Negative SEO & How long does it take for Google to disavow
-
Following on from a previous problem of 2 of our main pages completely dropping from index, we have discovered that 150+ spam, porn domains have been directed at our pages (sometime in the last 3-4 months, don't have an exact date).
Does anyone have exerpeince on how long it may take Google to take noticed of a new disavow list? Any estimates would be very helpful in determining our next course of action.

Funny small world, because I remember advising a while back to your competitor https://www.קמגרה.com/
and he asked me to do disavow for domains like avigabbay.co.il that you redirected to their website.
Luckily I don't work in that niche anymore. -
Hi , someone made spam redirect to my website https://קמגרה.net/
And domain owner using DNS 301 redirect technic and it's not working with scripts to block the redirect, i contacted domain registr company "porkbun " to report abuse and they say they can't do nothing about it, what else can i do to block -
@vuly
It requires 2 to 90 days for denied connections to quit being viewed as a feature of a connection profile," says legitimate SEO master Neil Patel on his blog. Remember that Google doesn't ensure that all backlinks recorded in Search Console will be repudiated. For example, my website had spam score 44 - I had disavow hundreds of backlinks but it take time to lower the spam score of my site. -
I found hundreds of spammy links pointing to my website ```
Beatdreamer.com - have now submitted the disavow file to Google, fingers crossed. -
I found a lot of new links to my website proffsit.se
The question is if should I remove spammy sites with high DA as well? question is if should I remove spammy sites with high DA as well?

1.) It depends on Google's perception of what has happened, you may or may not get those rankings back (ever)
i. If Google applied 'active' ranking reductions (usually signified by a penalty message in Google Search Console) then the disavow work alone wouldn't work, you'd also need to submit a reconsideration request. For a recon request to go through, especially a links one, it ranges from 2 weeks to 4 months for them to even respond to it (the higher range is usually for repeat offenders)
ii. If Google applied active ranking reductions without serving you a penalty notice, the disavow on its own should be processed relatively quickly and rankings should begin returning a week or two after the disavow is processed. Note that this is the rarest circumstance, Google almost never apply active ranking reductions without also sending a penalty notification
iii. If Google didn't apply any active ranking reductions, it simply means that links which used to count - no longer pass SEO authority. Doing a disavow doesn't magically bring the authority back (so in this situation you don't see ranking gains from disavow work, this would be called an algorithmic devaluation - not a penalty)
Items (i) and (iii) are infinitely more commonplace than (ii), which is extremely rare
2.) Build good links to replace the crappy ones you have lost

Thanks for your response!
We only disavowed the bad links yesterday not afew months ago, however, none of these links where here last time we checked which was afew months ago. These links are still appearing on Google Console however, it hasn't been 48 hours.
Many of them are linking to websites that seem to be down, however some are actual porn/spam sites. We're very concerned as this has happened the week of Black Friday and we are scratching our heads looking for a fast solution.
**Â So the questions are;**
_**1. While we understand we need to wait 48 hours for these links to be disavowed, how long after they are disavowed would it take to have the our website reappearing on Google again?
2. What else can we do to speed up recovery penalty from unwanted nasty backlinks? **_

I'm pretty sure it's variable and depends on Google's perceived severity of infraction. I've seen disavow lists that never make a difference one way or the other, and ones where the list has been digested and I'm seeing movements within the next few days. Usually speaking, I find that if there's absolute zero impact for a couple of weeks, it's time to stop waiting as the list has probably been rejected, discarded or the work was incorrect and thus it had no impact. It's fairly unusual to submit a disavow, wait for weeks or months and then suddenly it kicks in. In my experience, they're relatively quick-acting! If you have waited nearly half a year I'd say that more waiting isn't going to help

WordPress Themes and SEO
I am helping out a client with updating their website.Â
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | cangelmarketer
The theme they currently have hasn't been updated in ages (I am going to guess years). Would there be a difference in updating to the most recent version of their theme and changing them to a completely different theme? Or because they update in the current theme is so large anyway, it won't make a difference in terms of SEO. The reason I ask is that they don't know their Themeforest details to log in and download the most recent version of the theme, so they would have to re-purchase it, and with the hosting, they have access to a range of themes includes in their package. Google Pagination Changes
What with Google recently coming out and saying they're basically ignoring paginated pages, I'm considering the link structure of our new, sooner to launch ecommerce site (moving from an old site to a new one with identical URL structure less a few 404s). Currently our new site shows 20 products per page but with this change by Google it means that any products on pages 2, 3 and so on will suffer because google treats it like an entirely separate page as opposed to an extension of the first. The way I see it I have one option: Show every product in each category on page 1. I have Lazy Load installed on our new website so it will only load the screen a user can see and as they scroll down it loads more products, but how will google interpret this? Will Google simply see all 50-300 products per category and give the site a bad page load score because it doesn't know the Lazy Load is in place? Or will it know and account for it? Is there anything I'm missing?

Google Bot / SEO and Cookies
Hi, I'm trying to monetise my website via a paid subscription / paid content strategy. The plan is, after the user is on the website for 1min 30secs or clicks 3 map markers or visits 3+ pages A popup will appear asking for a signup + payment Cookie will be set for 6 months, if a users returns and cookie is detected (php) they will be redirected to sign up page My site relies heavily on organic SEO, so my question is: Will google bot be presented with this sign up stuff? Does google bot set cookies? will everything be indexed properly... And what affects on SEO?

Product Schema & Google Guidelines
Hi We have product mark up on our site, data-vocab rather than schema. I can't see it showing in Google SERPs, but when testing it appears to be correct. Are Google still selective with what schema they show for a site? Thanks

Website not properly listed on google organic despite SEO efforts
Hello, I have worked thoroughly on my website tags including HTML titles, URLs, H1 headers and text on each section. The problem is that despite this effort, my website does not seem to improve in terms of ranking (the onsite optimization has been done 6 months ago already). We have a sitemap, we have done link building and everything but still no tangible progress. The anomaly I am experiencing is the following: If I search on Google.com.lb for "aparment for sale in lebanon" I don't get the section on my website that is optimized for that particular query (which is the Buy section located here http://www.ramcolb.com/apartment-sale-beirut-lebanon). my site appears only on page 6 but the Homepage appears which is very counter intuitive because it is not optimized for the "apartment for sale in Lebanon" keyword. And this anomaly is present on almost all sections and their relevant queries. The relevant section for the particular query never appears, it is always another irrelevant section that appears but far in the listings (beyond page 6). It is as if Google hasn't indexed properly my website and is mixing up the sections... Has anyone experienced this type of problems? what can be done? Thanks in advance

How long does it take for google to update title and metadata?
I updated my site's title and description about a week ago, however for some reason it's still not reflected in google search results. Here's my site and try searching for 'shopious directory'. Any idea why this is? I tried looking at webmaster tool and it seems that google didn't have any errors. Why is it still showing the old data?

Is DOCTYPE important for SEO?
Hello fellow Mozzers. I am just having a brief look at a potential clients website before speaking to them tomorrow and whilst looking at the source I noticed that they don't appear to have a clear definition for their Doctype. All the have at the top of each page is I have to admit that Doctypes aren't my strong point but I know that they are normally slightly more descriptive than this. Can this have any effect on rankings? or is this just an issue for W3C validation? Thanks 🙂
