Moz Local users: Specs for Images?
-
I'm working on the the CSV for Moz Local and I'm wondering about Image and Logo specs. For the five images that are allowed to be uploaded, are there any size specs (width, height and file size) that assures that my images will be likely to be accepted throughout the various Moz Local partners?
Same goes for logo specs.
Thanks,
Erik -
You're welcome Erik!

Right on. Thanks for all your help, Ryan. It's greatly appreciated.

Right. Moz Local uses the matching verifired Google + and Facebook listings to verify those locations. So what you have there is what gets applied to the myriad of others. See: https://moz.com/local/how and:
Moz Local takes the time and hassle out of managing your listings across multiple sites and directories. When you submit a listing on Moz Local, it must match an existing Google Places or Facebook listing across all of the following attributes: Business Name, Address, Phone Number, and Website. Because you've already gone through the phone or postcard verification process with Google and/or Facebook, your Moz Local listings will be validated if they exactly match Google or Facebook.
Some of our partners—such as Infogroup and Best of the Web—may call or email to confirm your listing information is accurate, but no postcard or PIN entry is required.

What if Facebook isn't a concern? Meaning, we already have established Facebook pages for our 12 locations (as well as Google+ and Yelp). I'm using Moz Local to bring consistency to the myriad of other listings.

Since Facebook will scale it they'll have a range to apply them from and it should work pretty well across the platforms. Submission errors come across one at a time so you should see which 3rd party services have issues with the submission, if any. Cheers!

Thanks, Ryan. Great stuff!
I'm pleasantly surprised how big those images are. Do you know what happens if one of the directories only accepts photos smaller than the 1000 x 1000 size? Does it simply not use the photos, or does it reject our entire submission?
Thanks again,
Erik -
Moz uses Google + and Facebook as their baselines so having images that are scaled to the reqs in those two would be the quickest solution. With Google you can bulk upload images in the dimensional range of 1000x1000 to 3000x3000 "We recommend adding photos that are larger than 1000 x 1000 pixels and smaller than 3000 x 3000 pixels." (https://support.google.com/business/answer/6031953) and then select what you want as a cover photo within Google+. See this guideline: https://support.google.com/business/answer/4791112.
And for Facebook a profile photo containing your company's logo must measure at least 180 by 180 pixels to meet Facebook's upload requirements. Once uploaded, the photo is resized to 160 by 160 pixels and placed within a 170 by 170 field, providing a small border between your profile photo and cover photo. Photos larger than 180 by 180 pixels are scaled down to fit within the profile template. (from: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/size-facebook-business-logos-57290.html)

MOZ not verifying my Google My Business listing
Hello Folks, Moz Local is not verifying my Google My Business Listing nor is it verifying the manual CSV upload. My Google My Business Listing and my manual CSV upload correctly display all of the same information as my Google My Business Listing and Facebook Page using the following Moz Local guidelines. The only thing that I can think of is that Moz Local is currently pulling up and older listing with a toll free number; however that has been corrected and the feed is real time, so I'm at a loss. Facebook The name, address, and phone number (NAP) listed on the page must be an exact match with the listing in Moz Local. The primary phone number listed must be a unique local number or a toll-free number. The primary page category must be “local business”. A minimum of 2 visitor check-ins are required. Not sure what to do here? Head to Facebook's resources to see how to let people check in and how you can check in. The page must be fully accessible to all potential visitors, so any restrictions based on age, location, etc. must be disabled. This can be easily checked by attempting to view the Facebook page in a Chrome incognito browser while not logged into a Facebook account; if you can view the page normally in these conditions, the accessibility should be in good shape! Google My Business The name, address, and phone number (NAP) listed on the page must be an exact match with the listing in Moz Local. The primary phone number listed must be a unique local number or a toll-free number. The business must not be listed as a “service area business”. A service area business displays with the street address being hidden, as well as the listing not being surfaced through the Google Places API (which is where we pull the listing details from). The listing must be verified by postcard. As a note, it may take a couple days after the postcard verification process for the listing to be available through the Google Places API. The listing must be completely searchable through Google Maps, with the full NAP listed correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

“XXX Close” and “XXX Cl” showing up as inconsistencies of the same address in Moz Local checker
I was using the moz local check listing feature to check one of our clients whos addresses is “XXX Close” When i check listing in moz local i get 2 options of the site : with address “XXX Close” with address “XXX Cl” If i click on the “XXX Close” version it shows me listing where the address is written as “XXX Cl” as being inconsistent and visa versa if i click on the “XXX Cl” version. (this happens as some sites reformat the text, ive submitted them all as “XXX Close”) Is the something to be concerned about ? eg. could it effect rankings or does google understand that they are the same ?

Moz Local Listing Score
Hi there, I purchased MozLocal for my firm on February 27th, about 7 and a half weeks ago to the day. While I've been waiting for the results to populate and the program to do it's work, I've been manually updating all the other listings with photos and categories based off the "missing info" Moz Local provides. Throughout the last almost 8 weeks, my listing score has increased a total of 1%. At this point, should I expect to see any further results from this tool? I'm still seeing "Update in progress", yet it seems enough time has passed for at least something to happen. After two months of waiting, I'm wondering if I would have been better off updating these listings myself. Does anyone have any idea when/if I should be seeing any results?
