Custom Events Not Showing in GA4
-
I have some experience in successfully creating custom events for GA4 via Tag Manager, but I have one account where my events are firing in GTM but not showing at all in GA4 (not real time or anywhere). I have twice done them over and published my changes but still no luck. Any ideas what else the issue can be? There are no internal filters at the moment. Thank you.

If you've set up custom events in Google Tag Manager (GTM) and they're not showing up in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), here are a few simple steps to troubleshoot:
Check Configuration in GTM:
Ensure that the tags and triggers for your custom events are set up correctly in GTM.
Verify that the triggers are firing as expected in the GTM preview mode.
Preview Mode in GA4:Use the preview mode in GA4 to check if the events are being received. Open your website, enable the GA4 preview mode, and see if events are triggered.
Real-Time Events in GA4:Check the "Realtime" section in GA4 to see if your events are showing up. Sometimes there might be a delay, so wait a few minutes after triggering an event.
Check Debugging in GTM:Use the GTM debugging console to check if there are any errors or issues when the tags are fired. Look for error messages that could indicate a problem.
Tag Version and Publishing:Confirm that the correct version of the GTM container is published. Sometimes changes might not take effect if the correct version is not published.
Network Requests:Use browser developer tools to inspect network requests. Look for requests to the GA4 endpoint and check if your events are included in those requests.
GA4 Configuration:Double-check your GA4 configuration to make sure you are looking at the correct property, and that the events are not filtered out due to any configuration settings in GA4.
User Permissions:Ensure that your GA4 user account has the necessary permissions to view the events. Check if there are any filters or settings restricting the visibility of events.
Ad Blockers and Browser Extensions:Some ad blockers or browser extensions may interfere with the tracking. Disable them temporarily to see if it makes a difference.
Event Names and Parameters:Ensure that the event names and parameters you are sending match the configuration in GA4. Mismatched names can lead to events not being recognized.
If after going through these steps, the issue persists, it might be helpful to consult the GTM and GA4 documentation for any specific known issues or troubleshooting steps related to your setup. -

What's Causing My Extremely Low Bounce Rate
My client's site that is reporting an under 10% bounce rate for all sources. Direct is the highest at 8%. I'm no expert in GA but wondering if there is a problem with the analytics/tag manager code on the site. I'm especially concerned about the GTM body script being in an iframe which I read could be trouble. <!-- Google Tag Manager (noscript) -->

Google Analytics SEO Queries Not Showing
Hi All, This might be a silly question, but for all the properties I monitor in Google Analytics, I'm now showing no data for SEO Queries under Acquisition for the past 6 days. Normally I would expect a few day delay in queries, but nothing for 6 days is somewhat peculiar especially as it was functioning fine prior to November 12th. Does anyone have insight into what might be going on? Thanks! URaNMa3

No-indexed pages are still showing up as landing pages in Google Analytics
Hello, My website is a local job board. I de-indexed all of the job listing pages on my site (anything that starts with http://www.localwisejobs.com/job/). When I search site:localwisejobs.com/job/, nothing shows up. So I think that means the pages are not being indexed. When I look in Google Analytics at Acquisition > Search Engine Optimization > Landing Pages, none of the job listing pages show up. But when I look at Acquisition > Channels > Organic and then click Landing Page as the primary dimension, the /job pages show up in there. Why am I seeing this discrepency in Organic Landing pages? And why would the /job pages be showing up as landing pages even though they aren't indexed?

Google Analytics shows most referrers as "Direct" -- What are some better tools?
Very often Google Analytics will show 50-90% of our referrers as (direct) which is not very helpful. Are there other tools out there that will provide a clearer breakdown of what other websites are sending us our traffic? Specifically, I want to be able to be able to tell who are the top traffic referrers to my top performing pages on my site for the last 30 days. (I want to be able to study this on a per-page basis.) Thanks in advance!

Will 301 redirects (Same Domain) show as referral traffic in Analytics?
For an eCommerce site we have 301'd legacy product pages to new product pages. Is all that traffic going to show up as referral traffic from our own domain in Google Analytics? If so, is there any way to preserve original source/medium info or will all the source/medium info be our own domain since there is a 301 redirect?

Why are plus signs (+) suddenly showing up in Google Analytics organic search keywords reports?
Since June 13, 2013, the number of organic search queries containing a plus sign (+) has gone up over 1,000% compared to the previous period on my site in Google Analytics. These plus signs appear to be taking the place of spaces in these search queries (i.e. "word1+word2+word3"). This appears to be almost (or completely) Google organic traffic, not other search engines. Since I highly doubt searcher behavior would change so suddenly, I'm trying to figure out why Google is replacing spaces with plus signs. Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?

Why is Google Analytics showing index.php after every page URL?
Hi, My client's site has GA tracking code gathering correct data on the site, but the pages are listed in GA as having /index.php at the end of every URL, although this does not appear when you visit the site pages. Even if there is a redirect happening for site visitors, shouldn't GA be showing the pages as their redirect destination, i.e. the URL that visitors actually see? Could this discrepancy be adversely affecting my search performance? Example page: http://freshstarttax.com/innocent-spouse/ shows up in GA as http://freshstarttax.com/innocent-spouse/index.php thanks

Is there a way to use Google Analytics event tracking for YouTube embedded videos on my website?
Hello! I am trying to track different types of interaction on the YouTube for videos which are embedded on a website to measure the interaction on these video from my organic traffic. Is there a good way to go about this with the code since these are coming from an iFrame on YouTube? Would appreciate any feedback or help on implementing the event tracking with YouTube videos. Many thanks!
