                Hello Moz team,

I have a concern regarding the spam score of my website, https://www.5wh.com/. 5WH is a freelancing platform for journalists aimed at providing valuable content to users. However, according to Moz, the website's spam score is currently at 41%.

Please assist us in resolving this spam score issue. It appears that someone has created these links for our website, and unfortunately, I am unable to remove them as all the domains have expired.

To enhance your domain's backlink profile and reduce spam risk, prioritize high-quality, relevant backlinks from authoritative sites like satyanews. Avoid link schemes or buying links, and disavow any harmful links. Regularly audit your backlink profile using tools like Google Search Console. Foster organic link growth through valuable content and genuine relationships.

I see how people throw none sense like: Make your content more user friendly and things like that. Ignore them all. There are tons of websites with ai and copy content that has 1-5% spam score. I'm not saying good content doesn't matter. It does, but for google. Moz is different.
Currently my website has a ss of 56%. I'm working on it and it should show results in the next quarter (according to Moz). If it works, I'll start a topic and finish these superstitions once and for all.

A high Moz Spam Score can negatively impact your website's visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs). Here are some strategies you can implement to reduce your Moz Spam Score:

                            1. Audit your backlinks:
                            • Identify low-quality backlinks: Analyze your backlinks using tools like Moz Link Explorer, Ahrefs, or SEMrush to identify spammy, irrelevant, or low-quality backlinks pointing to your website.
                            • Disavow low-quality backlinks: Submit a disavow file to Google Search Console to inform Google that you disassociate yourself from these backlinks. This can help mitigate the negative impact they have on your website's ranking.
                            • Remove backlinks where possible: If possible, contact the website owners directly and request them to remove the backlinks. This is the most effective way to remove low-quality backlinks.
                            1. Improve your website content:
                            • Publish high-quality content: Create valuable, informative, and engaging content that your target audience finds useful. This will help attract natural backlinks from high-quality websites.
                            • Remove duplicate content: Ensure your website doesn't have any duplicate content, as this can be seen as spammy by search engines.
                            • Improve website structure and navigation: Make sure your website is easy to navigate and has a clear structure. This will help search engines understand your website content better. This will help increase website performance.
                            1. Secure your website:
                            • Install an SSL certificate: This will encrypt the communication between your website and visitors, making it more secure.
                            • Update your website software regularly: Keep your website software, plugins, and themes updated to patch any security vulnerabilities.
                            • Monitor your website for malware: Regularly scan your website for malware and remove it immediately if detected.
                            1. Build high-quality backlinks:
                            • Create linkable assets: Develop valuable content that other websites will naturally want to link to, such as infographics, research data, or expert guides.
                            • Guest post on relevant websites: Write guest posts on high-quality websites in your niche and include links back to your website.
                            • Participate in online communities: Actively engage in online communities and forums related to your niche, and provide valuable insights and resources. This can help attract natural backlinks to your website.
                            1. Monitor your Moz Spam Score:
                            • Track your Moz Spam Score regularly: Use Moz Link Explorer or other SEO tools to track your Moz Spam Score over time. This will help you measure the effectiveness of your efforts.
                            • Address any issues promptly: If you notice a sudden increase in your Moz Spam Score, investigate the cause and address it promptly.

                            Additional Tips:
-Be patient: Reducing your Moz Spam Score takes time and effort. Don't expect to see results overnight.

                            • Focus on quality over quantity: It's better to have a few high-quality backlinks than many low-quality ones.
                            • Get help from an SEO professional: If you're struggling to reduce your Moz Spam Score on your own, consider seeking help from an SEO professional.
                            • Maintain good website hygiene: Regularly monitor your website for any technical issues or broken links and fix them promptly.
                            • Reach out to content delivery network provider to understand on how to increase website performance, protect your website and much more.

By implementing these strategies and maintaining good website hygiene, you can gradually reduce your Moz Spam Score and improve your website's overall health and visibility in search engines. Remember, it's important to focus on building a high-quality website with valuable content and natural backlinks, rather than trying to manipulate search engine algorithms.

A high Moz Spam Score hurts your website's search engine ranking. To lower it:

                              1. Identify and disavow spammy backlinks.
                              2. Create high-quality, valuable content.
                              3. Secure your website and keep it clean of malware.
                              4. Build high-quality backlinks naturally.
                              5. Monitor your progress and be patient.

The above will not only help in decreasing the spam score but will also help increase the website performance. For more details, you can also connect with a Content delivery network company in order to know on how to increase the website performance.

What is the fastest way to remove backlinks? I have had my site since 1998! so we picked up some spam links along. Having submitted Disavow reports twice in 6 months nothing seems to move Moz damaging spam score. We are naturally link-building to see if things will change but how long and how many? Maybe we just need some big-hitter DA sites to link to us. All Help is appreciated.

There is no quick fix for reducing your website's spam score. It takes time and effort to clean up your website and build high-quality backlinks.

“Spam Score is not a Google Metric“, and Google does not use it in its algorithm. However, it can be a useful tool for website owners to identify potential spam issues and take steps to fix them, also “it is possible for a website to have a high Spam Score and not be penalized by Google, or vice versa“.

[you can read the detail article here "How to Lower Your Website’s Spam Score After a Sudden Increase"]

It's essential to remember that reducing a spam score can take time, and it may not happen overnight. Consistent efforts to maintain a clean and reputable website are crucial for long-term success. Additionally, staying up-to-date with SEO best practices and algorithm updates is important in maintaining a healthy website.

                                                spam score

My domain  longfeifei.com is for a regular company website and someone sent a lot of external links on different low-quality websites on the internet. Now the score is very high about 75%. If I disavow the unusual links from google search console. Is it possible to reduce the spam score? Is MOZ associated with GOOGLE Data? Thanks,

Best tools for an initial website health check?

                                                Hi,
I'd like to offer free website health checks (basic audits) and am wondering what tools other people use for this? It would be good to use something that presents the data well. Moz is great but it gets expensive if I want to offer these to many businesses in the hope of taking on just a few as clients and doing a full manual audit for them. So far I've tried seositecheckup.com (just checks a single page though), metaforensics.io and mysiteauditor. Thanks!

A tool to tell a websites estimated traffic

I am new to Moz (as a member), so I am not sure if Moz has a tool that I need. I don't want this post to be about self promotion, so I will keep it short. Our business helps increase conversions and sales for online businesses. Our ideal prospects belongs to some key categories of businesses like ecommerce, saas etc. However, I would like to know the estimated volume of traffic for a website before approaching them and introducing our service. So if there was a tool I could use to estimate the volume of visitors a specific website receives on average a day or month, it would be hugely beneficial.Obviously, these are prospective clients, so we do not have access to their system or their analytics. I just want to get an estimate. So for example, if I entered the domain abc.com into the system, I would hope it could tell me, that abc.com gets an average of 900 unique visitors a day. I don't need too much detail like geographic locations etc, but it would be a bonus having that additional information. I also don't mind paying for a tool that's quality. So it doesn't have to be free.

Hi, I have entered a competitiors website www.my-wardrobe.com into Open Site to see who they get links from and to my surprise they have a load from Barclays Business Banking. When I visit the page I can not see the links. But if I search the pages source code for my-wardrobe, there I have it, a link to my-wardrobe.com. How have they done this? Surely Barclays haven't sold them it? And more so, why are they receiving link juice when you cant even see the link on the Barclays page in question - http://www.barclays.co.uk/BusinessBanking/P1242557952664 Thanks | |
