What does the Pinterest [Love] button do?

I see a Pinterest button with a heart on it. What does it do? What benefit do I get when someone clicks on the [Love] button on my board?

In Pinterest, the little heart button is just like the Facebook "Like" icon. (But they had to be different, so it's a heart, meaning you love it. But not in the till-death-do-us-part way.)

What's a like? (The Heart Shaped Thing)
Liking a pin adds the pin to your profile’s likes section rather than a specific board.
To like a pin, hover over the pin and click on the heart icon in the top right corner.
What's a pin?
A pin is an image or video you add to Pinterest that leads back to the site where it was found. You can pin anything you find on Pinterest or around the web.
Having lots and lots of people pin a product on your website, or an image or video on your page adds to it's social media profile, and should help with both consumer engagement and possibly rankings.

Facebook Like button on website: which "URL to Like"? Website or Facebook Page?
Hello, I have a question about the Facebook Like Button. We we are setting up a Like Button to put on the top page of our website (300 likes) However, we already have a Facebook Page (1000 likes). Now, in the set up of the button, we need to decide which "URL to Like" and I really do cannot realize which one is best. Employing Pinterest for SEO gain.
Hi I wanted to see if the SEO team have had any feedback from members who have started to use Pinterest. I've had it for a month or so now and I've been adding pins every day since - (quite addictive actually). What is interesting is the gender element to the people who are following and repinning my pins and boards i.e. female. Hey Guys, As you all know there are many social buttons out there that can be added to your website. Facebook Like button, Twitter's Tweet and Follow buttons, Google +1, and AddThis buttons are just a few to mention.
