Block Links From Spam sites

can you block links from other websites?ie: links backlinking to your site, causing a high spam score.
-
@YarNik
I have same problem with my site, also in printing business www.sertit.ro
Lot of bad backlinks from domains with .xyz -
One of my sites https://active-print.kiev.ua/ is the leader of the printing industry in its city, competitors are constantly stealing texts and have been trying to create bad links to the site for 2 years now. It gave me more work, I regularly need to go to the search console and reject outright spam links.

Try to block the IP of the spam websites to your site.
-
Well, you can't really do much about it because you don't know who stands behind these actions. If you discover that a lot of Chinese (.cn) or Russian (.ru) domains are suddenly linking to your website, it might be a good indicator of low-quality backlinks.
-
Hi @Socialdom agree with everyone's inputs so far.
Just wanted to add that when you use the disavow tool, results from it are pretty slow. Could easily take up to 9 months to see any difference. As such, if you have had any rankings hit due to spammy links, you may not see a recovery any time soon.
Additionally, if you are using any link audit tools, the disavow links will likely still show up. You should be able to add them to a disavow list within the tool though.
-
Is there a specific link you feel is spammy? Have you considered disavowing?

@Nigel_Carr Thanks Nigel for the feed back. I only have a few to deal with

@Socialdom said in Block Links From Spam sites:
links backlinking to your site
The correct way of doing this is to research each backlink thoroughly. There are various tools you can use to do this, each one will give you a list of backlinks and a score of their toxicity. The correct procedure is to:
-
Email the offending site and ask for the link to be removed. This is OK if a site has stuffed a link in the footer of their site without realising the damage it can do. I've had it with friends trying to help. Just ask them to remove the link, or maybe move it to a help page or better something related to your website content.
-
If you get no joy this way then it's OK to compile a disavow file and upload it to Google. just be VERY CAREFUL doing this as disavowing sites that have a positive effect on your rankings can cause s drop.
Read more here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2648487?hl=en
The reality is that Google knows whether a link is spam or not and generally ignores them, and unless you have been involved in some dodgy link building all will be OK whatever.
If you have received a manual penalty then the proper process of research/disavow must be done thoroughly, but few websites suffer this indignity these days.
Just do things properly, build links organically, and your site will be fine. Use the disavow tool sparingly (if at all), replacing each txt file with a fill list each time you do it.

Should I Report A SEO Agency to Google
Our competitor has employed the services of a spammy SEO agency that sends spammy links to our site. Though our rankings were affected we have taken the necessary steps. It is possible to send evidence to Google so that they can take down the site. I want to take this action so that other sites will not be affected by them again.

How i can Reduce Spam score of my website
Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to the community for some advice on improving my website's spam score. I've been using the Moz Spam Score Checker and my website, sngplbill.pk, currently has a score of 7%. While this isn't exceptionally high, I'd like to take steps to bring it down as low as possible, ideally under 1%. One factor I've identified that might be contributing to this score is a number of backlinks pointing to my site has a much higher spam score (over 80%). (screenshot attached)sngplbillscore I'm wondering if the community has any recommendations for how to address this situation. Here are some specific questions I have: Does disavowing the backlinks from spamy site seem like the best course of action?

Dealing with spam link attack
Last year I noticed that overnight my site was backlinked by 1000's of spammy links.
Link Building | | chuckstar_za
All with same anchor text and all really awful unrelated sites (law, money, mobile phone, pr0n sites, etc). I've not been hit with any penalties (or at least been messaged with anything to that effect), and I still float around top 10 for that anchor text, but I don't like having 1000's of spammy links with exact anchor text pointing to my site. Especially when all the other competitors have a fraction of the number of links. What would be the best way to combat these links before they do serious damage to my rankings.

Link building for a product review site
I'm doing SEO for a product review website, and I'm curious what link building opportunities are best for this category. Assume only the following: The website is basically a blog Most of the articles are reviews on cosmetic products, though there are also articles regarding news, product roundups, tips&tricks and similar content The website is in a local, non-english language Disregarding low-value opportunities such as directories, what kind of websites should I aim for outreach purposes? So far, I'm thinking the following: Product manufacturers (very low success chance, as the review site is fairly new and in a localized language) E-commerce sites selling the products (average to low success chance, since a lot of them use CMSes that might not allow integration of a review) Other cosmetic blogs, particularly for guest blogging (average to low success chance, since the website is fairly new) Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!
