage no longer appears in the Google SERP. Instead, a Facebook page I've created appears in the position the homepage used to get.
My subpages still get listed in Google--just not the homepage. Obviously, I'd prefer that both the homepage and Facebook page appear.
Any thoughts on what's going on?
Thanks for your help!

wait you treated a Facebook page has a homepage? So you did point your TNS to your Facebook account? this is the problem and you should really never want to promote your Facebook account over your soul site. All of these traffic is going simply to 8 site you do not have ownership of however you do have of course your profile there and you may have advertising regardless you want both your website and your Facebook site up at the same time on with twitter and all the other fun stuff. Please explain to me the process in which you created the Facebook page secondly it could be that you have a down server or page and went you Google it you're getting the cash result and that is leading you to the only page with a viable Live link on it your Facebook page. Please private message me if you feel more comfortable doing that or send it via the message board just your URL of the great and I would build that whole you everything wrong. (Hopefully)
all the best,
Tom

Yes it is most likely a DNS problem. You either have the page redirecting to your Facebook IP or you have some sort of a hack. If you run your URL through the system built to you if you have malware http://sucuri.net/ if you do not have any malware. And you send me your URL and I will look either DNS and tell you what the problem is.
I hope I can be of help.
Sincerely,
Thomas

PDFs With No Index Contribute To Page Ranks?
I have a question I'm hoping you can help me with. If I upload a PDF and add a no index under the meta robots index so that the PDF doesn't appear in search results when I send people the link to this PDF, does it still contribute to my site traffic/ranking etc? Basically we are deciding whether to put some PDFs with pricing options etc onto our website or on a google drive. We will be sending the links to potential clients. If visitors clicking on the link would still help with increasing traffic and increasing our google rank (without that PDF showing in results) we thought this might be the best solution.

Does cached duplicate content hurts seo by Google
If we have duplicate content or pages cached in Google which has been indexed months back, still it hurts the original pages? Old URLs with cache can be seen now in Google when we search for the same URLs.

Getting Listed in Google Places
How do I get listed in Google Places if I don't have a physical address? EG: I am a medical health insurance company in Colo Springs, Colorado, but service 20 cities? What is the best procedure? Getting a mailbox at Mailboxes, etc. or UPS Store?

Why does Google Alerts call my website a blog?
Our company started a WordPress blog about 14 years ago. It has since added a third-party forum, a user-submitted photo gallery, and a huge database of searchable products. We also have almost 4000 posts. With all that said, Google Alerts often lists our content under blogs rather than websites. Sometimes it shows up in both? Does anyone know what criteria Google uses for determining the type of content, and how we can signal to them that we are a website?

Google changing case of URLs in SERPs?
Noticed some strange behavior over the last week or so regarding our SERPs and I haven't been able to find anything on the web about what might be happening. Over the past two weeks, I've been seeing our URLs slowly change from upper case to lower case in the SERPs. Our URLs are usually /Blue-Fuzzy-Widgets.htm but Google has slowly been switching them to /blue-fuzzy-widgets.htm. There has been no change in our actual rankings nor has it happened to anyone else in the space. We're quite dumbfounded as to why Google would choose to serve the lower case URL. To be clear, we do not build links to these lower case URLs, only the upper. Any ideas what might be happening here?

When did the New Google Algorithm Come into Force in the UK
On March 3rd, the hits on my UK site crashed to 40% of the previous number. I am guessing it may be down to the google algorithm change:- http://wisestartupblog.com/seo/google-algorithm-change-february-2011-losers-winners/5081 However, I am aware this happened on 25th Feb in the US. Do you know when it happened in the UK. Could it have suddenly started affecting me on March 3?
