      @harry550

To determine why your website's rankings may have dropped and identify potential issues, conducting a comprehensive SEO audit is crucial. Here are some steps you can take:

On-page Optimization: Review the content and meta tags on your website to ensure they are optimized for relevant keywords. Check for keyword stuffing, duplicate content, and missing meta tags.

Technical SEO: Assess your website's technical aspects such as site speed, mobile-friendliness, crawlability, and indexability. Address any issues like broken links, server errors, or improper redirects.

Backlink Analysis: Analyze your website's backlink profile to ensure quality and relevance. Disavow any toxic or spammy backlinks that may be harming your rankings.

Content Quality: Evaluate the quality and relevance of your website's content. Make sure it provides value to users and aligns with their search intent.

Competitive Analysis: Compare your website with competitors to identify areas for improvement and potential opportunities.

Google Algorithm Updates: Stay updated with Google's algorithm changes and how they may affect your website's rankings. Factors like core updates, page experience signals, and mobile-first indexing can impact rankings.

Local SEO: If your business targets local audiences, optimize your website for local search by claiming and optimizing your Google My Business listing, ensuring consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) information across directories, and earning positive reviews.

User Experience: Focus on improving user experience by providing easy navigation, clear calls-to-action, and fast loading times.

Consider consulting with an experienced SEO professional or agency to conduct a thorough audit of your website and provide tailored recommendations for improving your rankings.

This could be because of a Google algorithm update or a penalty that might have been applied?

We notice our organic visitor number change substantially, thats during Google algorithm updates.

                Reasons for Ranking Drops:
Several factors can cause fluctuations in web rankings. Some common reasons include:

Algorithm Updates: If Google releases a new algorithm update, it can impact rankings for various websites. If your website's content or SEO practices don't align well with the updated algorithm's criteria, you may experience a drop in rankings.

Technical Issues: Problems with website loading speed, broken links, and other technical issues can negatively affect rankings. Ensure that your website is technically sound and adheres to best practices.

Backlink Profile: Poor-quality or spammy backlinks can lead to penalties. Regularly audit your backlink profile and disavow harmful links.

Competition: Changes in competitors SEO strategies or the emergence of new, stronger competitors can influence rankings.

There could be multiple factors affecting your website ranking. One of the most important factors that could have affected your website would be 1) any technical change that had affected site speed 2) On page changes like Meta update, Headings Update, URL change, Media change etc.. 2) offsite change - backlinks gone spammy, removed or from non relevant sources 3) SSL / Hosting related issues - site kept going down for some reason 4) and last but not least the Google algorithm update. If issues persist you can reach out this top SEO company in Toronto for detailed audit of your website.

This could be due to a number of factors, however as of this morning (9/8/17) there is talk of a potential Google algorithm update- see more talk about it at https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-algorithm-update-24433.html. This is just speculation but Google is showing a lot of SERP volatility in the last 24-36 hours.

Ranking Expectations and Search Intent Alignment

                        keyword ranking search intent

I've recently implemented the page optimization recommendations provided by Moz Pro to help our site rank for specific keywords on certain pages. It’s been about two weeks since we've added these URLs/keyword parings. The optimization scores for the targeted keywords and URLs are looking strong. Also, we've crafted these pages with keyword optimisation in mind. However, we have a couple of questions as we move forward: Ranking Expectations: Since our optimization scores are good, when might we start seeing improvements in our keyword rankings? We know that SEO results can take time, but we would appreciate any insights on a typical timeline based on your experiences. Optimization and Search Intent: While the tool’s optimization suggestions have been helpful in regards to giving us a score for a specific keyword, we’re curious about how this factors into search intent. How does this tool take into account variations in search intent, especially if users search using slight variations of the keywords we’re targeting? Thank you so much for your insight!

No index for http version of website

Hi, I've had a message from Google search console to say the sitemap for the http version of my site is tagged as no index. As the https version is indexed, do I need to change the http version to be indexed as well? Do I need to keep the http version of the site in search console alongside the https version, or should I remove it? Advice appreciated!

example.com/amp We have set the 'meta title' in desktop version & we don't want to change the title for AMP page as we have more than 10K pages on the website. ----As per SEMRUSH Tool---- ABOUT THIS ISSUE It is a bad idea to duplicate your title tag content in your first-level header. Meta Robots index & noindex Both Implemented on Website

I don't want few of the pages of website to get indexed by Google, thus I have implemented meta robots noindex code on those specific pages. Due to some complications I am not able to remove meta robots index from header of every page Now, on specific pages I have both codes 'index & noindex' implemented. Question is: Will Google crawl/index pages which have noindex code along with index code? Thanks!

New site pages are indexed but not ranking for anything

I just built this site for a client http://primedraftarchitecture.com.  It went live 3 weeks ago and the pages are getting indexed as per Webmaster Tools.  But I'm not seeing it rank for anything. We're adding blog articles regularly and used Moz Local for local links and have been building links in other local directories (probably about 15 so far). Usually I get some rankings, although very low, after just a week or two for new sites. Does anyone see anything glaring that may be causing a problem?

Why I am ranking for irrelevant keywords

My website is e-commerce and used to rank for all industry related keywords like buy widgets, cheap widgets, online widgets in top10. And suddenly my website was hacked and to resolve this hacking issue i have re-write all my dynamic urls into static pages after that new pages are indexed and ranking well. But after few months i have notice few changes in keywords ranking going down. But suddenly after Google Algo (EMD/Panda) update on Sept 27 i lost all my positions. And then according to Google guidelines i have worked on over optimization and low quality pages. I have removed all tones of low quality pages from SERP and simultaneously worked on url re-write. But i have notice small percent of changes in keyword positions like when Google Algo (EMD/Panda) is rolled out i lost my keyword positions from 1st page to 200 page and after working on over optimization and low quality pages the keywords are came back to 100 pages. Recently i have notice that my web pages ranking for irrelevant keywords. For example, let's say i used to rank for home page for these keywords; buy widgets, cheap widgets, online widgets but now am ranking for different inner pages say (guide pages). Can any one suggest me whats wrong..

I have two pages ranking for the same keyword.

The index page and the targeted landing page for that keyword. They have different content, title, meta but I am competing with myself for the main keyword in the industry. What is the best way to fix this? 301 the keyword page to the index page?

                        Schema.org for news websites?

So as of late I have been on something of a mission to mark up my news website with as much accurate and detailed Schema and Open Graph data as possible, in order to not only allow the search engines to understand my content properly, but also to ensure everything appears in the most ideal fashion when linked to from Facebook, Google+, etc. Here is an example of a typical article page: http://www.nerdscoop.net/technology/video-games-459 As you'll see I currently have news posts marked up as article because that is essentially exactly what they are, but is there a better way to emphasise that they are news rather than just generic articles? My second question is regarding the category pages and the home page. How would be best to mark these up? With OG the task is fairly simple, because I can specify the homepage as being a website, but not so with Schema from what I can see. Either way, this is an interesting subject to me and I look forward to any discussion as a result. Thanks for looking.
