If your domain authority (DA) has remained unchanged for an extended period, there could be several reasons behind this. Domain authority is a metric developed by Moz that reflects the overall strength and authority of your website's backlink profile. Here are some common reasons why your DA might not be changing:
Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program Application form
Lack of High-Quality Backlinks: To increase your DA, you need to earn high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites in your niche. If you haven't been successful in acquiring such backlinks, your DA may stagnate.

Infrequent Content Updates: Regularly updating your website with fresh, valuable content can attract more backlinks over time. If you've been publishing content infrequently, it can affect your DA growth.

Low Link Diversity: Having a diverse range of backlinks from different sources and domains is important for increasing DA. If you have a limited number of backlinks or they are primarily from a few sources, it can hinder DA growth. (Canada PR)

Historical Low-Quality Backlinks: Low-quality or spammy backlinks from the past can negatively impact your DA. It's important to disavow or remove such harmful links.

Competitive Niche: In highly competitive niches, it can be challenging to see significant improvements in DA, as other websites are also actively building their authority.

Algorithm Updates: Search engines like Google frequently update their algorithms. These updates can affect how Moz calculates DA. Your DA may remain stable even if your website is performing well if there are algorithm changes that influence how it's measured.

To improve your DA, consider the following strategies:

Quality Content: Regularly publish high-quality, informative, and engaging content that attracts natural backlinks.

Link Building: Actively pursue high-authority backlinks through outreach, guest posting, and partnerships with relevant websites.

Remove Toxic Backlinks: Audit your backlink profile to identify and disavow or remove low-quality or spammy links.

Diversify Anchor Text: Use a variety of anchor text when building backlinks to avoid over-optimization.

Mobile Optimization: Ensure your website is mobile-friendly, as mobile-friendliness can influence search engine rankings and, indirectly, your DA.

Patience: Building domain authority is a long-term process. It may take time to see noticeable changes.

Remember that domain authority is just one metric, and it's not the only factor that determines the success of your website. Focus on providing value to your audience, optimizing your content for SEO, and building a strong online presence. Over time, improvements in these areas should positively impact your domain authority.

@ZediAfrica said in It's been 2 years and my Domain authority is not changing:

@iamshrawan your domain authority is at 58. I think that that's decent enough with the amount of backlinks you have.

I have a website named as https://yogaclouds.com/ whose DA is 2 so which backlinks strategy is best for this.

I'd be happy to help! If your domain authority hasn't changed for months and your ranking has even come down despite an increase in the number of links, there are several factors you should consider to improve your domain authority:

Quality over Quantity: Having a large number of links doesn't necessarily guarantee a higher domain authority. Focus on obtaining high-quality backlinks from authoritative and relevant websites in your niche.

Diversify your Link Profile: Avoid getting too many links from the same source. A diverse and natural link profile with links from various domains will be more beneficial.

Link Relevancy: Ensure that the websites linking to your domain are topically relevant. Links from relevant sources carry more weight in terms of domain authority.

Check for Toxic Links: Perform a backlink audit to identify and disavow any toxic or spammy links that might be negatively impacting your domain authority.

Create High-Quality Content: Producing valuable and shareable content can attract natural backlinks from other websites, positively affecting your domain authority.

Social Media Presence: Engage with your audience on social media platforms, as social signals can indirectly influence domain authority.

User Experience and On-Page SEO: Improve your website's user experience and ensure proper on-page SEO practices, as they can indirectly impact domain authority by increasing organic traffic and user engagement.

Internal Linking: Implement a solid internal linking strategy to distribute authority across your website's pages effectively.

Patience and Consistency: Improving domain authority takes time. Continue working on your SEO efforts consistently and be patient for the results to show.

Monitor Competitors: Keep an eye on your competitors' strategies and see if there are any opportunities to obtain similar high-quality backlinks.

Remember that domain authority is just one of many factors that influence search engine rankings. It's essential to have a holistic approach to SEO and focus on providing value to your audience while adhering to best practices.

Also, regularly monitor your website's performance, rankings, and backlink profile to stay informed about any changes and adjust your strategy accordingly. SEO is an ongoing process, and staying proactive will help you achieve better results over time.

I think SEO experts will advise you better, but I believe your focus is on building a portfolio of backlinks for the homepage. Try diversifying; the other pages, such as the "categories" page, have zero backlinks from what I could notice

                        WordPress Sub-directory for SEO

                        wordpress subdirectory domain authority

Hi There, I'm working on a WordPress site that includes a premium content blog with approx 900 posts. As part of the project, those 900 posts and other membership functionality will be moved from the main site to another site built specifically for content/membership. Ideally, we want the existing posts to remain on the root domain to avoid a loss in link juice/domain authority. We initially began setting up a WordPress Multisite using the sub-directory option. This allows for the main site to be at www.website.com and the secondary site to be at www.website.com/secondary. Unfortunately, the themes and plugins we need for the platform do not play nicely with WordPress Multisite, so we started seeking a new solution, and, discovered that a second instance of WordPress can be installed in a subdirectory on the server. This would give us the same subdirectory structure while bypassing WordPress Multisite and instead, having two separate single-site installs. Do you foresee any issues with this WordPress subdirectory install? Does Google care/know these are two separate WordPress installs and do we risk losing any link juice/domain authority?

If I migrate to a new domain, does my Domain Authority score get migrated also?

For business reasons, I migrated my domain with a DA score of 85 to a new domain.  After some time, the DA score on the new domain is only 45.  My migration plan and redirects went smooth and all redirected with best practices in mind.  I am still ranking well for almost all of the keywords where I've 301 redirected old URL to new. Any feedback welcome!

Is Moz's backlink checker.... just... not good?

Hey everyone! Can somebody explain to me why this keeps happening: Whenever I'm trying to backlink my competitors, I typically use RavenTools. Every time, without fail, if I put that same URL into Moz's Open Site Explorer - It gives me about 1/20th of what RavenTools shows me. Sometimes it literally comes up with 2 or 3 links total. Unfortunately, RavenTools has a cap on how many backlink checks you can perform in a month - so once I've used those up, I have to start using OSE... But, it just doesn't work. Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks!

Do other sites linking to my page with a low domain authority affect my rankings?

Hello, my page authority 30, I see other page with an authority of 21 for example linking to us. Is this good or bad, does this affect our ranking? A lot of these don't have anchor text, I'm guessing we should reach out to these webmaster to include anchor text with the keywords we want to drive traffic to this page or make as descriptive as possible? Thanks! Laura
