An external SEO/PPC agency did an audit of our site a little while back and said that over 10% of our pages were missing an H1 tag.

I am trying to find a way to gather a full list of these in order for our web company to fix. I downloaded the Crawl Test report thinking it would include info on tags in there but it doesn't seem to.

Is there a different tool I can use that will get me this information?

        Hi Lepra!

Like ViviCa1 recommended, I suggest using Screaming Frog to pull down this data. Along with pulling down a list of your missing H1s, you can see the webpages that might have more than one H1 (which will also negatively impact your SEO)!

I highly recommened giving Screaming Frog a try. You can download it here: https://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/

As it was mentioned, if your website has less than 500 URLs you can pull a free Screaming Frog report. If you aren't sure how many pages your website has, you can do a quick check to see how many Google has indexed. In order to check this you can go to Google and search "site:" and then the URL minus the www. (i.e. site:bluecorona.com). This will tell Google to ONLY show pages from this website, thus showing you the number. If it is less than 500, go ahead and use Screaming Frog to pull that report down.

        Good luck!

Hi there! Kristina from Moz's Help Team here.

Unfortunately, none of our tools identify missing H1 tags in bulk. Our Page Optimization tool (https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-pro-overview/on-page-optimization) as well as our On-Page Grader tool (https://moz.com/help/guides/research-tools/on-page-grader) have this ability, but it will only process one page at a time.

I apologize as I'm sure you were hoping for a different answer! As always, you can direct questions of this nature to our team in the future by emailing help@moz.com, but I hope this helps!

          Thank you,
          -Kristina

I use Screaming Frog for this. It'a s spider that does a crawl of your website and then (among others) provides a list of pages without (and pages with multiple) H1 tags. It's a fantastic tool, really useful for all sorts of stuff (like checking for missing / too long / too short page titles and meta descriptions etc etc) and fairly inexpensive (free for crawling up to 500 URLs) at £99 per year for one license. This is their website: https://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/

            I hope this helps.

              Hello,

I don't know a way of finding every page in a list but there is a brilliant Chrome plug-in for finding out the Meta-Data and Tags for a specific page. It's called Meta SEO Inspector (currently in v.2.0.8 - the icon is a yellow lightbulb over a blue one).

What it does is list the Meta-Title, description, number of

              and

tags on a page (as well as some other SEO pointers)

One method you could use, depending on the size of the site, is to go through the sitemap page by page, checking which pages have H1 tags and which ones don't. It's a bit labor intensive, and it could take a while depending on the site size, but it would certainly give you a definitive answer. Alternatively you could look at the source code of each page, but I imagine that would take forever.

Someone else may be able to refer a specific piece of software to you, but that's how I think I would do it. I hope this helps.

              Cheers,

              Luke

                Only One Canonical URL Tag

HI, I'm an SEO novice - company owner with no money so doing it all myself with help from my web designer using wordpress.  Ive just completed some seo and done the moz page scoring analysis for optimisation and gained 92% - however - there is one outstanding issue on canonical url tags - i.e. recommened fix = The canonical URL tag is intended to refer duplicate pages to a single canonical URL. To ensure the search engines properly parse the canonical source, your page should use only one version of this tag in the header. See Canonical URL Tag - the Most Important Advancement in SEO Practices Since Sitemaps Ive gone through the page code and can see I have 2 rel=canonical references - am I able to simply delete one - how do I do this if its been created by the yoast/wordpress plug-in? Many thanks in advance for any help!

Moz crawler only crawls one page?!

Hello there, I'm using Moz for a while and I'm very pleased with the tool and community. But for the first time I encountered a problem. We are trying to run a crawler for a client's website but only one page (only the homepage) was crawled. We tried to do a test on a more detailed level (maybe there is something wrong with the homepage). My campaign test's crawl came back for the Producten folder (level deeper than homepage), and it was also only a 1 page crawl with a 200 status. I did look at the robots.txt file now, and it is very restrictive, but there is nothing that I can clearly see that would explain why the crawl isn't working. Hopefully someone can point us at the right direction. Thanks in advance, Jeremy

                Duplicate Page and Title Issues

On the last crawl, we received errors for duplicate page titles and some duplicate content pages. Here is the issue: We went through our page titles that were marked as duplicate and changed them to make sure their titles were different. However, we just received a new crawl this week and it is saying there are even more duplicate page title errors detected than before. We're wondering if this is a problem with just us or if it has been happening to other Moz users. As for the duplicate content pages, what is the best way to approach this and see what content is being looked at as a "duplicate" set?

Getting 'Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible' error msg when trying to run On-Page Grader

I just signed up for MOZ Pro for the first time today.  Tried to run the 'on-page grader' tool on some of my pages but I'm getting a 'Sorry, but that URL is inaccessible' error msg.  I have verified against the robot.txt file that the pages are NOT blocking any crawlers. Can anybody help?

How to find all 301 redirect for URL xyz.com/products (internal and external)?

This is what we are thinking: Get all URL of the xyz.com/products using XENU software. Search  those URL on google (site;xyz.com url ) to find out if they are crawled by google, do the same on bing (as currently google shows 4k URL and bing 11k ) Use opensiteexplorer (301 redirect ) and using (internal external) to get the desired result. Is this the right approach? If not, what is the best way to find the correct result? All suggestions are welcome.
